I liked that there were several underground artists that were featured. However, I did not like the structure of the program. Too much time was given to the so so acts and not enough time for the main acts. Raphael Sadique was cheated out of his time. How could they give the shortest amount of time to someone of his calibur. They should definitely restructure the program so that the best acts are given the time they deserve. VIP was a JOKE!!! Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, give me a break!! The seating was too far from the stage. UCLA does not understand the concept of VIP.

    The abrupt unappologized for ending...?

by Intange on 5/31/10UCLA Intramural Field - Los Angeles

Although all the artist were good Raphael Sadiiq was the one we were all waiting for, and after all the wait he gets up and performs for a shorted period of time and in his frustration of being rushed he just walks off the stage. But what bothered me most is that no one thought to get up and apologize to everyone that paid for this specific performance nor let us know the event was over... Truly thought that was the very worst note to leave us on besides all the restrictions and constraints jammed on us walking in.

    Jazz/Reggae

by RicanDiva on 5/31/10UCLA Intramural Field - Los Angeles

Overall I think the festival was nice. I do think if chairs were allowed it would have been a more enjoyable day. It's very hard to enjoy the show and have your back/bottom hurting. I kept have to get up walk around...too much. The people and the atmosphere were boh very nice.

Bobby Rodriguez Ph.D. UCLA Latin Jazz, fantastic

by Nickey777 on 5/31/10UCLA Intramural Field - Los Angeles

This was a great event made even better by the UCLA Latin Jazz Band directed by the charismatic, talented and creative Dr. Bobby Rodriguez. The students are the best musicians as they were the best in their high schools and made even better by their teachers (and lots of dedicated practice time) at UCLA. My only complaint is that they should have let the Latin Jazz Band play a little longer.

    Headliners performance was ONLY 30minutes!

by Anonymous on 5/31/10UCLA Intramural Field - Los Angeles

Apart from Raphael Sadiq only performing for about 30 minutes the event was well coordinated this year. Q-tip killed it on stage! -Was possibly one reason Raphael had limited minutes. All in all UCLA's festival is a good time. I've been attending since the day's it was held on streets of Westwood and have watched it grow tremendously over the years. Wish I could make it out today for Raggae with Nas and Damien Marley but committed to a bbq. -Might sneak away and head back to ucla?

JazzReggae is my favorite event all year!!!

by Veerdee on 4/1/10UCLA Intramural Field - Los Angeles

Every single year I look forward to JazzReggae. It's an event my parents took me to as a kid and it's an event I still go to as an adult. I've gone for 18 years and it doesn't even matter who the line up is because its the best environment and most fun ever. It brings together the community and promotes cultures that would have never gotten love before! I LOVE THIS FESTIVAL
