great time and reminds me of those good old hot Southern days with family and friends listening to great music!
Eric Krasno and band were a great opener and started the crowd with a good soulful vibe. JJ Grey and Mofro absolutely rocked the club and were so entertaining and absolutely amazing sounding. They are, hands-down, one of the best performances that I've ever seen.
Amazing venue to see one of my favorite bands. They were SPECTACULAR!!!
Awesome show! JJ Grey gets better and better each time I see him perform.
Love the Paradise such a nice intimate venue. Got there a little late doors at 7 me at 730. just a few people in the room so I get a nice spot right at the stage. Nice that the dise works their heating and cooling right. as the room fills it's not 95 degrees like in some places. Eric Krasno Band takes the stage, I've never heard them before. They do a great set. Crowds getting bigger. Nice Vibes everyone just having a good time. Short break inbetween and the place is now packed. JJ Grey hit the stage running and it just never stopped. So much fun and such a talented band. Great horns, keys, guitars slides and the cutest bass player! Todds so sweet. They had whole place dancing and singing the whole time. So many smiles it was perfect. If your thinking of seeing them please do it! Soooo much fun!
I've seen the best of the best from Clapton to King, Stevie Ray, Robert Cray and Ronnie Earl. The list goes on. This was my first Mofro show. How this guy slipped under my radar for so long amazes me. It also was my first trip to the Rock Club. It was a perfect venue for this show. I was front and center and the acoustics were fantastic. I'd love to see them get booked at the Blues N Brews fest this August at Nashoba Valley. Either way this won't be the last time I see JJ!
A definite must-see band. The band was very personable, engaging the audience from the first song. Very talented musicians. They played for close to two hours! There was never a time when the show was boring. Great mix of new songs and old favorites. The sound mix was much better for JJ Grey than for Sister Sparrow. I couldn't understand any of the opening band's lyrics.
This bluesy rock band rattled my soul! Big sound from these guys. Loved every minute. Not surprised a bit when a couple Southern guys told me this band is big in the South. JJ Grey brought us into his living room while jamming in the D.
JJ Grey & Mofro are awesome! So impressed with the pure talent and enthusiasm they exude. Truly a great band.
I've been going to their shows since I first saw them open for Ben Harper back about 10 years ago. The music has changed over the years but it always remains true to the original sound. This is my favorite band to see in concert. The energy is always there and the band truly seems to enjoy themselves. I haven't downloaded the River yet, but the songs they played at House of Blues were very promising!! Love you guys, keep on trucking!!
I've been wanting to see JJ Grey and Mofro in concert for years, but they haven't come to Ohio or anywhere convenient to be able to go see them. It was well worth the wait!! JJ was in great spirits, and the band all seemed to have fun. They absolutely jammed -- so much fun to see and hear them finally!! I will go see them any chance I get, and can't wait until they come back to Ohio again!!
Awesome from start to finish. ALL KILLER NO FILLER! JJ fed off the unexpected energy of the crowd and reciprocated it right back down thru the music. Most acts sound worse live than on the record but these guys are better live! Was a fan before but am a true believer now. THIS IS REAL MUSIC - NO BUBBLE GUM OVERDUBBED BS HERE.Will definitely be back to see again. AMAZING! SWAMP FUNK FOREVER!!!!!
JJ was wonderfull worth the 3 hour drive to get there. Great new cd as well.
Fantastic show!!! Great energy with fantastic musical talent! I love their funky sound and fun lyrics. Great groovy dance music! I can't wait to see them again!!
I love JJ Grey, but esp love seeing him at Saint Andrews! You feel very close to them and as always, they put on a great show. Can't wait for their return!
One of the best JJ shows I've seen! Whole band jammed from beginning to end. JJ was on fire!
Blues Funk, meets Rock:-)...such a great show, the level of talent this band displays is amazing!!! The show was high energy and the crowd was hoppin. Never disappointed with Jj Grey and Mofro and the bluebird such a great venue for this band, intimate.
My wife and I came from Ohio and were not disappointed! He brought and gave everything with his soulful vocals, funky guitar licks, uplifting message, and enthusiasm. Mofro plays with heart, soul, and pure joy that is palpable to the audience. We can't wait to see him again!
This was our first time seeing J.J. Grey and Mofro. And IT WON'T BE THE LAST!!! This guy is SO good at what he does. I heard his recorded music and was impressed. The live music just BLOWS it away. I don't have enough kind words to say about this group of musicians. From the drums, to the guitar work, to the horns, to J.J. Grey's vocals...it all works very well together. I can't wait to see them again. We got there early, got up front, and saw them the way I was told to go see them....Up close and personal. I'm happy we went to the effort of getting there early.
JJ Grey and Mofro were awesome. Each band member demonstrates amazing musicianship. They have fun while performing. Doesn't feel over-rehearsed and they don't rely on theatrics. Pure raw genius. Opening act Swamp Cabbage was awesome. Got to get their albums. Thumbs up to Southern Rock!
