"NEW JACK CITY LIVE, transports audiences to metropolis-Harlem, NY where they bear witness to the journey of the infamous Nino Brown, a drug lord who, when caught in the crossfires of the dangerous drug game, must decide what's most important: friendship, money, or total domination. Balancing betrayal between friends, lovers, and ultimately generational hardships, this riveting rendition of the time-honored movie will have everyone leaving the theatre wondering "Am I my brother's keeper?"
Set to the soundtrack of some of the most quintessential songs from the film, NEW JACK CITY LIVE will give audiences across the nation an opportunity to relive all their favorite, intense, heart-pounding moments from the blockbuster movie as they experience classic theater storytelling as shared through the culturally astute lens of four-time national championship playwright and NAACP Trailblazer Award recipient, Je'Caryous Johnson."

I’m so glad I went to see the play, it was good. I was glad to see Flex, Allen Payne and Big Daddy Kane (looking like a whole snack), they all look good. Their performances was amazing. It was funny because at some point they actually engaged with the audience. I highly recommend if it’s coming to your city, go see it.
It was excellent! It was like i was watching the movie all over again, very nostalgic
A must see and money well spent! The cast did a great job. Treach did a great job playing Nino and Flex played the hell out of Pookie!
Flex was hilarious! Big Daddy Kane is as fine as ever!! Treach, A. Payne, and the rest of the actors did a phenomenal job as well.
The show opened at 7pm i purchased 3 tickets and came from nj to see this play. We rode around for 2 straight hours with a lot of others that were trying to find parking in which there was no parking at all to accomodate any of us for this play. To find out i could not get my money back.which this was not my fault . Ticketmaster emailed me to tell me i could have given my tickets away. At 9pm we were still.riding around this city to find parking. Why would i give the tickets away when trying to find parking to see the play. Never again will.Met Philadelphia get my money unless they do better than this. I would never tell anyone to go unless they catch a bus then good luck getting to the theater.
I think all the characters did great. One thing i was hoping to see was someone similar to keshia character, although she did great i just was hoping for all the characters to be similar to the actual characters.
The workers where very friendly and organized helpful good atmosphere i would to see more plays by the producer
Its good to see a cultural play, and to have original actor, from the movie, all the actors were great. I must say, ready to see what Je'Caryous Johnson produces next, very talented person.
The Mer balcony is too tight. U can actually tell when u hav latecomers who never been to a play. Please get some culture in ur system. The people who were there u made terrible distractions 4 other people. Thanks 4 the cast performance. Outstanding!!!!
The play was very low budget for the cost. The production and set was poorly done. Left the play during intermission. Expected a lot better than what was delivered.
This play was awesome. Go see it, you will definitely enjoy it.
This play was amazing. I would definitely see it again.
We as African American people need to do better when it come to going out and supporting. Know how to conduct ourselves when attending a theater show. Attending “The Met” should be the same experience as going to broadway to see The Piano Lesson or any of those plays. Broadway don’t do a purse lock up only inspection. Did not like appreciate that women had to check their purse if it was not a crossbody; wristlet, or clear and charged $10 and when I went to retrieve my purse the attendant was handing someone else’s purse. Not cool. 😐🤦🏽♀️GF
A walk down memory lane. Good times. Good memories. Outstanding acting.
They did a great job acting out the scenes, changing the background…crazy the guns felt ‘real’. I would definitely go see this again.
The Remake of the play was nice. It was actually my first tine at the MET since I was a kid. The seats and leg room are not for an average size adult! Half my row complained about their knees and legs hurting because the space was so tight. Second to have to walk up 2 full flights steps to get to our seats was terrible! Honestly I don’t think I’ll be visiting the Met again.
The star studded cast delivered a stellar performance. If you saw the movie, you're bound to have a nostalgic moment. The experience also delivered some well delivered surprises. A definite must see.
I really enjoyed the play. I must say Je'Caryous kept the storyline tight and I could not have done a better job with the casting. From Allen Payne playing Gee Money to Trech paying Nino Brown and even Torrie Hart. Everyone was on point!!!
The show itself was good. But the venue and audience not so much. Lots of talking and phones with videos out...parking for The Met needs to be upgraded.
