About

"We are not stand-up comedians. Our show is not a passive, sit-back-and-watch experience. Most of the fun we have on stage comes from our inclusion of the audience – we get suggestions from them to begin each scene we perform, and in certain instances, bring them on-stage with us to add to our performance. It's less a ‘show’ and more a party. At least it feels like one to me. This group of actors brings me right back to how I started out in comedy – maybe that's why we have so much fun doing it." – Jim Belushi

With more than thirty years of experience and an alumnus of “Saturday Night Live” and Chicago’s famed Second City, JIM BELUSHI is now bringing to the stage an improvised comedy sketch show featuring members of the Board of Comedy.

Belushi starred on the ABC hit comedy "According to Jim,” on which he also served as executive producer, music composer and director. After wrapping 182 episodes for its eighth and final season, the family favorite series also hit a milestone when it launched into off-net syndication in 2007. A favorite of film, television and stage audiences, Belushi is one of the great leading character actors equally at home in drama and comedy, and a gifted performer who can also hold a room as front man of a rhythm and blues band. Accompanying Belushi are Megan Grano, Larry Joe Campbell, Brad Morris, and Joshua Funk*, all of whom are classically trained professional improvisers who tour regularly nationwide.

We had a very nice evening. The show was very entertaining and funny. I would say it was very good, not great. But I would definitely go again, especially with a small group of friends.

Worth seeing again! My daughter and I laughed throughout the show! Telling each other as we left the show, it went by quick and my jaws hurt from smiling and laughing so much!!

    Expected routiness.

    by LB47 on 1/16/18Genesee Theatre - Waukegan

It was good to be in the audience of Jim Belushi. The pre-show announcements were hilarious. He opened with good jokes and then turned to the audience to chat and get material that would be used in the performance of his ad lib company. Spontaneous audience interaction added nicely to this part of the show. The improvisational performances were interesting, but in the second half of the show it became more rowdy: loud, fast whatever. But still some creative entertainment was there too. The audience had a good time.

    Improv isn't for me

    by maf426 on 1/16/18Genesee Theatre - Waukegan

Jim's show was all improv. I had never been to an improv show. While all the comedians had exceptional talent, I was not engaged in the act, despite the audience participation. Many of the jokes fell flat and much of the content was repetition, or like beating a dead horse. I had high hopes but unfortunately the show fell flat.

    Belushi

    by Skippy702 on 9/29/17Ho-Chunk Gaming-WI-Dells - Baraboo

I thought the show was boring. There was one funny skit where the group would pick up slips of paper off the ground and have to immediately bring that into a conversation. That was funny, but the rest of the show was nothing special at all. Even the casino free play that came with the ticket didn't pay off. There definitely were better ways for me to spend my Saturday night. What a waste.

Jim Belushi Comedy Show was a disappointment.

    by dmc65 on 9/28/17Ho-Chunk Gaming-WI-Dells - Baraboo

This show at Ho-Chunk Casino in WI. Dells was poorly organized. Even if you bought tickets (including VIP tickets) you had to wait in a long line with everyone else to pick up your tickets. There was only 1 person at the ticket table! They advertised people being in the show that were not there. Only two others besides Jim, gave the show. Unfortunately, it wasn't even that funny. The audience was more vulgar than anything I have heard, and I am not a prude about that kind of thing. I definitely would not recommend the show, but more importantly, I will never go to another performance at Ho-Chunk!

    Jim Belushi was amazing!

    by Cmalt45375 on 9/27/17Ho-Chunk Gaming-WI-Dells - Baraboo

The show was alot of fun. I had seen him once before in Chicago at the Vic theatre when he toured with Dan Aykroyd. This time he brought the improve to the Dells. I also want to say that unlike other performers he stayed after the show to sign autographs. Granted you had to pay for the autograph, but his sincerity shined through as he looked up at each individual. A true performer.

It was a great show, funny and entertaining. Andy did not show up, which was disappointing. We were not allowed to take any pictures.

    Laughed our butts off!

    by Dkearney83 on 9/27/17Ho-Chunk Gaming-WI-Dells - Baraboo

The show was excellent, the only problem was the venue. Ho-Chunk needs to find a better way to do will-call. I will not see another show until the wait time is drastically reduced.

Jim Belushi Puts on a Good Show

by Alexander333 on 8/1/17Resorts Atlantic City - Atlantic City

The Jim Belushi comedy show at the Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City was a wonderful experience. He and his fellow comedians put on a great improv performance that was both topical and funny. I would definitely recommend for anyone who likes to laugh.

    Beautiful Theater but Terrible Show!

by Ashtyn on 4/4/16Mystic Lake Casino Hotel - Prior Lake

The Mystic Lake Theater is beautiful! All the seats are good and comfortable! But we were extremely disappointed by the show. First of all, the tickets cost $56 with all the added costs...now that isn't that high priced but for that amount we expected some good entertainment and a fair length to the show. It was supposed to start at 8:00 p.m. but didn't start until 8:15 p.m. and then the intermission was already at 8:55 p.m. and that went for at least 20 minutes. When they finally came back on, it was approximately 9:25 p.m. and then the show only went to 10:15 p.m. So we got a total of only 90 minutes of comedy. And I am using the term "comedy" lightly. It was really more like a rambling of comedy without much form especially in the first half. The second half was somewhat better. The best part was the very beginning of the show when Jim Belushi came down through the theater playing his harmonica and singing. He should have done more of that throughout the show! I guess I had much higher expectations. I would not recommend this show to anyone and I would not attend this show again

Not what i expected-Late Start too

by MelanieJo on 4/4/16Mystic Lake Casino Hotel - Prior Lake

This was not what i expected. My bad for not reading up on the performance ahead of time. The act started 15 minutes late with no apologies. The act included an intermission? The intermission break restarted late again. This must be a common theme. The laughs were sometimes hard to find. This is an improv act-be forewarned before you buy your tickets. Bring your own laugh tracks to fill in the missing gaps. I would not attend a comedy improv act again, knowingly. I am surprised they would charge this much for this type of performance with a late start and a super long intermission that is not common for comedy acts. Very disappointed in the performance, the late starts and the lack of what should have been a funny laugh till it hurs nite.
