About

Fast-talking, foul mouthed Jay and his "hetero life partner" Silent Bob will tour Australia this April with their highly praised live comedy show, Jay & Silent Bob Get Old.
Following the release of the cult-classic film Clerks in 1994, long time friends Jason "Jay" Mewes and Kevin "Silent Bob" Smith quickly became much loved stoner icons, with their mischievous characters going on to star in Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and Clerks 2, all of which were written and directed by Smith.
The duo have toured Jay & Silent Bob Get Old through the US, recording each evening and then releasing the audio as a free podcast, resulting in the show being ranked the #1 podcast on iTunes Comedy. The shows are a sometimes touching, always hilarious, and a very honest insight into what happens when two people grow up together in the Hollywood limelight.
Now Australian fans will have the opportunity to be a part of the popular podcast series and see their slacker heroes on stage doing what they love, telling stories and poking fun at each other. Jay and Silent Bob are getting old, come watch it as it happens!

    Entertaining

by GnikDrazil on 5/4/11The Midland by AMC - Kansas City

The show was two 1.5 hour podcasts. The first was good with Kevin Smith leading a discussion of the film Mallrats with Scott Mosier. I haven't seen the film for a number of years so I couldn't follow the entire discussion. I was amused overall. The second part was hilarious. Jason Mewes dominated the conversation with stories of rehab, and Kevin providing great one liners. I couldn't stop laughing at Jason mimicking sexual acts.

    You must see them live!

by CraigFromOmaha on 5/4/11The Midland by AMC - Kansas City

It was amazing to see not only Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes live, but Scott Mosier was there to record a podcast, as well. TWO SHOWS FOR THE PRICE OF ONE! Jay and Silent Bob Get Old and SModcast for one low ticket price.

    Kevin, Scott and Jason

by Snoochieboochies on 5/4/11The Midland by AMC - Kansas City

It was fun to see Kevin interacting with Scott Mosier and Jason Mewes. I was left very much missing the q&a that Kevin Smith is known for. The podcast was interesting but I find it much more entertaining when he is interacting with his loyal fans and being the quick witted hilarious guy that he is. All in all, worth seeing and enjoyable but it was a bit drawn out at 3 hours. I'd still take 3 hours of the q&a though!!!!

    Killer show!!

by LiveDudesPodcast on 5/4/11The Midland by AMC - Kansas City

My buddy and I were inspired by Kevin Smith to start our own podcast "Live Dudes", so we both attended this show. We laughed until we were hoarse! Kevin, Scott and Jay are the best!

Jay and Silent Bob are Hilarious!!!

by dancer090208 on 5/4/11The Midland by AMC - Kansas City

Jay and Silent Bob Get Old was hilarious! The Smodcast was amazing with Kevin Smith, and Jason Muse took over a lot of the actual show. There was not a time that I wasn't laughing!!

    Funny!

by AmyMads on 5/4/11The Midland by AMC - Kansas City

I have never seen them perform aside from the movies, and I thought this was hilarious. It was in comparison to being a fly on the wall during one of their daily conversations. Also included a recording of a SMODcast, which was a review of Mall Rats by Kevin Smith when he was under the influence .. I have never laughed so hard!

    Great show - Okay seats

by 232studios on 5/4/11The Midland by AMC - Kansas City

First let me say that both shows were great. It was nice to see Mos, and both shows were up to their standard level of humor and entertainment. What ruined the night however was the seating itself. Just so everyone knows, the seating is not stacked by row, as it might be on your local theater. It is stacked by section. My wife and I had seats in the 20th row, so typically they would have been great seats, but with 4 or 5 other rows in front of us it was a bit of a pain when the two guys you are watching just sit there all show. During some sort of magic show it might not have been a problem but it was annoying enough to kinda ruin the 1/2 half of the night for us. After the first show we asked to be re-seated and the staff was great and found us a place in the balcony. Much better. A final word...Women, I appreciate that you want to go out looking good, but please leave the updo's and the bumpits at the door when you are going somewhere when you know you will have people sitting directly behind you.

    Smith & Mewes are AMAZING!

by Cujo69 on 5/4/11The Midland by AMC - Kansas City

I have seen Kevin's Q&A live but this was 10 times better simply for the fact that Mewes AND Mosier were there. I would pay good money to go again, and that is saying something big b/c we had to drive 4 hours to this show.

Jay and Silent Bob are A Night To Remember!

by johngump on 5/4/11The Midland by AMC - Kansas City

Love their movies and seeing them in person is a night you will never forget. First getting to see Kevin Smith and producer Scott Mosier doing their Smodcast for the internet and then the Jay and Silent Bob Show. It was money well spent. On a side note, Jason Mewes is a true gentlemen to the fans. We met him before the show when he got out of the bus early to come sign for us as we waited by the side entrance and also stuck around at the merchandise table afterwards to sign and take photos. It's not one of those deals where you have to buy something to have it signed either. We bought posters signed by he and Smith, but he'll sign your tickets and patiently take photos. He also writes funny little things when he autographs there. Thanks Smith, Mosier, and Mewes for a great night that my nephew and I will never forget and thanks for caring so much about the fans Mewes. Hope to see you guys again soon!

