Jay Park on Tour

As the first Asian-American artist to sign with Jay-Z's Roc Nation, Jay Park seems to be everywhere: Guesting on all kinds of tracks, writing songs for artists, dropping albums at a breakneck pace, running two labels and starring on multiple TV shows. He's a genuine phenomenon in South Korea, where his b-boy persona and canny mix of K-pop and hip-hop has hit a lucrative sweet spot. As an artist, he refuses to be pigeonholed; his music has all the frothy, hook-heavy perfection of the best K-pop, but his swagger and honesty (and tattoos) make him a bit of a bad boy in that squeaky-clean music universe. A terrific dancer, Park has performed extensively throughout Asia over the years, but he undertook his first world tour as a solo artist in 2019, with the SEXY 4EVA World Tour.

Jay Park in Concert

Jay grew up in Seattle, where he fell in love with hip-hop and R&B as a kid. He cites Usher as one of his major inspirations — no surprise for a kid who was a b-boy and dancer with Seattle's Art of Movement crew. In 2004, his mother, noticing that he was much more focused on music than school, encouraged him to head to Korea to audition for the K-pop powerhouse JYP Entertainment. JYP liked what they saw and trained him for four years. By then, Park had become fairly bilingual in English and Korean, and in 2009 he took over the helm of the boy band 2PM. A year later he was forced to leave the band, but he wasted no time, uploading a cover of B.o.B.'s "Nothin' on You" (with his own lyrics) that went viral on YouTube virtually overnight. Fans in Korea were clamoring for his return, and film roles in Hype Nation and 2011's Mr. Idol led to a new chapter as a solo artist. Park began releasing EPs, and by 2012 he was writing songs for artists including U-Kiss, Tiny-G and Younha. He also released his first full-length album, New Breed, that year. He's appeared on shows including Asia's Got Talent and Saturday Night Live Korea. He was the Korean Hip-Hop Awards Artist of the Year in 2017 and 2018, and he's won a slew of Korean Music Awards as well. He's also the CEO of not one but two labels: AOMG and H1GHR Music. In 2019 he dropped his fifth full-length, The Road Less Traveled.

    An unforgettable night.

by SeeKim on 6/14/12Club Nokia - Los Angeles

I waited for four hours in line and was able to stand towards the front row! Loved that it was in a "club" environment without seats and all. Crowd was pretty energetic. Jay Park was AMAZING. The concert constantly played in my head for a good week. Was definitely unforgettable. I also loved that the crowd was so diverse!!! Didn't really expect it to be. It was an amazing night filled with great performers <3

    JAY PARK!

by JWALKER4LIFE on 6/14/12Club Nokia - Los Angeles

Saw the opening acts (Blush, AJ Rafael). Got to see Blush, Joey (MC), dumfoundead, and AJ Rafael up so close! I was in the front, where the rail was! The bad thing about that was that everyone was pushing to see better & after the concert I was so sore! Anyways when Jay came out the crowd went crazy (including me)!! His performances were like WHOAH & he had so much SWAG! Hot and sexy is all I gotta say. People saw pictures and videos of Jay everywhere! Facebook, Twitter, blogs, etc. Everyone who didn't go regretted not going! I loved how all the JWALKERZ were singing along to all of Jay's songs. Jay was so happy! I saw the other videos and no other concert did it like us! Jay was smiling so big when everyone was singing along. I hope Jay comes again! It was the best concert I ever went to! JWALKER FOR LIFE!

got there late, but it didn't start yet. overall the show was pretty good. was my first time seeing Jay Park live and i admit he was awesome. AJ Rafael was amazing as always. The venue was cool. Didn't know that there was a VIP section, wasn't really mentioned so i thought that kind of sucked. Overall good event!!

Club Nokia messed up on the seating so instead of having the seats we originally purchased, we were assigned to the standing section which wasn't as enjoyable. But, we really liked the performance. Jay Park and everyone else were awesome. We would have preferred to have had the seats we purchased, but made the most of it.

I've been a fan of Jay Park for sometime now but going into the show I wasn't sure if I was going to get the performance I was hoping for. But I was wrong and he delivered even while being under the weather. His singing needs work but his overall performance was impressive. He rapped, danced and joked around with the audience keeping us engaged the whole time. He was having fun and this made the show all the more enjoyable.

    Jay-Walker FOREVER!:)

by Annnnnnn on 6/13/12Club Nokia - Los Angeles

The concert was AWESOME and worth waiting in line for! The whole Club Nokia seemed so chill and had a good vibe to it. I loved the lights in there! Definitely coming back when Im older lol. Jay didn't perform as long as I thought he would, that made me a little bummed. Seemed like Blush and AJ performed longer than he did overall, but it was all good because I'm a fan of AJ and a new fan to Blush!

The concert was incredible! It started off with Vinnie V, who was ok, and then continued with Dumbfoundead, who was awesome, as opening acts. Then Jay performed & he was amazing to watch! He's so hot! <3 It was such a fun night!
