Jim Parkers Songwriters Series Tickets

This was a first for me and I was not disappointed. It was awesome to hear the stories behind songs and the song writers. I would definitely do it again.

Nice intimate setting with songwriter/musicians. VBC staff are awesome from ticket takers to wait staff. This group of singer songwriters were awesome! Best we have seen this year.

We were treated to the show in the new MARS music venue, which was fantastic! Jim was ill and unable to host but the two gentleman that stood in for him did a great job. The show was great as always!

Ever been to The Bluebird, in Nashville? This is Huntsville's version. We get to meet some of the country's best songwriters, telling their stories and playing music that has topped music charts. The Playhouse is a great venue as well. The acoustics are good and they keep the volume at a good listening level. Definitely recommend it. Huntsville is lucky to have this event. Jim brings some really great talent to HSV. Thank you Jim!

My wife and I have seen quite a few Jim Parker events and they never disappoint! These shows are our favorite night out in Huntsville. We love to bring friends and introduce them and they always leave as fans and repeat visitors! Last Friday's show was one of the best we have seen yet! I told our friends that it was the wrong show to start on because it will be very hard to follow. We NEVER regret spending our money and time with Jim!

Although wanting to go for years, this was the first time we followed through. Ricky Ray being on the program was what inspired us to make the journey on a night forecast to be so cold. Ricky Ray and a couple others had to cancel due to weather and sickness but the "stand-ins" for this performance were amazing; all 3 are performers I would go out of the way to see/hear again. If you have not had the opportunity to attend any of the Jim Parker Songwriters Series events, there is one each month. We'll be there!

Why drive to Nashville and the Shoals and Memphis to hear great Showcase Music. Jim Parker Songwriters Showcase Hsv is fantastic! He has some of the best musicians coming from Nashville, The Shoals, and all around for us to enjoy, including himself, a great entertainer. One evening of performances stood out for me...Brice Long (who just won a huge Canadian Music Award), Phillip Whyte (as great a songwriter as it gets) and of course Jim Parker as well as the others performing. Their songs have been recorded by the best artists, including themselves. Being a local songwriter, I would not miss the Showcases. I don't perform, I just go to enjoy. We are so fortunate to have it in Huntsville. Spread the word. Some great shows coming up. Check TicketMaster.

We have been to four song writer's series and enjoyed all of them. The last one was the exception. The opening act was so high, you could not understand her and when you could, she didn't make sense. (Most of the opening acts have not been very good.) The guy in the plaid shirt was very good. My wife really enjoyed him. (Randy Houser fan) Jim's friend could have at least worn clean pants. The man in the white shirt didn't seem to care. Oh well, we will be at the next show.

Truly a show for all ages and tastes. You never know what you're going to hear! We finally went a few months ago and don't plan to miss it from now on.

The Jim Parker Songwriter Series is always a fantastic evening. It is intimate and a great evening listening to great music and really hearing about the creative process of a songwriter.

Everything was great except obnoxious behavior of Stampley. Always seems to be one in every show that wants all of the attention

Great event!!! Best part for me was the Sweet Tea Trio!!! What an awesome talent they have and such sweet girls!!! Hope to see them again real soon!!!

Fantastic show! 5 singer songwriters traded stories and songs for 4 hours! Not one single dull moment!

This concert will have me following both Jim Parker's events as well as Runaway Home. First Jim Parker performed with several individuals who sounded great even though they apparently don't regularly perform together. Then Runaway Home performed two sets of wonderful music. If this group is representative of the caliber of artist Jim Parker showcases, I am sorry I have not discovered him sooner. Runaway Home is an amazing combination of talent whose synergy produces a great sound I am glad to have discovered.

The onset was awesome and will plan to return each month for more :) I wished the musicians had accepted credit cards to purchase CDs. :( Thanks for a wonderful evening!

I cannot give a higher rating. All three songwriters were different. They were all incredible in their own right. And, there is something special when an entertainer can leave you breathless and silent with just a singer and a guitar. No light show was needed. It was brilliant.

We really enjoyed listening to the three visiting song writers. It was fun to hear some of the history behind the writing of the songs. We recognized so many of the lyrics. I could have missed listening to Jim Parker perform as much as the featured song writers. He should have introduced the guests, sang a song, and left the rest of the evening to the guest perfomers. I didn't find his performance anywhere near the level of accomplishment as the other three. More time could have been spent on them.

I first heard Steve at the Blue Bird Cafe in Nashville a few years ago and was very excited to hear him again. He is such an amazing talent. Kim Parent was also fantastic. I had not heard her before... a very pleasant surprise with great vocal range, tone, and control. And what can I say about Bobby Tomberlin... a great southern voice with real life stories to tell. Excellent show! Thanks!
