Awesome show. It was obvious that the band was having a great time. Can't wait to see them on New Years in Orlando.
Great show, intimate venue. Nice to see the band in FL with a hometown crowd. Band was great live....not a studio band that only sounds good after the 10th take...these guys play well and play well together. Not the fault of the band, but BB king's Layfayette room' bar menu was limited beer and the food was chips and salsa or 'meat and cheese'. Many people ordered food out or brought it in. Also, got higher priced table seats thru ticketmaster...behind a column blocking all view of the stage! Zero viz for $40 per person? Floor manager moved us to great seats.
JJ Grey and Mofro once again put on an unbelievable performance. This band is the best touring act I know of at the moment. The heart and soul poured into the performance transports the listener to a much better place. Songs like This River and Lochloosa are timeless classics that will certainly be favorites of future generations of fans.
JJ Grey & Mofro are at their best in small venues where it is a bit more intimate. This show was great. Lafayett's Music Room needs some updating but that shouldn't be held against the artist.
One if the best shows I've ever seen. They are incredible! And Lafayette is such an awesom venue.
I have long wanted to see this group. Their music is fun, beautiful and just fantastic. It amazes me that I was able to see them at the Stone Pony. I do not understand how JJ Grey and Mofro are not plating venues like the Garden, but that is oh so much better for us. Thanks JJ for an awesome evening and for making the night everything I had hoped it would be. Keep on doing what you do. With deep gratitude.......Lauren.
Electric show as always-brought the next generation and they loved it!
This event was awesome! Loved the intimate setting. JJ Grey & Mofro were outstanding, they sounded fantastic. Great turnout, I was thrilled he finally came to NJ!
One of the best friggin shows ever! The closest thing to a revival I've ever been a part of! And churchs are closing down all over the country. Thanks JJ Grey & Mofro... Kick ass.
I've seen JJ Grey a few times, but Saturday night in AC was special. He brought his "A "game and showed the Revel crowd how a simple lad from the Florida swamps can Rock! Can't wait to see him at the Peach Festival later this summer
The entire show was great. For some reason I didn't expect them all to play together but they did and sounded great. They took turns taking lead. The theater is a great, intimate venue but the service is HORRIBLE! I managed to get our waitress to bring me two beers over the course of 3+ hours.
GREAT NIGHT. Seeing these guys play together, but separate (as in doing their individual songs) was a treat. Having seen some of them play together and separate before -- this was yet another slice of their tremendous abilities and talent. Also nice to have the sound stripped down where you could hear every word, laugh, and note.
This was SSA's last show on their tour, and they absolutely destroyed it. Brilliant, brilliant show that ended on an incredible note when Marc Broussard sang his last song a cappella, without a mic, straight emotion to the crowd. I came in a huge Marc fan, but now am a huge fan of the other three guys - especially JJ Grey!
I went to see Marc. I am now a fan of J.J., Anders, and Luther!
I have honestly probably been to over 200 shows in my life, and this one may have been the very best. The four performers were amazing. I was interested and intrigued the entire time. I did not want it to end. I hope they come together again for a tour. I would have paid double for my ticket. They were THAT good. Venue was great, no problems.
So glad I bought tickets to this event. It was great.
Yet another amazing show put on by JJ Grey & Mofro. They are fast becoming my new "it" band altho I have been following them for years. The band seemed a little tired and didn't perform with their usual high energy and great smiles. JJ was stoked because his daughter/family with there with him . It's so refreshing to see him in such a good place - his attitude about life in general is a breath of fresh air. If you've never seen 'em - don't miss 'em. You won't regret it!
I discovered Mofro only recently and so it was great timing that they played in San Francisco last weekend. J.J. Grey performs with great commitment and his band is very well-synced in all ways. Their music is definitely the blues, but not traditional blues, no 12-bar progressions. Maybe soulful is a better word, but with a strong element of southern blues.
Something was clicking with JJ, Mofro and the Crowd Friday night! JJ's voice was flaming and he...as he always does...gave it all up for the fans. I have seen hundreds and hundreds of concerts in my life and I have never watched and artist shed emotional tears while singing! Inspiring! I only wish he would play more often, we wouldn't ever think on missing it!
Amazing show again. Can't wait until they come back!!!
