    Great Jazz Experience !

by Lisa A. on 2/5/23Uihlein Hall Marcus Center - Milwaukee

It was wonderful to take my Dad out for a night of great jazz, which started with drinks and dinner at St. Kate, which is a tradition for us, and ended with the performance by Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Orchestra. Although the weather was terribly cold, it was well worth the effort to enjoy such an evening of outstanding music in the midst of a Wisconsin winter. We will be back for the Afro Cuban Allstars and Kandace Springs !

    Amazing

by Alan on 8/10/21Tilles Center Concert Hall - Brookville

The venue was great. Excellent sound and sitting outdoors was nice. The orchestra was so good and Brandon Marsalis was beyond amazing but the entire orchestra was exceptional.

    Decent Show

by Justin on 12/13/19Uihlein Hall Marcus Center - Milwaukee

The band sounded very good but I wish they played more popular holiday hits, played longer and that Wynton was a more prominent person in the band itself. Also, prices were way too high for this; cheaper tickets would have likely been able to have more people there.

    Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra BLISS

by Bluhiways on 12/7/16Stiefel Theatre - Salina

It was an amazing night of music. I was gobsmacked by the talent I had the privilege to experience. So grateful. Still relishing days later. Catherine Russell was the icing on the cake.

Wynton Marsalis and this group are amazing

    by Curley97 on 12/7/16Stiefel Theatre - Salina

Great music. What talent truly sounds like! They were very nice to meet... so kind to my daughter and the others who got to go back stage and meet them. The theatre is beautiful and very comfortable. I will be returning many times.

    Fantastic Show!

    by Pursegal2 on 12/6/16Stiefel Theatre - Salina

What a privilege to be in the audience for one of 10 shows they are performing. The entire band was amazing and were quite a group of incredibly talented musicians. I loved how they arranged the Christmas songs. Wynton was funny and very engaging. He was also unassuming in the back row with the rest of his section. I wish he would have stood up when he took a solo. I enjoy listening to the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra on Sirius and this was a real treat to hear them perform live. Catherine Russell was the guest vocalist and all I can say is "wow"!

    Jazz at Lincoln Center

by Ralph35064 on 12/6/14Uihlein Hall Marcus Center - Milwaukee

What an amazing performance by a group of obviously very talented musicians. Wynton's informal and most interesting introductions to the music to be played was most special, and lets not forget, what a trumpet player. What made it even more special were the individual performances, and the singing of Cecile. Great night, and only wish it could have lasted longer.

    Marvelous Holiday Program!!

by mentalcase on 12/4/14Uihlein Hall Marcus Center - Milwaukee

Wynton Marsalis gave a thumbnail summary of each selection played (history etc) that was a wonderful addition to the presentation. Program was a combination of Christmas standards and spirituals, but the arrangements were amazing, as were the musicians and the guest vocalist.

    What a Wonderful Evening!

by Vicki123 on 12/4/14Uihlein Hall Marcus Center - Milwaukee

Although I was not familiar with any of the musicians, the night was amazing. Mr. Marsalis was a very entertaining MC. I enjoyed the laid back atmosphere and the talented musicians. Cecil was such a strong singer and an absolute please to listen to. This show was recommended to me by a PAC member and I will have to thank him for the advise. Definitely worth it.

Wynton and band members are great!

by STSD on 3/19/14Balboa Theatre - San Diego

I thoroughly enjoyed the performance. Wynton and his group are so entertaining. I loved Wynton giving a little background on each selection that was played and adding his sense of humor.

Wynton and the "band" in San Diego

by NorthParkRich on 3/19/14Balboa Theatre - San Diego

It doesn't get any better than this. A glorious night with the Lincoln Center Jazz Ensemble that propelled some of the jazz from the last century into the same status as the classics of Bach, Beethoven and Mozart. The future has arrived.

    World-class

by brubeckfansince1955 on 3/28/13Bob Hope Theatre - Stockton

The Brubeck Institute outdid themselves this year with an amazing Festival. And the highlight was the Friday concert at the Fox. Not only was the music first class, but the audience was also amazing -- so enthusiastic and responsive.

Jazz at the Lincoln Center Orchdestra

by Knocker7AC on 3/25/13Bob Hope Theatre - Stockton

The setting was fantastic being held in the Bob Hope Theatre...elegant and classy. The theatre was comfortable even with my seats being some of the last purchased and high in the balcony. The sound system worked very well giving a nice balanced sound to the performing jazz musicians and the band. Enjoyed the musical chart selections by the Jazz Orchestra and the fitting tribute by Wynton Marsalis to Brubeck.

Winton Marsalis and the band-incredible musicians

by Porsche2025 on 3/24/13Bob Hope Theatre - Stockton

Truly a cultural experience...music played from Thelonius Monk, Duke Ellington to Dave Brubeck. Will attend the Brubeck Music Festival next year. The most fun that I have had at a concert in a long time. Wish I had taken my children.

    Winton Marsalis' concert was wonderful!

by 13paul on 3/24/13Bob Hope Theatre - Stockton

Great concert! Only slightly marred by break-in of my car a few blocks from the theater.... I would highly recommend all future events of the Brubeck Institute, and wish I could have attended more events of this Festival!!!
