About

JERRY LEE LEWIS IN CONCERT:

Legendary rock and roller-turned-country crooner Jerry Lee Lewis is living proof that septuagenarians can still rock. The Killer, as Lewis is affectionately known by fans, still possesses the same spitfire energy that propelled hits like "Great Balls of Fire" and "Whole Lotta Shakin' Going On" to No. 1 in the '50s, working the piano like a man half his age at his throwback live shows. Taking the stage with his sister and niece at his 2014 shows, Lewis cranked out marathon sets of his beloved rock hits, thrilling fans both young and old with his timeless, tireless showmanship.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born in Louisiana, Lewis's parents mortgaged the family farm to buy him his first piano. After being kicked out of bible school for surprising a church assembly with a boogie woogie version of "My God Is Real," Lewis begin playing in clubs around Mississippi and Tennessee, hoping to land a record deal in Nashville. His break came when Sun Records realized his talent, recording his early songs and eventually releasing his breakthrough hits "Great Balls of Fire" and "Whole Lotta Shakin' Going On" in 1957. After family troubles steered him away from music in the late '50s, he returned to the game in the late '60s with a countrified sound, climbing the charts once again with hits like the 1968 No. 1 "To Make Love Sweeter For You." With a career that spans more than half a century, Lewis is nothing if not a seasoned performer, continuing to entertain audiences with his piano theatrics well into his seventies.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Jerry Lee Lewis put on an absolutely inspired performance of full throttle rock and roll mixed with the usual blend of country ballads and Mississippi Blues. Fantastic performance..."

"Jerry Lee has always been the master showman and even though he didn't stand up on the piano or set it on fire, does not mean that he put any less energy into his show."

"Jerry lee didn't miss a beat on the piano! So glad I got to see him."

Jerry Lee Lewis is still the killer!!!

by BunnyWatson on 10/2/17B.B. King Blues Club & Grill - New York

Seeing Jerry Lee Lewis was a dream comes true. His fingers still fly across the keyboard and he kicked over the piano bench to cheers.

BB King's Sound and Lighting are Horrendous

by MetalMilitia86 on 10/2/17B.B. King Blues Club & Grill - New York

The guy at the board must have been falling asleep because he didn't care to raise the volume on anyone who was singing until the end of a song. No one seemed to care when a fuse was blown on stage. Loads of feedback. Lighting system was on random and thought I was at a Middle School disco dance from 1993.

    THE KILLER STILL GOT IT

by TonyD14 on 10/2/17B.B. King Blues Club & Grill - New York

There ain't much left in his tank, but what gas is left is PURE JERRY LEE! He was THE KILLER HIMSELF! Played them all and kicked the piano chair to end the concert! Great venue at BB King's! Ask for Monty. He'll serve you like a King. And Jerry Lee Lewis surely DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Great Balls of Fire!

Jerry Lee is still a piano player extraordinaire!

by KadyG on 8/3/17B.B. King Blues Club & Grill - New York

Loved it. Killer still plays that boogie woogie piano as good as ever. I was happy to see him in person at last. Venue was a reminder of night clubs of old. $10 minimum per person unbelievable for NYC.

    Jerry Lee still rocks

by Anonymous on 2/8/17Sam's Town Casino - Robinsonville

It was awesome to get to witness a great pioneer of rock and roll beat out some of his most memorable hit tunes on the keys. It was also wonderful to get to watch my uncle, Buck Hutcheson perform with the Memphis Beats.

    This man is amazing

by Number1FanFromAlabama on 2/7/17Sam's Town Casino - Robinsonville

Jerry Lee is up in the years, and not very healthy. However he put on a very good show. I love this guy. He wore a red suit, and played very well. The audience were on their feet showing lots of love and respect to this rock and roll legend. There is not another like him.

    Living Legend

by goingcoastal on 2/7/17Sam's Town Casino - Robinsonville

He interacted with the audience, played and sang well. He doesn't have the same energy as he did 50 years ago but who does? It was an hour show which was short but he's 81 and we are thrilled we got a chance to see him so 5 stars! If he comes back next year we'll be there.

    Killer killed it in Tunica

by LuckyLouie on 2/7/17Sam's Town Casino - Robinsonville

Great show once again by the Killer. The Memphis Beats opened the show with some great hits before the curtains closed for a few minutes. When they reopened, Jerry Lee was sitting at the piano. Someone close by said he was brought out in a wheelchair and didn't want the audience to see how frail he was. He played for about 30 minutes and had very little interaction with the audience. He asked for a coke and spoke to the audience a minute or so waiting for it to be brought to him. His voice is still strong and he did a great job. I just wish he had sung more songs. I was glad to get to hear him live one more time!

totally amazed at his age that he can still "wow" the whole arena. He gave it his all and everyone was almost spell-bound. It was not a long event, but nobody cared, it was just fantastic to see him live and here his great old songs.

by Anonymous on 1/12/17Golden Nugget - Lake Charles - Lake Charles

Overall, this was an amazing show. Jerry Lee is a music legend. He can still play the piano as well as ever. He was very personal with the audience and talked to them between most of the songs. I loved the show.

    Not worth the money!!

by jerjobjo1999 on 1/9/17Golden Nugget - Lake Charles - Lake Charles

The fact is he is not in good enough health to do concerts. He had to hold on to piano so that he wouldn't fall off piano chair. He made comments that made no sense. He had to be walked on and off the stage. He seemed disoriented. It was really just sad. I think it's a shame to pay good money for this performance or lack of. Seems like people are keeping him on stage to keep their own jobs. He needs to retire. I truly felt sorry for him.

Jerry Lee Put On Great Show!

by TrittFan24 on 2/26/16Sam's Town Casino - Robinsonville

Jerry Lee and band entertained the packed house. Jerry Lee's sister and niece came out before he did and put on quite a show as well. Had tickets to see him in Memphis at Cannon Center November 2014, but concert canceled due to health problems. Was happy to see him this this time.
