Much like the African Diaspora, Jidenna's music proudly encompasses a wide range of vibes, ranging from Afrobeats, funk, R&B, to hip-hop. This kaleidoscope of cultures, eras, and sounds cemented the GRAMMY® nominated multi-platinum rapper, singer, songwriter, producer, and actor as an international sonic pioneer who quietly paved the way for the 21st century Afropolitan music revival. Regarding rap as a gentleman's sport, he applies eloquence and global consciousness to the culture with verbal excellence and style. by Gilmofo on 7/29/17Brighton Music Hall - BostonJidenna's easiest to identify as a hip hop artist, but that doesn't really capture what he does. I'd put him more in line with Childish Gambino. Yes, he does rap in most of his songs, but the songs are more melodic and complex than a collection of samples and beats, and even his raps are often more like singing. Performing, he brings the songs to life even more than in the recordings and on top of that he's a dynamic performer. Such a fantastic show and so lucky to see him in such a small venue.

I had never listened to his album before. WELL...... let's just say when I left the concert I was IN LOVE and downloaded the album right away. HE WAS GREAT!!!

Jidenna did not begin his performance until almost 9:30 after the first performer, who began at 8:30pm. More tickets could have been sold for this show as the venue still had a decent amount of space in it (although it was small to begin with). We enjoyed watching Jidenna do his thing with that charming smile and stylish clothing. I definitely would love to see him again. "Seats" were general admission. No need to assign them.

Security did a great job as did the folks keeping the venue clean and all lanes open. The bathrooms were clean and plenty of stalls. The sound was AWESOME! I will definitely fly back to CLT for another concert!
