  • Great Performance of Great Music

by VictorEast on 2/24/15Valley Performing Arts Center - NorthridgeRating: 5 out of 5

No smoke and mirrors, no costumed dancers, just a super-solid performance from a beautiful, gifted singer and her trio of exceptional musicians.

  • MAGNIFICENT MONHEIT

by lurkinc on 2/24/15Valley Performing Arts Center - NorthridgeRating: 5 out of 5

IF YOU EVER SEE THAT JANE MONHEIT IS SINGING SOMEWHERE YOU MUST GO. She has one of the greatest voices of our time. Her tone is clear, pure and riveting in its beauty. Her musicians are stars in their own right. Incredible show.

  • Jane Monheit was much more than expected!

by ppchulo on 2/24/15Valley Performing Arts Center - NorthridgeRating: 5 out of 5

Jane was great, not only her singing but her presence. Every song was prefaced by a short explanation of the history behind it, which made the experience that much more enjoyable and enriching. All things considered it was a great night of entertainment. Sincerely, Jerry H.

  • Tasteful vocal perfection!!!

by 100toursormore on 2/24/15Valley Performing Arts Center - NorthridgeRating: 5 out of 5

Truly a class act. While the arrangements and accompaniment was superb, Mrs. Monheit's vocals truly were a standout!. Her control and phrasing seem to come to her so effortlessly. A beautiful show that definitely made a fan out of me! Can't wait to see what she will do in the future.

  • Jane Monheit Extraordinary Talent

She has one of the most amazing voices of all time. Sexy stage presence. Incredible jazz musicians

by Geveldigezangeres on 6/25/13Burton Cummings Theatre - WinnipegRating: 4 out of 5

She sings really well, but has so many effects - like flipping her hair and posing like Drop Dead Diva (exactly), that it is distracting to her great singing. Makes it all seem less than genuine.

  • A night of Two Virtuosos at the Top of their Game

by grouchoo on 2/5/13Carolina Theatre - DurhamRating: 4 out of 5

Jane Monheit and Mark O'Connor seem like a match in musical heaven when they performed together last Saturday in Durham, NC. His prowess in fiddle-playing, and her innate understanding of the jazz vocal idiom are the reasons why this concert should tour more cities. When she sang a breath-taking 'Over the Rainbow', you could hear a pin drop in the room -- Monheit commanded the stage as soon as she sang the introductory verse a capella. When the second act opens, we see Mark O'Connor giving a virtuosic display of his dexterous way with the fiddle, unaccompanied. Together, he and Jane Monheit gave a beautiful shoe -- one wishes they'd devote an album together. He sings with his fiddle, while her voice has a violin-like timbre.

  • What a voice

by SLGCDK on 2/4/13Carolina Theatre - DurhamRating: 4 out of 5

Jane Monheit has such a beautiful voice-was a great concert, and Mark O'Conner was phenomonal.

  • Jane Monheit was wonderful

by truthwillwin on 2/4/13Carolina Theatre - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

I told my friend during the concert, that if I could sing i would want to sound like Jane. She is the ONLY person besides Judy Garland that does justice to "Somewhere over the Rainbow". I do hope they will return to the Carolina very soon.

Jane Monheit and Mark O'Connor provided a thoroughly enjoyable evening!

  • What talent!

by puppo on 2/4/13Carolina Theatre - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

Jane Monheit presented an evening of beautiful classic pop songs, along with virtuoso jazz/bluegrass violinist Mark O'Connor. Monheit's voice is outstanding; she can sing ballads, jazz and scat. Her onstage comments are informal, giving her a real rapport with the audience. O'Connor, with whom she recently recorded a jazz album, is one of the country's best fiddlers. I would see this concert all over again.

  • Jane Monheit group was terrific.

by BassEck on 2/4/13Carolina Theatre - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

Wonderful singer, great trio, Mark O'Connor was a perfect fit for Jane's singing. Such taste and dynamic range is rare to hear and is a delight when it happens. Every musician on stage had total command of their ax, arrangements were creative and appropriate, and the group was really really tight. Good sound and nice mix in the house.

  • Monheit was superb

by Teedoe on 3/16/12Williamsburg Lodge - WilliamsburgRating: 4 out of 5

I attended the performance at the Williamsburg Lodge. Ms. Monheit's voice and her stage presence made it an enjoyable evening. She had a good mix of standards with some Brazilian--mostly Jobim--numbers. Her sharing of bits and pieces about some of the songs were wonderful accents that were not too much and instead enhanced the listeners appreciation of the song and its composer. The concert was in a large hotel ballroom, and the audience sat around cocktail tables. It was a fairly full house, yet there was an intimacy that lends itself well to the kinds of songs and music that Ms. Monheit performs. This was my first time seeing her live and I hope to have another opportunity in the near future.

  • Jane Monheit worth the travel

by MikeinMidland on 3/13/12Williamsburg Lodge - WilliamsburgRating: 4 out of 5

Love to stay at the Williamsburg Inn. When I got an email saying Jane Monheit was going to appear I told my wife we had to go. The concert was well done. She has her own way of handling the Great American Songbook. If this style of music matches yours then you need to see this lady!

  • exquisite evening

by etruefan on 3/5/12Williamsburg Lodge - WilliamsburgRating: 5 out of 5

Jane was gorgeous! Her performance was flirty, sexy and out of this world. She some how mesmerized the room and you feel like a swank supper club in New York.

Jane is funny, sweet, and down to earth with a voice like an angel. The intimate setting of the Williamsburg Lodge was a perfect way to enjoy the evening.

This was a great event for us as the location was close, the venue intimate and the musicians superb. Ms. Monheit puts on a first rate performance and the musicians she surrounds herself with were fabulous. She has a voice that is perfect and quite emotional in her interpretation. We would go and see her again!!!

She is a wonderful Jazz Vocalist with an exceptional Trio. The selections were selected with attention to pacing which featured the musicians in the most professional manner. Pianist, Bassist and Drummer (husband) were as good as I have seen anywhere with the exception of Mr. Tony Bennett. I saw the early show at the Williamsburg Lodge. I am a professional pianist and have seen many of the good ones. I would bet she was influenced by Billy Holiday and Diane Kraul.
