About

James Blunt (aka James Hillier Blount) lived all over Europe as a child with a father in the British Army Air Corps, taking piano and violin sessions and later learning guitar and writing songs as a teenager. After graduating from the University of Bristol, Blunt served six years in the British Army and was stationed in Canada, Kosovo and Switzerland, achieving the rank of captain before he left the army in 2002. The next year, he signed to Custard Records and starting recording his first album in Los Angeles. Back to Bedlam came out in 2004, with five singles including “High,” “Wiseman,” and the smashes “You’re Beautiful” and “Goodbye My Lover,” and received five Grammy nominations. With his endearing voice, poignant and sincere lyrics, and catchy pop-rock sound, Blunt’s debut has sold over 11 million copies. His second album, 2007’s All the Lost Souls, produced the hit “1973,” and 2010’s Some Kind of Trouble featured “Stay the Night,” “So Far Gone,” and “If Time Is All I Have.” The folky lead single “Bonfire Heart” premiered in October 2013, a few weeks ahead of the release of his fourth and latest album, Moon Landing. With a world concert tour planned for 2014, this charming crooner is set to dazzle ticket holders across the globe.

    James Blunt w/ Christina Perri...perfect!

by aKimiThing on 4/29/11Michigan Theater - Ann Arbor

Christina Perri played nearly 10 songs, all of which were amazing. She is so raw and honest, and her voice is one of the best in the biz. Jimmy started the show by running down the aisle, which was so fun. He was super snarky and so enjoyable. The energy that excuded from him was contagious...and he sounded wonderful. He is on my MUST SEE again list....

    dynamic show!

by KMS324 on 4/25/11Beacon Theatre - New York

James Blunt played hard throughout the set....his live show sounded like his CD's.... clear, great range and unique arrangements. His audience was incredibly diverse from teeny bops yelling "I love you James" between songs to the older middle agers that struggled to stand up to listen! Acknowledgement needs to be given to his sound team, his instrumentals never drown him out.and his voice is able to sing through clear. No back bashing base or over zealous drums allows his music to shine. James Blunt was engaging, fun and didn't disappoint! Will see him again!

Loved every moment. James Blunt came out so energized and the audience was so enthusiastic! Loved when he stayed silent and let the audience sing the song for him. Very faithful fans. The night flew by. Could have done without the opening act.

I knew that I loved James Blunt's music -- great songs to sing along with.... but I didn't expect him to be such a good showman! Really enjoyed the show and so did my friend who went with me expecting NOT to like it!

    james blunt

by slate234 on 4/23/11Beacon Theatre - New York

blunt's need for audience idolatry is irritating although his music is terrific. he needs to stop talking about how he should be appreciated more and just sing.

    Some Kind of Talented

by steelgrave17 on 4/23/11Beacon Theatre - New York

Until the US, in particular terrestrial radio, gives him his just due, James Blunt will continue to be one of the most underrated songwriters plying his craft today. His witty exchanges with the audience, brief and infrequent though they are, mark Blunt as a special performer capable of commanding and mesmerizing the crowd. In addition, Paul Beard, Ben Castle, John Garrison, and especially Karl Brazil may be even more underrated than Blunt himself. They deserved more than just token spotlighting and a brief throwaway thanks by Blunt at the end of the show. Nevertheless, the show was fantastic, containing hit after hit and showcasing James Blunt's immense talent for songwriting and performing.
