As always a wonderful time, courteous staff, good concessions and a great show.
The JG Symphony with Warren Haynes was a highlight of my summer and concerts I've attended. It was truly a wonderful show and I loved seeing Warren perform with an entire orchestra. The conductor even came out and played the saxophone along with Warren's great guitar playing. Played some classic Dead tunes especially the closer, Terrapin Station!
Did not know what I was in for. Stayed away from watching any prior shows on the internet. Hard to describe how amazing the show was. You could not select a better artist to cover Jerry and company. Add a full Orchestra and the seen is complete. The venue was one of the cleanest I've been to. That makes the event all the more enjoyable. I'm very happy I saw the show. Not many left so go now!
The show was terrific. The musicanship and arrangements were all of the highest caliber. The symphony orchestra, the bass, the drums, and especially the guitar, were all well played. Having seen Jerry Garcia perform several times over the years, it is quite clear that Warren Haynes did Jerry's music and his guitar playing a great and deserved honor. In fact, I would even go so far to say that several of the songs sounded better that the Grateful Dead, and even better than Jerry had played them. This performance was that good. Having seen video of some of the Dead shows last summer, it is clear to me that they did not compare at all with this show. This show was simply superlative, much better than those. Hopefully, this show and/or the other nine like it will see commercial release so that they can be widely appreciated by those that appreciated Jerry's music and playing.
This was an incredible show! First of a kind that I have ever gone to and I can not wait for another like this to come around!
Beautiful Day !! Sound was great! Warren is a great musician !!!!
The Concert was very nice. The only bad thing was how rude the security was. Swearing at people and yelling is unnecessary.
This was my first time both at the PNC bank arts center and seeing the Symphonic celebration. It was phenomenal. My friend and I enjoyed every minute of the brilliant music. Warren paid homage to Jerry with every note and the orchestra was just gorgeous. Highly recommend.
It was a special night indeed. Beautiful weather. Beautiful tunes. Gotta love an evening full of Jerry / Hunter songs and a full orchestra. Warren did a great job. He should have lost the jacket in the first set. He looked much more comfortable in the second set. He got emotional a couple of times but most noticeably near the end. It really was a lot of fun!
The only thing worse than the show was the venue. The art center was 3/4 closed with most entry ways unopened, closed bathrooms and concessions. The roadways on the way out were mostly closed. The show itself stopped and started and stopped. Little continuity and poor song selection. Haynes however was brilliant with Jerry's guitar.
This show was amazing. Warren playing WOLF. Full symphony orchestra, all Jerry tunes, what could be better? Come back next year. PLEASE
This show was awesome the song selection was perfect the symphony was amazing ...great show!!!
Fun to see the dead heads come out of the closet, good music, nice weather good company
The performance was incredible, Warren was in fine form as was the whole core band, the lovely ladies Alicia and Jasmine. The only complaint I have is the audience. They were loud and rude, talking through the whole show. I expected a bit more reverence for the event, which marked the anniversary of Jerry's passing, as well as more respect for the artists. What are you there for if not to hear the beautiful music being played for you? Maybe venues need to consider a no- talking zone. I'd suggest front and center!
Show was awesome!!!!!! I would go see them again. Hope they play at the NJ PAC.
Warren Haynes & the orchestra put on a great show. Crowd was small, people don't know what they missed! Not to often you get a chance to here anything like this was. Special!
Warren and the symphony stepped up to the plate a did a moving tribute to Garcia. Warren's voice was beautiful. You can tell that he was playing from the heart. I never saw him smile so much! It was particularly meaningful as it was the anniversary of Jerry's passing. It was a different way to hear the songs I love and I couldn't have picked a more appropriate way to remember Jerry than to attend this event. I hope that they do it again next year!
Warren is amazing truly a great guitarist and singer always a professional still loves what he does
Song selection was a little slow, Not enough tunes to get you up dancing.
Could not have asked for a better show! It was Jerry's Anniversary!
