    Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience

by Anonymous on 10/23/10Star Plaza Theatre - Merrillville

If you love Led Zeppelin do not miss this show! They were incredible! I saw Zeppelin when I was sixteen at the Chicago Stadium back in 1977 and I'd have to say Jason's band sounded better than the original. I'm sure part of it was better acoustics at the Star Plaza but make no mistake these guys are phenomenal. I hope they return next year so I can take my two sons.

Jason has really put together a band that would make his dad proud. Truly the legacy of Led Zeppelin lives on through this experience.

    Thank you Jason Bonham (SONZO)

by Sticksvelocity on 10/22/10State Theatre - Minneapolis

Thank you Sonzo- Son of Bonzo - not only for putting this show together, but also for sharing your thoughts, feelings and insights on your dad. Thank you for starting your US tour in MPLS., what a great treat. I was lucky enough to experiance LZ perform in the 70's. I didn't go to you show to try and simulate those experiences, I went to meet and watch you play and maybe pick up of few tips on your dad's drumming technique. Mission accomplished; thanks for the lessons! The added bonus was the fantastic music and sound. The band was great, especially Tony Catania, the lead guitar player; exceptional! If anyone has any connection to Led Zeppelin or to John Henry Bonhom, this show is a must see, if only to share in the life and talent of JHB, the greatest rock and roll drummer of all time. Thank you Sonzo! Good luck and God speed to you, your family and your crew.

    Legendary

    by Jessa14 on 10/22/10State Theatre - Minneapolis

Jason performed a wonderful and comparable tribute to his father and the greatest band. If you've never had the chance to see the real led Zeppelin this experience comes pretty damn close! Phenomenal!

Jason Bonham is a class act

by RedDogGirl on 10/22/10State Theatre - Minneapolis

I will start by admitting that I am not a Led Zeppelin fan (heresy I know) - however, I really enjoyed Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience. Jason Bonham is a world class drummer and the lead guitarist is amazingly talented. Jason Bonham put together a very classy, very real tribute to his father and the music of Led Zeppelin. His father would be proud. The only part that was strange was the crowd - I mean really - who sits down during the majority of a rock show? Stand up and get into the music people!! Also - why all the coming and going during the music. What is so important that you have to get up and down several times during the show?

Excelent show! Thanks Jason & friends. I think that it was not advertised enough. There are so many Zeppelin fans in the twin cities, this show should have been an easy sell out.

    JBLZE - Don't Miss It!

by STNDBF on 10/21/10State Theatre - Minneapolis

It took the band 2-3 songs to get warmed up. At first I thought we were in for a so-so show. But I was so wrong!! Minnesota - being the first stop in the US tour, they might have been a little nervous... They played two sets with a 15 minute intermission, totaling 3 hours! The old family films of Jason and his Dad were emotional for the audience & Jason himself. Really great stuff !! The lead guitar is AWESOME, The music is authentic, and the lead singer's tone is damn close to Robert Plant. I was lucky enough to have seen The Zep twice in the '70's.... Thank You Jason for rekindling some great memories.

    Like a Stairway to Heaven

    by bkl4 on 10/21/10State Theatre - Minneapolis

I didn't want it to end. It was the closest thing I'll get to watching the original Led Zeppelin. They sounded so much like Led Zeppelin. The videos and words from Jason Bonham really added to it. I could feel the honor he was portraying in his Dad's memory. It was everything I hoped it would be. I had great seats at a comfortable theatre and it was so fun. I'd go again and again if they'd come back!

    It Was GREAT

by SnoPilot on 10/21/10State Theatre - Minneapolis

First two songs I couldn't d discern any instrument from the other or hear the vocals! The person on the mixer board must have heard it too as the 3rd song was much better and the sound/mixing got even better as the show progressed. Most expect the live performance to be like one has heard on the radio over the years but any live performance can't duplicate the many tracks recorded and mastered in the studio. With what they have to work with on stage they did do an extremely GOOD job of presenting our long loved original Rock'n songs! They will NEVER die we hope and Jason is helping the cause! Visual clips on the stage sized screen behind the performers was a nice touch too, specially the home movies of Jason with family growing up with the influence of his father. If gas was cheaper and my car had fewer miles I would have driven to the next venue to experience the Experience again!

    zeppelin experience was amazing!!!

by outlawdenny on 10/21/10State Theatre - Minneapolis

Jason Bonham and company did an amazing job playing tribute to one of rock'n'rolls greatest groups. If you close your eyes, it's just so easy to imagine you're actually at a Led Zeppelin concert. The vintage footage of Jason and Bonzo on the screen behind the stage was a nice extra I didn't expect, but much appreciated. They played so many of the great songs, and I wish they could have played them all, but no one plays an eight hour show.

    JBLZE

by satelliteoflove on 10/21/10State Theatre - Minneapolis

Well, the crowd was very into this act. I didn't know what to expect AT ALL, so I was a little tentative. Needless to say, I was very impressed with the band's performance and the likeness of sound to Zep's. I give it an A-

JASON BONHAM'S LZ EXPERIENCE FRICKIN' RULED!

by HoneyStrive on 10/21/10State Theatre - Minneapolis

I had the best time at this show. Jason Bonham is amazing on the drums, and his father would be very, very proud. The other musicians did an outstanding job playing and singing the parts of Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, & John Paul Jones. I enjoyed everything about the tribute! My only regret is that the setlist didn't include Fool in the Rain, but I'm over it :)

    JBLZE was awesome!

by PatBeth on 10/21/10State Theatre - Minneapolis

Since John Bonham died in the fall of 1980 just after they had announced their tour dates and we were getting ready to go camp overnight in line for tickets, I've never had the chance to see Led Zeppelin, but this was as close as you can get. The show was awesome. Great musicians. Great video footage. Excellent set list. If you're a Zeppelin fan, you should go!

    Zepplin for my time

by outofmytime on 10/21/10State Theatre - Minneapolis

I was born to late, missed the great music of the 60s and 70s and although the magic of digital media has allowed me to listen to that great music time and time again, I never got to see the music I loved live. This was probably the closest I was going to get to see Led Zepplin music played live and I wasn't going to miss it. It was good, better than I expected and I was really impressed with the song choices and that they pulled them off. It took a little while but they brought the crowd to the feet. It may not have been the real Zepplin and it may not have been 20K plus, but I left the show excited and impressed
