    True gem of a concert

by David on 9/17/19Webster Hall - New York

Don't get back to NYC often. So glad to be back in the neighborhood. Worked at the old Palladium for many a show, many a year ago... First time to actually see Jesse Malin and he, the band, the club blew me away!! More than I expected. Incredible energy emanating from the stage, sometimes personally delivered directly into the crowd by Jesse himself. The special guests were the very tasty icing on this musical cake! The show, the guests, the venue combined to create a wonderful gem of a musical experience most of us will never forget. Well done, Jesse!

    Jesse is always amazing 😉

by Cat on 5/20/19The Stone Pony - Asbury Park

He is tight and loose at the same time. Jesse manages to give credit to his inspiration and favorite artists, opening up a new world for his audience while simultaneously being totally current and cutting edge. His soul is present in every song but not in fake drippy way ,but in a powerfully committed way that can only be earned buy living through hours and a lifetime of heartbreak, hand holding and a secret generosity and commitment to maintain and art-form that was a way of life for New York City angels ,dreamers, lovers , family and Mavericks and knuckleheads alike

Show was scheduled for 7:00pm. Nobody was on stage on until almost 9:00 pm. The opening act (1 guy playing guitar), which sounded like a AGT reject. The next act had a rambling monologue, so after 2 hours of nothing, we left. Footnote, both the opening act and start of the second act, not one strummer or clash song was played, just their own originals.

    Never again

by ufatbasted on 1/1/16Bowery Ballroom - New York

I've seen Malin many times and he usually puts on a good show. This show was just plain terrible. He whiny singing voice was especially annoying. His stories which are usually entertaining were horrible.. His song selection was off too. He opened with a new song and it was downhill from there. It seems his new album is not very good. The high light was when Ryan Adams joined him on stage for 3 songs. The show so was bad I left early. Opening acts Hollis Brown and Don DiLego both but on very good shows.

Jesse Malin at Stone Pony 6/27/15

by tm65 on 6/30/15The Stone Pony - Asbury Park

This was our 2nd time seeing Jesse and again he did not disappoint. He puts on a great show, his band is tight and he sounds better live than recorded in my opinion. He set list included most of his new album but he always throws in a few older tunes and covers. Always enjoy some Ramones and Pogues!

    Jesse Malin Saved My Life...Again.

by Chivalrick on 4/17/15Bowery Ballroom - New York

I've been a lapsed Jesse Malin fan but on April 11, 2015 at the Bowery Ballroom, I found religion again. Everything that first drew me to the "church of being together" I found through Jessie's music was there that night. Great, friendly fellow fans, great opening acts, and most of all, Jesse's awesome showman ship, his passionate, creative music and poignant lyrics. I'm so happy to be back. Years ago I became a member of the "church of being together" when I first heard Jesse's anthem Brooklyn. Hearing the words, the arrangements, his vocal style I was an instant convert. His first solo albums, The Fine Art of Self Destruction, The Heat, and Glitter in the Gutter fed my soul in so many ways. Like many eager converts I would eventually fall away only to return more devote. I let life get in the way of being fan - a cardinal sin in the "church of being together." I can't thank Jesse Malin and the Bowery Ballroom enough for my chance at redemption.

    Exhilarating, simply exhilarating

by Karenin36 on 4/14/15Bowery Ballroom - New York

What an unforgettable first show at Bowery Ballroom! The whole experience was perfect top to bottom. From the moment you set foot on those stairs to when you first walk into the main stage, it feels like what raw, authentic old New York feels like. The magic truly began when Jesse began his set (after great openers, I might add). He performs with all the heart and soul of a true musician and lover of music. Such high energy, such joy to be up on stage doing what he was born to do. The small setting makes such an intimate listening vibe, which Jesse Malin makes even more special by joining the crowd. Without a doubt I'll be keeping my eyes open for his next show here.

    Jesse Malin rocked the Bowery

by Jaydon23 on 4/14/15Bowery Ballroom - New York

Jesse looked and sounded great and his smile never left his face. The new music is some of his best ever and the band really was tight including the horns . A must see for anyone on the fence about seeing him. Also a must have in any music lovers collection is New York Becore The War

    Jesse Malin's Triumphant Return Home

by HomegrownSundayRamble on 4/14/15Bowery Ballroom - New York

Saturday night at The Bowery Ballroom Jesse Malin and Steve Wynn and The Miracle Three literally blew the doors off a packed house showing what a great Rock & Roll show is all about. The sound was impeccable and the musicianship was extraordinary. This is the best show I've see this year so far. The show opened with a young Ryan Adams type Singer-Songwriter named Trapper Schoepp with barely a third of the room filled, but by the time Steve Wynn & The Miracle Three took the stage the place quickly filled up. Guitar rock at it's best, high energy, blistering guitar interaction between Steve Wynn and his long time guitar partner Jason Victor. Relentless, driving drums from my newest rock n roll infatuation Linda Pitmon and steady hard hitting bass from Dave DeCastro. I couldn't stop moving and I'm feeling it today. And the show was just getting started Jesse Malin started off with the single off the new record "Addicted" which his loyal fans have already known from his live performances over the last 18 months or so, but that the rest of the world just discovered within the last two weeks. He quickly followed that with one of his all time favorites "Wendy" from the record "The Fine Art of Deconstruction." Those two songs set the stage for what would be a marathon of great rock n roll mixed in with Jesse's occasional poet prophecies. It was mix of his new material and his most cherished songs from his career. Backed up by four other musicians, most notably Catherine Popper on bass who most recently played with the all girl alt country trio Puss n Boots but who is a seasoned and well traveled musician having played with Ryan Adams and the Cardinals, Levon Helm, Joseph Arthur, Michael Stipe, Rhett Miller, Mark Olson, Kevin Kinney, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals and Jack White. Jesse's long time partner Derek Cruz played an incredible lead guitar, there was also a keyboardist and animated three piece horn section. The new record has several hits on it including She Don't Love Me Now, Turn up the Mains(Dedicated to Mink Deville, Jim Carroll and Lou Reed), Boots of Immigration and Oh Sheena. He also did his most loved songs Brooklyn, Hotel Columbia, Burning on the Bowery, Almost Grown and All the Way to Moscow. There was also a song that we're playing on the show tonight called Here's the Situation that he said would be on his next record, but if you had subscribed to the pledge music project you would have gotten as a bonus track. He ended the show with a song we played on the Homegrown Sunday Ramble a few months ago that was a preview track to the new record and is unavailable anywhere called "You Know It's Dark When the Atheists Start to Pray" as he and his horn section marched through the crowd and out the back doors of the Bowery Ballroom to roaring applause. This is why you want to see live music. I wish I was 20 years younger or in better shape so I wouldn't feel so spent today. But if you are a young person(or any person for that matter) and you want to see what a great rock show is all about. Don't miss this tour and especially don't miss it while Steve Wynn is supporting. You will be Addicted to live music forever after this.

    Jesse Malin

by tm65 on 10/29/13The Wonder Bar - Asbury Park

One of the best live performances I have seen in a long time. Been hoping to catch his act but not sure of what to expect. Jesse and his band did not disappoint. Very tight band. High energy front man, great sound at the Wonder Bar. He was spot on every song. Loved the horn section and Ramones cover. Jesse did a nice job of mixing in his newer stuff with older. Although I liked his newer stuff already the show made me a much bigger fan. Some bands sound great in the studio but do little for me at live shows. This was not the case. Great job!
