About

"We are not stand-up comedians. Our show is not a passive, sit-back-and-watch experience. Most of the fun we have on stage comes from our inclusion of the audience – we get suggestions from them to begin each scene we perform, and in certain instances, bring them on-stage with us to add to our performance. It's less a ‘show’ and more a party. At least it feels like one to me. This group of actors brings me right back to how I started out in comedy – maybe that's why we have so much fun doing it." – Jim Belushi

With more than thirty years of experience and an alumnus of “Saturday Night Live” and Chicago’s famed Second City, JIM BELUSHI is now bringing to the stage an improvised comedy sketch show featuring members of the Board of Comedy.

Belushi starred on the ABC hit comedy "According to Jim,” on which he also served as executive producer, music composer and director. After wrapping 182 episodes for its eighth and final season, the family favorite series also hit a milestone when it launched into off-net syndication in 2007. A favorite of film, television and stage audiences, Belushi is one of the great leading character actors equally at home in drama and comedy, and a gifted performer who can also hold a room as front man of a rhythm and blues band. Accompanying Belushi are Megan Grano, Larry Joe Campbell, Brad Morris, and Joshua Funk*, all of whom are classically trained professional improvisers who tour regularly nationwide.

    Waste of money

by cashew55 on 3/4/13Rialto Square Theatre - Joliet

I thought Belushi was good in the beginning when he just talked to the audience. That was pretty funny but most of the comedy looked forced. The improv that they tried to interact with the crowd was mostly not funny. I left the Rialto like someone had just picked my pocket for $100 bucks.

    Jim Belushi et al fantastic!

by KeepEmSmiling on 3/4/13Rialto Square Theatre - Joliet

Jim Belushi's home town charm here in the Chicago suburbs and his comfortable, easy-going banter drew the audience in and made the large theater feel intimate and engaged with him. His "board" of comedians was witty and hilarious, all working together to provide a memorable evening of entertainment. Would definitely see him again!

Belushi Show was just what I needed for laughs!!

by laughmore54 on 3/4/13Rialto Square Theatre - Joliet

Jim Belushi, his son Robert, and the rest of the Chicago Board of Comedy, was pretty quick-witted. Also, engaging the audience for their bits made for more fun!! I'm glad Jim and Company enjoyed their 1st "Night at The Rialto". Unfortunately, the show kind of fizzled at the end. Great tribute to his brother, Joliet Jake, at the end of show.

Jim Belushi & Chicago Boards of Comedy was so-so!

by philwojo on 3/4/13Rialto Square Theatre - Joliet

While the night wasn't horrible, there really wasn't anything "great" about it either. We laughed we had fun, but overall I would only give this 3-stars as a performance. I know it is improv but it just wasn't as smooth as some others we have seen. We wouldn't pay to go back again, especially for the price and only about an hour and 10-15 minutes worth of a show.

    Great but a little disappointed

by Bentleyurb on 3/4/13Rialto Square Theatre - Joliet

It was a great show, I love Jim Belushi and Larry Campbell. This show was done as Improv. I thought each one would of been on the stage individually. That is where I was disappointed. Show was 1 1/2hrs. A little short.

    Jim Belushi

by PatJoliet on 3/4/13Rialto Square Theatre - Joliet

This show seemed like a second thought to these guys. They flew by the seat of their pants and it showed. I will never go to see Jim Belushi in person again. It was not worth the price of the ticket. Very Bad Pat

    Waste of money

by Leanachild on 3/3/13Riolta - Joliet

The show was only 70 minutes long. It started 10 minutes late. I got to the show at 8 and was in my car on my way home at 9:20. It was improv. They struggled the whole show. Wasn't funny at all. We were very disappointed. Would never go see him again,

Jim Belushi and Chicago Board of Comedy was BAD

by Anonymous on 3/3/13Rialto Square Theatre - Joliet

Excited to see Jim Belushi at the Rialto Square Theatre on 03/02/2013 in Joliet, IL. Sad to say, it was a HUGE disappointment. I was embarassed and felt bad for all the comedians on stage. It was not your typical stand up, but comdeic improvisational . It seemed like it was their first show and they were working out the bugs. Sadly, I can say it was an unorganized train wreck! It was great to see Jim Belushi and he seemed very excited to be back in Chicago and the Joliet area. It was his first time at this venue and he loved the theatre. The crowd was enthusiastic at first, then you could hear people around you talking about "when is this going to get funny". The improv performances lasted less than 1 1/2 hours total. Very short performance, but I was ready to leave after the first 15-20 minutes. All I can say is IMPROV is not for everyone. Just because you are a good/great "stand up" comedian doesn't make you great at comedic improv. Stay away from this show. Jim, we still LOVE you man. DO STAND UP!!

Wish it was just Jim Belushi

by morejokes on 8/6/12Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - Reno

I thought it would be Jim Belushi doing stand up and some blues, which would have been awesome. I didn't realize there were going to be 7 people trying to be clever (and struggling). My bad for not knowing what to expect.

    Belushi was awesome!!

by Mannyandkat on 8/6/12Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - Reno

Jim Belushi gave a stand-up performance not to be forgotten. Not a traditional stand up concert but and amazing interactive Improv with the audience. His talent & training glowed through the entire show!! We also love getting to see his son in action as well as his buddy,Larry. So glad we had this opportunity!! What a wonderful way to spend the weekend!!
