    Jazz Family Back Together Again.

by UrbanSophisticate on 12/15/21Atlanta Symphony Hall - Atlanta

After a reschedule due to the pandemic, this turned into a Holiday Big Band extravaganza. I loved the health protocols and the view was amazing. The elevation of locally grown talent was an added bonus

    Wynton finally arrives!

    by T. R. on 12/15/21Atlanta Symphony Hall - Atlanta

The rescheduled concert by Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra was terrific. I have watched a number of his performances on YouTube and his orchestra was even more impressive in person. I certainly will plan to see him when he comes again to ATL.

    Jazz for All Seasons

by Meg&Kerry on 12/15/21Atlanta Symphony Hall - Atlanta

The Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra was fantastic. It was informative with Wynton Marsalis providing insight to the origin of the music, the arrangements by members of the group and the outstanding music played by each member of the orchestra as well as the beautiful vocals by Alita Moses. Please bring them back. Thank you.

    Misleading

    by r. K. on 12/15/21Atlanta Symphony Hall - Atlanta

I purchased the tickets two years ago for my friend’s November birthday. The show was not advertised then or since then as a Christmas concert. I was expecting big band standards not Christmas music for every piece. As a Jew, I was very disappointed as were others in the audience. I had attended a previous performance of JALCO and was really looking forward to this one, only to be very let down.

This concert was fabulous! Perhaps the best compilation of jazz musicians I've heard. We're so glad we went!

World Class Musicians Jamming Holiday Tunes

by Bigdaddyatlatty on 12/15/21Atlanta Symphony Hall - Atlanta

This was top level seasoned musicians performing songs arranged by and for themselves. It was an evening full of Christmas songs with a jazzy twist. Curated and narrated by the incomparable Wynton Marsalis.

We brought our 9 year old grandson to the concert and he was mesmerized by it all

    Smooth

by GloJ on 2/13/19Tilles Center Concert Hall - Brookville

Great performance. There was a nice variety of composers and jazz styles. Wynton Marsalis makes unknown pieces more enjoyable by sharing info and anecdotes about the compositions and composer. This was a very enjoyable evening. If Tilles would do a better job of handling departing traffic, this great venue would be excellent.

    The show was very enjoyable.

by Sandy on 2/12/19Tilles Center Concert Hall - Brookville

I loved the young lady who finished the show. She was worth the wait, her musical skills were off the chart. I am glad they had such an awesome femal musician as part of the assemble.

    An absolutely amazing concert!!

by J. on 2/12/19Tilles Center Concert Hall - Brookville

As the saying goes, "It blew us away!" Honoring the jazz greats, masterful arrangements, performance by the top musicians and the great intros by Mr. Marsalis made the event one of the best we've ever experienced.

    keep jazz alive

by larrydickman on 10/16/18Sursa Performance Hall - Muncie

It was hard for us to see (as we were in Row 1) Wynton Marsalis as he sat in the back row and obviously was just "member of the band", but aside from that, the music is outstanding. We really appreciated being able to attend this show in Muncie in this outstanding small performance space. Thanks Ball State and LCJO!

Wynton has a hot hot show!

by Elizabethalicelouise on 10/13/18Centennial Hall - Tucson

If you like beautiful jazz and smooth dancing, RUN don't walk to this show. I'm still chuckling about Lil Buck and Jared Grimes doing the Chicken Dance! And it's a feel good show, appropriate for all ages. THANK YOU ALL for a lovely experience.

    Not What I Expected

by REGOLRLD on 10/8/18Centennial Hall - Tucson

Perhaps I didn't read the event description closely. If I didn't, my bad. Mr. Marsalis announced that we had special guests, Jared Grimes and L'il Buck. Several in the audience expressed delight. I didn't know who they were. I'd come to hear world class jazz musicians play. Two hours later, I'd heard one piece featuring the 15 or so world class musicians play jazz. And can they play. I loved it. Every other piece featured Jared and L'il Buck prancing around the stage. They are two very gifted and accomplished dancers but I came to hear jazz music not attend a dance recital.

    Too Artistic

    by Bakanick40 on 10/8/18Centennial Hall - Tucson

Not Wynton’s best. His last piece was his best when the animal show was over and he returned to his traditional music.

    Great Show!

by Juliebones on 12/11/17Atlanta Symphony Hall - Atlanta

Winton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra put on a great show of Christmas music. My only complaint is they don't come to Atlanta to do shows very often. The last one was two years ago.

    Big band at its finest!!

by JohnnyKaye on 12/11/17Atlanta Symphony Hall - Atlanta

There is NOTHING better than the best. The Wynton Marsalis Jazz All-Star band is a treasure...go see if you have a chance. This type of music is a rarity these days. Thank you Atlanta Symphony for bringing in this world renowned ensemble. Too bad the weather was so bad that half the house was empty.
