Much like the African Diaspora, Jidenna's music proudly encompasses a wide range of vibes, ranging from Afrobeats, funk, R&B, to hip-hop. This kaleidoscope of cultures, eras, and sounds cemented the GRAMMY® nominated multi-platinum rapper, singer, songwriter, producer, and actor as an international sonic pioneer who quietly paved the way for the 21st century Afropolitan music revival. Regarding rap as a gentleman's sport, he applies eloquence and global consciousness to the culture with verbal excellence and style. Since 2015, he has distinguished himself as a rare talent equally at home on President Obama's playlist, the court at the 2020 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, or on-screen in HBO's Insecure and A Black Lady Sketch Show. Jidenna formally introduced himself with the double-platinum "Classic Man" garnering a GRAMMY® nomination for "Best Rap/Sung Collaboration." The song paved the way for his full-length debut, The Chief, which received praise from The New York Times. The 2019 follow-up, 85 To Africa, resonated globally attracting praise from Pitchfork, The Guardian, and Entertainment Weekly. In 2020, Jidenna contributed "Feng Shui" to Insecure: Season 4 soundtrack and "Black Magic Hour" to African On All Sides. Time hailed the latter among "The Best New Songs of July 2020" calling it "entrancing." Clocking just shy of 1 billion total streams and receiving worldwide acclaim, he continues to elevate the playing field with his new single "Blush" and forthcoming third album.

The energy in the theatre was amazing. The album is already a classic, so it was a given that the set list was great. His voice is actually better in person, which is rare these days. The guys backing him were all on point. From time to time they would come down and dance with him. The only complaint I had was the 45 minute wait between the last opening act and him hitting the stage.
From start to finish, the Classic Man showed the industry why he belongs at the forefront of emerging artists. From the showmanship down to the audience engagement, everyone who attended the show at the Mercury Ballroom was in awe.
Jidenna is an amazing artist and performer and he put on one hell of a show. His energy and charisma were palpable. The band and opening act were great as well. This concert was lit!
Jidenna was so good. The music was loud. The theatre was beautiful. The staff was nice. I was so happy to see J. I love all him. His opening acts and band were also amazing. It was overall such a good time.
I loved every minute of the Jidenna concert. The venue was up close for the audience to connect. The band was amazing and entertaining at the start till the encore.
He was lit and so was his crew! Lots of energy and so fun
This was by far the best concert that I've been to! It was truly electric. Can't wait to see him again.
I didn't have much of a background knowledge of Jidenna, but now I listen to his album everyday!
The Jidenna show was one of the best shows that I have been to in quite a while. He is an grear performer, was very energetic and interacted wonderfully with the crowd. I will be seeing him again in the future.
The show was AMAZING!!! Thank you, Jidenna!!!!!!!!
The show was amazing, Jidenna and his crew were full of energy and the crowd was hype as hell. Every song was a banger and and everyone in the crowd was feeling it. He even came down from the stage and I touched him!!! All in all amazing.
It's obvious from his first song that Jidenna is heavily stylized. And, quite frankly, after hearing the entirety of The Chief substance does follow that style. Still, the entirety of The Chief is quite stylized as well, and full of energy. However, I was skeptical whether he was up to the task of making that powerful sound live. To my pleasant surprise, he was. From beginning to end, it was a joy to watch!
I absolutely LOVED the show...minus the lack of AC in the venue. But, extreme heat aside, both of the opening acts set the stage for Jidenna well, and it was a great show from beginning to end. Definitely recommended.
Jidenna did such a great job! He looked and sounded great! The pretty much performed his whole album. I'd go see him again.
It was so incredible!!! All of the performances were high energy and everything meshed together really well.
He gave a great concert. The venue was hot, but it was a good event.
I loved this concert. Jidenna's energy was through the roof! Money well spent on these tickets.
I'll be back when he returns to D.C.! What an amazing performance! Best concert I've attended.
I loved Jidenna when I first realized he sang Classic Man and love him even more after this show.
