    Gaffigan was hilarious!

by esweeney on 7/14/09The MGM Grand at Foxwoods - Mashantucket

He gave us an hour and a half of laughs. Every line was funnier than the previous one. At one point, he had a guy in the audience who kept yelling "JIM!" and he finally ad-libbed a great bit about the guy and had everyone roaring. We're planning to see him every time he comes to town.

    Jim for life!

by suflower on 7/13/09Mahalia Jackson Theater of the Performing Arts - New Orleans

I have only ever seen Jim Gaffigan on TV and seeing him in person was even better than I hoped! After the show, so many events in my life now happen with Jim Gaffigan jokes narrating the scene in the background making me smile. Every time I go to the movies and people in front of me comment on the previews I cant help laughing! Oh Jim!

    as seen on TV

by kretpa on 7/13/09Mahalia Jackson Theater of the Performing Arts - New Orleans

Great show but if I would have known it was the same exact routine that had been playing on Comedy Central in the weeks leading up to the event I either would have not watched the Comedy Central special or not spent $50 on a ticket. I paid to see something I'd already seen.

    Jim Gaffigan --- Hilarious

by Sugars1 on 7/13/09Mahalia Jackson Theater of the Performing Arts - New Orleans

I never expected to laugh as long or as hard as I did watching Jim's show. I thought having seen his act on TV, I would have seen alot of what he was going to perform, but I was wrong. My husband, daughter and I laughed so hard our faces hurt. I would see him again in a heartbeat.

His set was funny from start to finish. I love the jokes about the salads.... That was the first time in that theater too. It was very nice and the parking was a breeze.

    Laugh to you cry!!

by camjo on 7/13/09Mahalia Jackson Theater of the Performing Arts - New Orleans

Jim was great. Just was expected. Would see him every time he will come to town. The only problem was the sound from the microphone was muffled sometimes. The M. Jackson theater need to work on their sound system.

Jim Gaffigan is a funny phenom!

by WendyB on 7/13/09Mahalia Jackson Theater of the Performing Arts - New Orleans

What a fantastic night we had at Jim's show! My family and I have loved watching his comedy specials on TV, but we were thrilled to see him live. We had an evening of laughs and can't wait until he comes back to New Orleans or somewhere close again! We think of him every time we pass a Waffle (Awful) House, Popeyes, or see Hot Pockets in the store! Keep up the fun, Jim, and come back soon!

    Much more than "Hot Pockets"!!!

by CTRich on 7/13/09The MGM Grand at Foxwoods - Mashantucket

Jim Gaffigan's latest show was absolutly hilarious. We experienced lots of new material to keep us laughing along with his classics! If you are unfamiliar with Jim, his comedy is incredibly funny without being crude. His presentation of his routine is unlike any other, by use of his third party voices and comments. We would highly recommend his act for anyone looking for a fun night out!

    Jim Gaffigan in NOLA

by Kman4321 on 7/13/09Mahalia Jackson Theater of the Performing Arts - New Orleans

I really like Jim Gaffigan but I had heard or seen more than 80% of his material before. Other than that, great show. He could have done some material about New Orleans, there is so much cool unique stuff to comment on and lots of stuff to make fun of.

    More new material, please!

by RobieCat on 7/13/09The MGM Grand at Foxwoods - Mashantucket

I think Gaffigan is probably the funniest comedian working today. I like him enough to have watched his DVD's over and over again, and unfortunately, that's what this show was like - at least 85% old material, delivered with the same inflection and gestures as in his concert films. Sure, it's good to hit some "greatest hits", but I think Mr. Gaffigan can safely assume most of the audience is familiar with his Comedy Central material and move on to new stuff.

    Absolutely Hilarious!

by IvyNJohn on 7/13/09Mahalia Jackson Theater of the Performing Arts - New Orleans

We loved the opening act. Gaffigan was hilarious, which we already knew. Had a wonderful time. Sad it ended so fast. Would love to see him visit again. New Orleans needs more comedians to visit.

    good, but not great

by jeffjb91 on 7/12/09Mahalia Jackson Theater of the Performing Arts - New Orleans

Gaffigan's stand up at the Mahalia Jackson theater was good. He delivered what any fan of his would expect; quirky anecdotes about the simply things in life. However, a large part of the material was recycled from other sets, such as the comedy central special of his titled 'King Baby'. To a fan already familiar with such material, it won't be a spectacular show. The hot pocket and bacon jokes will be all too familiar, and you'll find yourself saying, "Oh yeah.. I heard this one already," every couple of minutes. To someone completely unfamiliar with Gaffigan, it could prove to be a very satisfying show. However, of all comedians to see live, Gaffigan is not someone you should go out of your way for. He doesn't move around or do very much visually that you would otherwise miss from simply listening to a cd of his. Also, in a very large theater like the Mahalia Jackson, you're lucky if you're close enough to even see his facial expressions. Therefore, overall I would have to say this was an average show. It was satisfying, but familiar. To a new fan, I would reccomend this show. To fans familiar with Gaffigan's material, just go ahead and get his cd.

Great Show, but venue sound was not great.

by chadmelder on 7/12/09Mahalia Jackson Theater of the Performing Arts - New Orleans

Gaffigan was superb. However, the sound at the Mahaila Jackson theater was not good at all. Very echo sounding and not clear.
