Grandude The show was excellent. i enjoyed Honey Honey as well as Jake Bugg. Rockin
The concert absolutely blew my mind away. The atmosphere was just so chill no worries. Everyone was so supportive of Jake. The crowd was the most sickest crowd. Jakes' voice up close, live honestly it was the best thing I couldn't have asked for a better performance. Every song Jake would sing you could tell he was really into it giving so much effort towards each song. His voice memorized you it was like you were in a trance and he was an angel singing his beautiful little heart out. The opening was pretty good to very interactive with the crowd, which is a good thing. The only thing I would change is the security within the concert they were horrid, very sassy,as well as bossy.
The show was great jake bugg had a diverse set. The balcony seats are comfortable and you get to sit down the whole time. No one stands up and security is pretty tight.
He played all of his first album and some new songs. He and the band rocked the house. He's such a classy artist, he was taking pics and shaking hands with fans after the show outside. The sound was clean, and very clear. They sounded great.
Jake is fabulous. Dylan meets Elvis Costello. Very tight band. Jake plays great guitar. He's going places. Go see him!
Jake is one of the most talented young musicians out there today. Truly an amazing show. I look forward to seeing him again.
Brought my boyfriend, and now he's more of a fan that I was. We were both so impressed with his abilities. He had the crowd eating out of his hand halfway thru the first song. Will definitely buy tickets next time he's around.
I liked this guy after hearing his first CD (and wearing it out). His music is greatly influenced by the greats of R&R such as B. Holly, Hendrix, Young, Beatles, Dylan, Oasis, Donovan. His sound is nonetheless fresh and must be experienced live. He played about ten (of 14) songs from his album, and finished his set with a few new songs which were great closers!! (Kingpin and Slumville Sunrise). Also covered Neil Young's Out of the Blue and encored with Lightning Bolt. His guitar playing was inspiring - he's really good at such a young age and his mates on bass and drums were a great backbone. A great sound from only a trio! Hope they make regular ventures to Boston.
Jake Bugg at the Paradise Rock Club was a brilliant way to spend my Wednesday night. A small venue suits him very well. He is an incredible guitar player, with strumming styles that I have never seen before. I highly recommend going to see him!
I love Jake's album and was really excited for the opportunity to see him live. He did not disappoint! His performance was top notch and we got to hear tons of songs from his album plus some new material as well. I am so glad I was able to go and if he comes back to Boston I will be there again.
I loved Jake Bugg's performance! Each time he sang, he was full of soul. I was about two people from the stage, and I could clearly see all of the emotion he put into singing. The guitar solos are amazing. Although I obviously loved the show, there were was one thing that kind of disappointed me. I wanted Jake Bugg to talk a bit more about each song or something like that. Some people were complaining about the length, but he is nineteen and the timing was fine!
Jake Bugg is a consummate performer with a true shining talent vocally, lyrically and instrumentally. His huge talent somewhat belies the semi shy, self effacing young man who takes to the stage and seems surprised by the audience's unified response of crazy admiration and Buggafilia. Adding some new songs to a perfect set of the entire first album simply left us all gagging for more
Jake Bugg is the real thing. What you see is what you get.
Have been listening to Jake Bugg for over a year now and when I saw he was going to be doing a show in Toronto I couldn't miss it. My already high expectation were surpassed he sounded better live the he does on record would recommend going to see him if you have the chance!
I was so excited when I found out Jake was playing a show in the states. I discovered his music a little more than a year ago and fell in love. Saw Jake in January for the first time at the Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco. He put on a great show. He sounds the same - if not better, than on the album. For those who say he's just a Bob Dylan impersonator, I'll have to disagree. Bugg has his own sound and is bringing hope to modern music with his songwriting and unique voice. The kid is only 19 and has more talent than one would expect. His songs are melodic, catchy, and each one differs from the other. The entire crowd was buzzing and totally absorbed by his performance as well. I would strongly recommend going to one of his shows.
Got a ticket to see what all the fuss was about. What I witnessed was a glorified busker with a bland backing band. Hands down most boring "professional" act I've ever seen. Avoid like the plague. Every song was forgettable 3-chord rubbish, with no distinguishing characteristics at all. With all the press shots of Bugg smoking cigarettes and generally looking hardcore, I was not expecting him to sound like pathetic Bob Dylan impersonator, with cringeworthy lyrics and zero musical imagination. However, that is how I would best sum up what I witnessed.
I've been listening to Jake for a while, and I knew there was a lot of hype. I love his album but thought people were exaggerating about him being soooooo amazing. Well this proved to me they weren't. His album is good, but this kid's AMAZING live. It's like nothing I've ever seen. No gimmicks. Just pure talent. He barely says a thing but the music speaks for itself. He plays guitar like nobody else. I was moving and grooving and just enjoying it. I don't just recommend going to see him, I'm begging you to! You won't regret it!
