    PURE EXCELLENCE

by Jeannie on 10/10/22UB Center for the Arts - Mainstage Theatre - Buffalo

The supurb musicianship was "jawdroppingly" good!!! I could have stayed for hours listening to this amazing group of artists. Wynton Marsalis emcees with humor and an abundance of jazz knowledge. It was truly an honor to be in the same air space with him and his orchestra.

Great show, but ticket-takers have a thing to learn

by BBB on 10/10/22UB Center for the Arts - Mainstage Theatre - Buffalo

UBCA is a wonderful venue. The music was great, as we expected. That said..this is the second time weā€™ve been questioned when we present our actual tickets to enter. ā€œWhatā€™s this??ā€ ā€œThereā€™s no bar codeā€. ā€œDoes it say Wynton Marsalis?ā€ Good grief. Weā€™re made to feel like weā€™re trying to get in without a ticket, just because we choose not to own an expensive phone. Alsoā€¦no play bill, unless you have a smart phone to scan it. Paper tickets donā€™t transmit covid, and there is no reason not to issue them upon request, which Ticketmaster does. The venue needs to be aware.

It was a wonderful evening of jazz played masterfully and with passion. The music spoke through the talented music. I wish it would have lasted longer.

    Awesome

by Lefty on 4/10/22Tilles Center Concert Hall - Brookville

I took my 10 year old . Heā€™ in the 5th grade and is in a Band. He plays the trumpet. When Winton Marsalis told the story about him being in a band when he was in Elementary School, my grandson thatā€™s me. I was so glad he loved the music and he was bobbing his head and plucking his finger. Yeah!!!

    Jazz w the kids

by PT on 4/10/22Tilles Center Concert Hall - Brookville

Took my middle and high school boys to see Lincoln Center Jazz Band at Tilles Center. Beautiful pieces, very enjoyable - Audience definitely is older , my kids may have enjoyed it more if they were more into jazz music but they appreciated the talent and the pieces.

    Wow!

by Dave on 2/16/22Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - Boise

Great performance, good venue, tremendous energy and musicality. The skill of each performer was phenomenal, of course, but it was all displayed in service of the music rather than impressing the audience with virtuosity.

    Great Music

by LPF on 2/16/22Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - Boise

This event far exceeded my expectations! The music and the musicians were amazing. I bought this as a Valentine's Day gift for my husband, and then realized it was on Super Bowl night. This topped anything we would have watched on TV and reminded me how much I enjoy Jazz! Thank you for the toe tapping and sheer joy of listening to such talented individuals!

    What a Treat!

by Jazztater on 2/16/22Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - Boise

Seeing Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra perform live was definitely a Bucket List item for me. The orchestra members were all consummate musicians. I appreciated the efforts Mr. Marsalis made to have each of the orchestra members perform solos at least once during the concert. There were a lot of high school students in attendance. After the concert was over, I overheard a lot of the students excitedly talking about the concert and being so impressed with the musical talents and abilities of the orchestra members.

A night to remember with my grandson

by GJ on 2/16/22Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - Boise

My grandson, who is 13, plays saxophone in Jazz Band at his school so I gifted him tickets for Christmas. We both play piano. This was his first time hearing a professional jazz band and I was so delighted to have experienced the incredible sounds of this group as a whole and individually with my grandson. It was an inspiring, joyful, and thrilling night to remember.

    incredible show!

by Elizabeth on 2/16/22Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - Boise

If you have the opportunity to see JLCO, don't sleep on it! This is hands down the tightest group of musicians I've ever had the pleasure of witnessing. Wynton Marsalis is a living legend!!!

    A tight group overall

by 1 on 2/16/22Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - Boise

Excellent musicianship. A good variety of selections, although I would have preferred a few less of Monk, and few of Armstrong. I like that they played one set of 1 1/2 hours, instead of having an intermission. Marsalis did matter of factly present each piece before, and acknowledge solos after, but that was it. He needs more personality, and more than one solo. His presentation was dry and cold.

The Live Jazz Experience You Can't Miss!

by E&J on 1/31/22Balboa Theatre - San Diego

Seeing Wynton Marsalis and Jazz at the Lincoln Center Orchestra live, truly fed our music soul. The richness of their music, playing originals along with tributes to jazz greats was phenomenal. We are so grateful for this rare opportunity to see them live in concert.

The show and our tickets were great.

by Skipage on 1/25/22Balboa Theatre - San Diego

But I ordered parking for the event and assumed it would be in ACE parking in the same block on 4th Ave, but the ticket was for the ACE parking lot on 10th. It was dark, downtown and not close. We chose to pay extra for the ACE on 4th. I wish I had been told that info when I purchased.

    Classy event

by Jimmy on 1/25/22Balboa Theatre - San Diego

Wynton Marsalis is the premier in trumpet and orchestra arrangement. He is funny and intelligent. The band was top notch never missing a beat. This kind of music is complex. Only real musicians can master what i heard tonight. GREAT SHOW.

Couldn't have dreamed of a better concert. The musicianship was superlative. Very accessible jazz but still deep. Great acoustics.
