  • JJ & Mofro ROCKED THE HOUSE!

by sraimundo on 4/7/13House of Blues Orlando - OrlandoRating: 5 out of 5

It was the first show on their "This River" tour. He said they didn't rehearse--hadn't even seen each other. You'd never know! The chemistry between the bandmates was totally entertaining. JJ was on fire! I had seen The Greyhounds (without JJ) & had seen JJ solo, but this was my first time seeing the band all together. All around awesome show!

Hands down by a mile. The best concert I have ever been too.

Awesome show and a great location at house of blues. Defiantly. Going back next year.

  • Extremely impressed and blown away

by KCPayne on 4/7/13House of Blues Orlando - OrlandoRating: 5 out of 5

Reluctantly went to this show- it's my boyfriend's favorite band and I surprised him with tickets. Not my kind of music at all and I figured I'd just hang at the bar and let him go up front and jam out. I got totally sucked in by JJGrey's talent and the energy of the band. His voice is so powerful and they are a blast watch. I'll definitely go see them again!

  • Go see Mofro!

by Crash99 on 4/7/13House of Blues Orlando - OrlandoRating: 5 out of 5

Great show! JJ Grey and Mofro have big energy and great chemistry. The guitarist and sax player battled it out. JJ's singing is album quality. They are better live than i expected. I would have liked to here more older music. Lots of new mterial. House of Blues was a fun, intimate venue.

One of the best concerts I have been to. This is a band to see over and over.

JJ Grey and Mofro put on a great New Years' Eve show at the Pageant. They are all excellent performers who know how to engage the crowd. I'm looking forward to their next show in St. Louis.

  • JJ Grey & Mofro's performance was excellent

by Marshmutt on 1/2/13The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

This makes the 4th or 5th time I've seen JJ Grey with and without Mofro. The performance was exceptional. JJ's demeanor is always upbeat and funny. I thought their performance was exceptional - well worth the $30.00.

  • JJ Grey and Mofro rocked the house

by teenerj on 1/2/13The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

JJ Grey is amazing! He's not just a singer "performing" on the stage. You can tell he really "feels" his lyrics and they mean something to him. He thoroughly enjoys what he's doing and so does the audience! I LOVED every second of his show, wish he would have played longer because I couldn't get enough of him! If you ever have a chance to see them in concert--GO!!! You won't be disappointed. I plan to see them again.....and again....and again!!

  • JJ Grey ROCKED The Pageant

by OldSchool on 1/2/13The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

As always, JJ Grey brought his gritty, heart-ripping style of blues and put it in our face!!!! Once you hear him you're hooked!!!

  • JJ and micro AMAZING

by Damndelightful on 12/31/12Variety Playhouse - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

The show was incredible. The level of talent and unique sound was refreshing and a damn good time.

  • JJ delivered as always

    by smitty0375 on 12/31/12Variety Playhouse - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

My 17th JJ show. Wasn't one of the best, seemed like the band was a tad off on the timing and JJ had a bit of a cold. Having said that, this band is incapable of playing bad. So JJ on an "off" night is still better than about 90% of the bands out there. Also very excited that he confirmed a new record.

  • JJ Grey in ATL

by Lolalolaann on 12/31/12Variety Playhouse - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

I like the Variety Playhouse. It was a fine place to see a concert. We stood the entire time but then I expected to. The lines at the bar were kinda long but the folks were nice. The concert sound and quality was top notch. JJ played lots of new stuff that I enjoyed but I missed some of his older stuff and fine covers. All and all a fun night.

  • They are simply the best!!!

by ATLVP on 12/30/12Variety Playhouse - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

JJ Grey & Mofro are simply the best. I have gone to hundreds of shows and I always look forward to them coming to Atlanta. JJ sings with the most passion of anyone I've ever seen and his band is incredible. JJ obviously loves what he does and demonstrates his genuine appreciation for his fans. Do yourself a favor and go see them wherever and whenever you can. They are the best

  • JJ Grey and Mofro is the best band ever

Most soulful performance I've ever seen, I'll go see these guys every chance I get and recommend everyone else do the same.

  • jj never disappoints!!!

by slcherrera on 12/30/12Variety Playhouse - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Variety playhouse is tucked in the funky little corner of Atlanta, little 5 points (not to be confused with 5 points!!) Variety hosts a broad assortment of artists, well-known and obscure alike. Its great location and intimate feel make for an always great time. Parking can be a little weird, with spots scattered all over the place. Get there early, find a spot to park in, grab some yummy food and enjoy a great craft beer selection at one of the local bars, and have fun people-watching! JJ always puts on a great show! He loves Atlanta and feeds off of the energy of the crowd, which is an eclectic assortment of folks, from 50-something Florida natives to bearded hippy-types, to college kids who love funky tunes. JJs "swamp rock " sound is a unique blend of southern rock, blues, soul, and funk. Its earthy sound will keep you coming back for more. Highly recommend his live music over his studio versions.

Did not play DirtfloorCracker and Fireflies which are his best two songs, i am puzzled and perplexed ! Brought friends and we were pumped to hear this band, very disappointed !

Great show, tons of energy! Surprised they didn't play Georgia Warhorse.

  • JJ Grey and Mofro rocked!

We learned of this group through a waiter in Portland, ME, this summer, and they quickly became a Pandora favorite station. So much better in person! Loved the energy, loved the musicality, loved JJ's voice. Would go to see them anywhere, but the Variety was perfect. Made friends with the people in the row ahead of us. Perfect night.
