Ponty and his band were in excellent form and since the focus on this tour was on the albums he recorded for Atlantic, most of his most popular compositions were performed. The venue in Westbury had very good sound and was quite comfortable. There was convenient street parking.
Unbelievable show. At 3 decades old he puts much younger players to shame. His energy is infectious. Amazing how he can play at that speed and with total clarity all these years later. Wonderful group of players. I know he'll have to retire at some point but hopefully no time soon.

We have been listening to JL Ponty for more than 30 years and it was great to experience the Master live. The Birchmere is a great venue and our server named Katherine was terrific as she seamlessly accommodated our dietary requests.

Jean Luc Ponty and his band performed superbly! The Birchmere offers the perfect setting for this type of performance. We had good seats with a perfect view of the performers. The catfish dinner, served with rice and beans, was really good.
Had not seen J-L for decades but he and his tight band of past collaborators played all of his "hits." One encore. No Egocentric Molecules was my only disappointment.
I brought my family last year to see Mr Pont and he did not disappoint. At 75 he played like he was 25, with a myriad of songs, starting with my favorite from Enigmatic Ocean. My children were impressed and we look forward to him coming back this winter, or next summer. Excellent!!!

If you know much about jazz, you would expect some mesmerizing music from his band. In brief, JLP did not disappoint. At 75 years old, he played his heart out! He was probably trying to raise the bar even higher since he invited several protégés to the stage briefly. Probably the best concert this summer!

The sound was screwed up through half the show, Jean kept fidgeting with his instruments and small on stage board, the songs were from the 70s and there were too many dead spaces between songs. Do a sound check! Play the music that was your most popular!
Awesome performance, truly enjoyed it from the beginning to the end. He may be up in age but he's still the man on that violin.

I recently attended the Jean Luc Ponty concert at Chene Park. And I must say it was outstanding! “The Pont” came and “showed out”. His performance was exceptional, as he took us “back” with a few memorable and popular tunes! He did not disappoint!
Jean Luc was just as good Wednesday as he was the first time I saw him in Chicago back in the 70’s. Took my new girlfriend wasn’t sure if she would like him or not. She was amazed at his talent. Never saw a violinist play like that she said.