Jay and Bob Get Old KC nearly had me in tears

by darfnader1 on 5/4/11The Midland by AMC - Kansas City

Both Smodcast and Jay and Bob get old have been perfected over the course of years. So much so that Smith knows exactly how to lead a conversation, what will get the biggest laugh, and he knows the capabilities and responses of his cohorts and audience. Just hilarious.

The first hour of the show was a "Smodcast", which I didn't enjoy. I purchased my ticket to watch Jason Mewes & Kevin Smith - not Scott Mosier & Kevin Smith. Then, there was supposed to be a 10 minute break, which turned into nearly an hour for no apparent reason. The show resumed with Jason Mewes doing a 30 minute monologue about masturbation, during which Kevin Smith could barely get a word in. The show ended with a "game", which consisted of an audience member performing scenes from Notting Hill with Jason Mewes. Very little of interest in the show. If I had it to do over again I would have stayed home and watched Dancing With the Stars.

Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes were GRRRREAT!

by Brose244 on 5/3/11Ulster Performing Arts Center - Kingston

Great show with exactly what was expected: dirty stories and great commentary! Jason Mewes even came out to the lobby and signed autographs and let people take pictures which was very much appreciated! Only sour note: About 30 people stayed after the show, hoping to see Kevin before he got on the bus. Security insisted that Kevin would be coming out to the lobby. They lied. Kevin jumped on the bus as soon as the VERY small (5 max) group of loyal fans left the backstage door. Before you jump, understand that I KNOW that he could have better things to do / needed more secrurity to protect himself /etc. The lying itself is my issue.

Even better live than the podcast

by mwr1962 on 5/2/11Ulster Performing Arts Center - Kingston

Having listened to the various Smodcast Entertainment Network podcasts over the last couple of years they have rapidly become favorites of mine. As an east coaster in the same age range as Kevin and his various friends and fellow podcasters, I identified with a lot of what they talk about and enjoy straight talk, without all the bullshit from a Hollywood personality. Being able to see Kevin, Jay, and Scott while they were riffing added a new and better dimension to just listening to the podcasts. Kevin has a great ability to talk off-the-cuff and respond quickly to outbursts from the crowd without hesitation and with witty retorts. Jay can be visual at times, lying on the stage to simulate a sexual position, and Scott is just Scott, the most level headed of the bunch, but has an excellent rapport with Kevin after years of working together and friendship. I brought along my new girlfriend of 5 weeks who had no knowledge of Podcasts or even who Kevin, Jay, and Scott were, but even she spent the better part of the evening laughing. If you have a decent sense of humor, then you will enjoy this show.

jay an silent bob were hilarious!

by Jneen on 5/2/11Ulster Performing Arts Center - Kingston

Didn't know what to expect from this type of event. With Jay and Silent Bob, how could you go wrong?! They were freakin hilarous!! Kevin Smith out first with Scott, then Kevin came out with Jason Mewes!! Omg! Loved it! Waited after the show, last on line to meet Jason. Got pics and autographs. Thanks Jason!!

    J&SBGO

by thewhim on 5/2/11Ulster Performing Arts Center - Kingston

An excellent show. I was surprised as I am more of a fan of Smodcast than J&SBGO, but Kevin and Jason brought the house down with candid and humorous discussion of everything from whether or not Kingston is actually in New York to Mewe's sexual exploits during his drug use. For me, one of the most funny and ironic moments was when the management of the theater told of the upcoming events such as the Ulster County Symphony Orchestra. Excellent show, worth the money and worth the drive from Albany.

Kevin Smith is a funny guy

by Speechiegirl345 on 5/2/11Ulster Performing Arts Center - Kingston

I thought the first half with Kevin Smith and Scott Moshier was very funny. They have a great rapport. It was like eavesdropping on a hilarious conversation. Smith's musings upon re-watching Mallrats while stoned were fantastic. Then the intermission was a long, unfunny commercial for some video game. For the second half, Moshier was replaced by Jason Mewes (Jay). This half got less laughs. The only reference to the titular characters of this show was the fact that Kevin donned a backward baseball cap. It was mostly Mewes telling stories about getting laid and scoring drugs back when he was an addict. It was boring. It seemed like they were just going out of their way to be dirty because Kevin Smith fans would expect that. The only times they got a genuine (read: Not uncomfortable) laugh was when Smith would chime in. Smith is genuinely funny, Mewes is just raunchy. The improv with the "audience member" fell kind of flat. I would still recommend this to a Smith fan, because there were some entertaining moments.

Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes were hilarious. The role-playing skit at the end was hilarious. Playing the video during the intermission was also a great part of a hilarious night.
