One of the Best Concerts I've ever seen. The electrifying energy, the Janelle Monae band and her dance moves were AWESOME. Must see concert.
First and foremost-this was my first time visiting the YouTube theater. Literally every seat has an amazing view! First time seeing Janelle Monáe live - wow is she super talented. Her performance was beautiful, engaging, dance worthy the entire time.
Beautifully crafted songs delivered in her clear, powerful voice is enough for a memorable concert, but Monae puts on an amazing SHOW! A striking set, a tight, talented band of musicians, and dedicated, sexy dancers all added to the experience. Monae engaged the audience time and again with sheer originality and craft, but also gave nods to her influences: Prince, Jackson & Brown. Great concert!
I’ve been enjoying Janelle’s music for years, since she first became really known. I’m not a super music sleuth l, but I loved what I found. Being able to see them live was nice . I would love if the YouTube venue, and all venues, would adapt the habit of letting you preview what the seat will be like. Being able to see how much of the stage is in view impacts my decision greatly and follows closely behind price. I would love to see them again from a different angle because the performance I could see was amazing! I loved everything they put into the show and more and as a result I want more. I hope to see them again and soon!
The concert was absolutely amazing! She recreated the vibe of her beautiful album “The Age of Pleasure”. It was an atmosphere of freedom and love. She performed old favorites, joined her fans on the floor and sang beautifully the entire night. She is an amazing artist and I can’t wait to see her again.
Fantastic for the whole shows. Love it.love it love it love it love it
Brilliant show, performance, band, and set. She rocked it from start to finish. Will definitely see her in concert again!!
Janelle is one of the best ir should I say the best if the best. Her voice her moves and the way she emulate other great performers. I can’t wait to see her agaun
I loved the energy that she brought. Everyone was so excited to be there and she sounded great. Overall it was just a really pleasant experience
I had what should have been really great orchestra tickets, but I had a very obstructed view due to the stage set up and speaker sets. I couldn’t read any of the writing on the set background and half the show what obstructed. I think I should have been warned when I was buying the ticket because I certainly would have opted for the much cheaper tickets in the balcony with a clearer view. Janelle was incredible, obviously.
At first I was nervous because I’m a fan but didn’t know all the songs. She is without a doubt on my top 3 as performers. She puts on a show like no other. Very minute was action packed and had so much energy. I am officially a life time fan. ❤️
Best show of the season thus far. I genuinely think her music is a modern day equivalent of the miseducation of Lauryn Hill not to really compare them because Janelle is in a class all by herself.
I had never thought her show would be so good. Never saw her live in concert before just on television but now, she has my money for a ticket. Great show.
Great performer. Great show. Weather was good. Amphitheater was great. Staff very kind and courteous. Food was ok. I love that veterans are recognized to get free parking. Thank you. Only con was the distance from the parking lot to venue. Too far.
Janelle Monáe is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. An incredible show. So entertaining. Excellent dancers, musicians, set and lighting design. All around a great experience.
I've been a big fan of Janelle since her first album, but this is the first time I've caught her act live. Her voice is the best in the biz. Nearly angelic. Her rapport with the audience is unparalled. You really felt like you part of her crew, if only for an evening. The emphasis was less on a perfectly choreographed and lighted "performance"and more on just having a good time. Band was great, too. Especially the horn(y) section. The venue, Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, was only so-so, though. The acoustics are sub-par. Standing off the to side on the main floor, the echo from the back of the room detracted from the presentation. Why is this place square? Why is the ceiling so flat and boring? Seems like a lot could be done to sonically treat it with panels to deaden the echoes. The worst part, though, was the concession stands. $17 for a can of imported beer, excuse me? Why not have some good local brews on tap? The food choice was pretty sad, too.
What a great performer!! I had a wonderful time I’m also glad I got to see her. The opening act was not my favorite but they tried
Doors to venue opened late, people in gynormous line freezing as they stood outside. Concert started LATE even after receiving 5 emails from you claiming there was an “earlier” time change. Opening act was TERRIBLE and the less-than-par sound quality made it worse. The singer seemed completely out of it and voice was off-key. You don’t need 3 acts to open a mega star. The DJ alone would have been fine. Janelle of course superceded all expectations so ultimately it was worth it but seriously, if there is a concept then stick to it aesthetically and treat your HIGH PAYING customers with more respect.
The visuals, the energy her message, her voice, her outfits.. I can go on & on. She's amazing
Love the Bill Graham venue. Janelle Monae was amazing!! Great music, good staff, fun times!!
