Jessie Reyez in Concert
Combining unapologetic lyrics with in-your-face vocals, Toronto-born singer-songwriter Jessie Reyez is one of pop's brashest personalities. Reyez played guitar as a child and realized she was a music writer while in high school. In 2014 she collaborated with Chicago-based MC King Louie on his Canada-saluting track "Living in the Sky." In 2016 she broke through on her own with "Figures," a stark post-breakup track paired with a gripping video that showcased Reyez's raw feeling. "Evoking emotion from people is always a byproduct," Reyez told Genius. "It's not like I aimed to do that, but it's a beautiful byproduct that happens to come from certain songs."
Now, as a recipient of a JUNO award, 2018 Breakthrough Artist of the Year, she could say her subsequent catalog has been an object lesson in releasing that byproduct. Her debut EP, 2017's 'Kiddo,' was steeped in feeling while also showing off her musical range and the delirious "Shutter Island" pairs her yowl with macabre carnival music, while "Great One" shows off her softer side, its plush synths allowing her to luxuriate in existential questions like "What is life? What is love? What is time? What is choice?" The harrowing 'Kiddo' track "Gatekeeper," accompanied by a short film that she cowrote, turned a #MeToo-worthy experience from years ago that almost led to her quitting the music business into an artistic triumph.
While gearing up for the release of her second EP, 'Being Human in Public,' Reyez has kept busy with guest appearances and relentless touring. Her reworking of "Figures," performed with fellow Canadian Daniel Caesar at the 2018 JUNO Awards, added a dramatic twist to the song's heartbroken narrative; her turn as Eminem's foil on the controversial MC's 2018 track "Nice Guy" shows how she can hold her own against music's biggest names; and her performances at festivals like Lollapalooza and Afropunk have electrified huge crowds. Reyez's rise is proof that pure feeling can be a powerful connector.

Solid show! Love her authenticity and the bash of the exes. Lol. Very timely! Definitely left better than I came.
The concert was amazing and Jessie was so engaged with the audience! The venue was easy to navigate, wasn't overwhelming, and beautiful.
Jessie reyez never disappoints I love her!! Great concert and amazing night
Jessie Reyez was amazing! The stage was great, great venue. Every song she was pouring out her soul. Had the time of my life!! 🤩
She was very interactive with the crowd, and the music was great; however, some people were obnoxious and started pushing around, especially one overweight woman, who was doing it on purpose, which was also expected.
Great time as always, she knows how to perform and engage the crowd, no problems accessing tickets and adding to wallet is a great feature. 2nd time seeing her and would go again!!!
Never thought I'd get to see Jessie Reyez!! She was amazing and so was this experience!!!
This was my first time in Austin so I wasn’t sure what the venue was going to be like. We first show up at 7 o’clock like the tickets say and the line is down the road and winding around a parking lot. Insane to say the least. As we walked by I was curious how they were going to fit this many people inside what looked like a small venue attached to a restaurant. Once we got in my fears were confirmed. The venue was outside and had gravel so it made it not only hot but a little dirty. Then it started raining, which isn’t anybody’s fault, that’s mother nature for you but when people try to take cover, they were told that they had to move unless they were buying a drink or food. Many people were passing out from the heat and a lot of fights broke out. The venue was at a downhill slope slightly but for somebody who is shorter like me and I’m 5’4”, you couldn’t really see the stage from where I was standing or most likely anywhere you stood, especially when she finally came out. Everyone would put their phone up so it would pretty much block the stage so if you were not taller than 5’10”, you probably didn’t see much Unless you were in the front or the very very back. The wait time for Jessie to come on was insane. They advertise the event to start at 7 and she didn’t come on until almost 9:30. Once she came on, she had an amazing show! Her opener was very talented as well, but there was a long wait between the opener and her. I will say she is an amazing singer in person and I would recommend seeing her to anybody but definitely never would go back to this venue ever again. I’m actually upset that I spent $80 and I know that was a cheaper ticket than I’m sure most people spent, to pretty much get rained on, yelled at and wait an insane amount of time to see one of my favorite artists. Most venues have seating for wait times like this, this was absolutely not an option here. Disappointed that they would even sell that many tickets to such a small venue with no seating and no way to protect yourself from the elements. Other than the venue, Austin was amazing and my friend and I had an amazing time there and we enjoyed listening to Jessie!
Truly artistic performance, one of a kind. Need to see her every single time now!!
She puts on an amazing performance!! She interacts with the crowd and is genuinely a very talented artist. We thoroughly enjoyed her show. Love love love her!! ❤️
Jessie Reyez was on fire!!! She has an amazing voice, great energy, and performed so many of her hits. She connected to the crowd with ease and set the pace that everyone followed for the rest of the night. The audience was very diverse, covering all age ranges, genders, and races. The one thing that all of these different audience members had in common was a love for great live music and they got that with this concert. Highly recommend catching this tour if you can.
This was my first time seeing Jessie Reyez, and it won’t be the last. She has an awesome set, great crowd engagement and of course her talent fills the room. I wish she did MEET AND GREETS. Please consider it Ms. Reyez.
Jessie was so interactive with my daughter. Made it the best night of her life! Her sound man made the night amazing as well. It was the perfect night, and the best concert! Her energy is unlike any I’ve seen.
Jessie was nothing short of amazing her show was Electrifying, intimate, welcoming , healing !! One of the best concerts I have ever been to and I’ve been to plenty. I will not miss a show of hers moving fwd . Nothing but praise from everyone that attended . One of the GOAT!
Honestly, I was looking forward to this show. I enjoy her music, but this show honesty was not worth the amount of money that I paid for the tickets. The ticket should’ve been $20 or less. Her opening act ended at 8:20 or 830 and she had us wait all the way until 9 o’clock she should’ve came on stage at eight 850. No music plan to hype her up was definitely not worth it. Very disappointed.
I go to concerts often. Hard rock is my favorite venue but Jessie Reyez has been my favorite show that I’ve been too!!
Jessie did a great performance. The venue was nice. I was surprised by the size. Great view. The opener was alright but I was there for Jessie Reyez and she didnt let me down.
Jessie is life. The concert she puts on is absolutely unbeatable.
