JD McPherson In Concert
A JD McPherson concert is a rolling, tumbling, stomping, rumbling rock 'n' roll revival. When McPherson and his band hit the stage, his old-school R&B and first-gen rock 'n' roll influences really come to the fore, helping to make every show a party.
With his fire-breathing band helping him amp up the excitement, McPherson generates the kind of sound that makes it impossible for fans to sit still. So don't be surprised if people are jumping around and bopping up and down, even if it's a sit-down venue.
Whether McPherson and the boys are banging out his albums' most popular tunes — like "North Side Gal," "Let the Good Times Roll," and "Why Lady Why" — or serving up the occasional cover of classic tunes from some of his heroes, such as Nick Lowe's "Rome Wasn't Built in a Day," Billy Boy Arnold's "I Wish You Would," or Chuck Berry's "Run Rudolph Run," it's impossible to resist their good-time vibes.
JD McPherson Background
JD McPherson started stirring up buzz in 2012 with his debut album, Signs and Signifiers, on Rounder Records, though the record first appeared on a smaller label two years earlier. Once a wider audience caught on to McPherson's raw, roots-conscious mix of 1950s/early '60s R&B, rock 'n' roll, and blues influences, McPherson's debut made its way to the top of Billboard's Heatseekers chart.
Since McPherson grew up in a rural part of Oklahoma, free from the distractions of city life, he spent his youth focusing on the old-school sounds he loved and learned how to channel them into something all his own. His second record, 2015's Let the Good Times Roll, pierced the Top 20 on the Rock Albums chart, earning him even more attention. For his third LP, 2017's Undivided Heart & Soul, McPherson modernized his approach a bit while still staying in touch with his musical roots.

Music was Sound great. Sound was perfect for the venue. I have hip problems and am unable to stand for very long but found the only chairs available (2). I believe there should be some seating for people like me. Otherwise it was great.
JD McPherson ROCKS! His band is great, too. You just can't sit still to his music.
Love J D McPherson. Knew what to expect, and it definitely met and exceeded my expectations. What a great fun night, band and set list! Love Antone's, got me in the Christmas spirit. I went the next night too. Thank you. Catch it while you can.
I've seen JD four times now. Each time he puts on an incredible show.
A fun night at Antone's with JD McPherson. Very tight band, and they focused on Christmas. Good times.
JD and company are a true talent and the very definition of rock and roll. From emotion gripping songwriting to get up and dance tunes, JD puts on a show that is not to be missed.
Fantastic performances in an excellent all ages venue.
Despite the fact the crowd was a bit sparse and a little lame JD and his band didn’t seem to hold back. This was a fun show full of great songs. These guys rock. I’d go back in a heartbeat. Get a ticket, you won’t regret it.
Intimate venue and hugely talented band with their funky bluesy style made for the best concert experience ever, bar none! Thoroughly enjoyed it!
