A fabulous guitarist and great old fashioned music.
GREAT PERFORMANCE, FANTASTIC SOUND SYSTEM, REASONABLY PRICED DRINKS AND SNACKS, WONDERFUL & INTIMATE VENUE……………… HORRIBLE / UNCOMFORTABLE SEATS. TAFT THEATER, INVEST IN SOME MORE COMFORTABLE PORTABLE SEATING. I WOULD LOVE TO RETURN TO SEE OTHER ARTISTS AT THE TAFT, BUT THE SEATS HAVE TO BE IMPROVED.
Attended this Jimmie Vaughn show with the sole intent of watching one of the best guitarist alive and wasn't disappointed. While the genre of music, Texas Swing/Rockabilly isn't my typical taste I thoroughly enjoyed this performance. Molly Winters was the opening act and she reminded me a lot of Patsy Cline with her vocals and I see a bright future for this young lady. This was my first time seeing Jimmie Vaughn and I understand the accolades he receives for his guitar work. I've seen some of the best guitarist in the world perform live and Jimmie is second to none. He doesn't go off on solo's and lose the song he is a master at incorporating his guitar work with the music. The Tilt-A-Whirl band and Lou Ann Barton were exceptional as well.
Overall it was a good show. Jimmy seemed a little rusty at the start. The sound was not balanced. Jimmy's guitar was much louder than any other player and his microphone. As the show went on the band seemed to come together . It was a good show and would go see again.
Jimmie L Vaughn & his band, still playing that Texas, swing & jump blues! Rockin the house! Tip on in,, I'm Itching & don't know where to scratch, come on baby, scratch my back! Loved the show! But a damn shame the IP time is from 8-10, no exceptions! Keep on playing that Butt Rockin music, JVL!!
OUTSTANDING SHOW ! Great value for the dollar. Both acts were very entertaining and very talented.
Jimmie and tilt a whirl were awesome. Can't beat a show of this caliber for the money. Even with his voice being a bit under the weather,He put on a phenomenal show.
Jimmie has a unique blues style that I find really appealing. No one else plays like him and his band was top notch. The show really took a downward turn when he brought out Betty Lou Barnes or whatever her name was. It was like watching Yoko Ono with Lennon. Fortunately she left after a few songs and the night was redeemed. The opener Dive House Union was also a highlight, these guys can play.
Was able to attend a recent Jimmie Vaughan show at The Tralf in Buffalo, NY, and so very happy that I did. I am a huge Stevie Ray fan, but wasn't lucky enough to have seen him prior to his death. This is the second time that I have seen Jimmie and he was extraordinary. Absolutely love his playing style and he had a great band with him. Unfortunately, I believe he was sick and his voice was not cooperating with him. He did his best, which was awesome, and brought Lou Ann Barton out to sing with him, which was a huge bonus for me, as I have never seen her and I don't believe she was on the bill for this venue! She is wonderful, what a voice. The two of them have a lot of history and they meshed very well on stage, the songs they did together were great. I hope to catch Jimmie, and maybe Lou Ann, again very soon!
I loved the show and I had so much fun there. The people were so friendly . People were so helpful and kind. YES I would go again. I'm just sorry I missed BB King 3 weeks ago!! I Love Jimmie Vaughan!!!!! Please go if you are or not a Blues Lover The Owner is Great and a fun loving person Happy Birthday!!!!!
Great show as expected. Lou Ann Barton and Jimmie Rocked the place. Super total band full of great solos and surprises. Absolutely Great venue!
Great show. The Tilt A Whirl band was unreal. And the lovely Lou Ann Barton coming on stage was a very sweet icing on this greazy, grindy, rippin blues cake. The club is very intimate, so it feels like they are playing directly to you. Great times, man.
Jimmie Vaughn is an overrated artist. Jimmie and his band played BAD that night.
Good show, fun, cool, nice evening. I'd go again. Sound was best I've ever heard at any live show ever.
Band Sounded Great ,From the horn section to the acoustic ,electric bass, drums, vocalists, guitars were crisp and clean and jammin. Elite Blues Band Songs ranged from Jimmie's to Stevies and old favrorites.
Sophisticated, sexy, funny, must see. His rhythm guitar player is the best. Jimmie is playing the tastiest guitar out there. Horn section nailed it.
What's to review? If you like Jimmie Vaughan then you already know what a great, upbeat show he puts on. The show was energetic and well played. The Tilt A Whirl Band was GREAT. Lou Ann Barton guested for about 6-8 of the numbers. Amazing voice and fun with Jimmie. He played many of the old favorites and a bunch off his upcoming CD and CD released last year. Very well rounded, fun, professional show.
This was my 4th time seeing Jimmie Vaughan and possibly my favorite. The rhythm section and horn players were stellar. The band delivered without a hitch and Jimmie was effortlessly in top form. Just a true professional delivering quality music.
loved the music, the atomsphere, Jimmy very entertaining. enjoyed his guitar and the young lady that accompanied him later to sing. actually, Jimmy playing the guitar and her singing was the better part of the show. I think it allowed him to demonstrate his ability to play the guitar and not have to sing. The sax players were out of this world, the band in whole peformed exceptionally well.
Jimmie Vaughan didn't disappoint! He astounded the crowd with new songs from his upcoming CD due to release 7/26. Lou Ann Barton joined him again and sang duets that were true crowd Pleasers! There is only one complaint; it had nothing to do with Jimmie's performance. The Coach House definitely has to update their venue. It was miserably HOT in the building. Apparently there is no air conditioning and if there is, it certainly wasn’t working! Way to uncomfortable and I am sure the performers had a problem as well. Jimmie was awesome! What a PRO! He is a very humble person too that truly appreciates his fans. That's what I love most of all about him. He's not too full of himself to take the time and greet his fans. Jimmie you ROCK!!!
