JACKYL IN CONCERT:
Southern metal pioneers Jackyl hold the distinct honor of being the first — and possibly the only — band to ever feature a chainsaw solo on a track, a feat they accomplished with their 1992 debut single "The Lumberjack." Chainsaw or not, Jackyl's adrenalin-filled live shows continue to make sparks fly, as frontman Jesse James Dupre leads the band through fiery renditions of favorites like "Down on Me" and "Push Comes to Shove." Back on the road in 2014, the band is all revved up and ready to throttle at select US tour dates.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Formed in Georgia in the early '90s, Jackyl made an quick name for themselves with their hard-charging live shows, which sometimes featured chainsaw solos by frontman Jesse James Dupre. Their self-titled 1992 debut went platinum on the strength of hard rock hits like "The Lumberjack" and "Down on Me," establishing them as primary force within the burgeoning southern metal microgenre. Over the course of seven studio albums, several live albums, and two best-of compilations, the band has demonstrated a stamina and intensity that they carry on stage every time they perform. Back on the road in 2014, Jackyl are ready and raring to give it their all at tour dates around the country.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
" As always, Jesse and the guys tore it up! Great song selection, excellent audience feedback, and guys played and drank on without a break. Not to mention they take the time after a show to shake a hand and say howdy to anybody that wants to meet them."
" It's a party every time at a Jackyl show. They interact with the audience and each other. You can tell they still enjoy playing together."
"Jackyl was amazing. They really rocked the house and made the room go boom! We all had a blast!"
Have seen Jackyl many times and they always put on a great show
Jackyl was great. Fun show as always. Venue was pretty neat, but the beer prices were way too high. Also, they ran people out immediately after the show so the band did not appear at the vendor booth as in times past at the Cotillion.
Attended their show (my 2nd time) on the October 20th. High energy, great songs and just FUN. Their merchandise isn't overpriced either. I bought their "newest" CD and it is FANTASTIC (has some live versions of old songs). Will definitely see them again!
The temple live has the best sound and with jackal playing nothing could beat it best ever
This show was just amazing from the opening act with local band Dusty Grant to Jackyl, they had us dancing and enjoying every moment. My daughter, who wasn’t familiar with the music, ended up singing along. The venue is always great, with friendly staff that always makes us feel welcome
Jesse Dupree still got it . The band came Out and jammed . If you knew them in the 90s don’t miss this show
The building in amazing to walk through. Its like a castle, the architecture and Art is fantastic. Great venue and great concert!
Concert was off the chain....saw! Jackyl never disappoints! HEAR! HEAR!
Loved it!! Jackyl never disappoints!! Did not like the Factory in Chesterfield so much. Man next to me fired up the bigest joint I've seen in a long time, but security insisted that it was me. Why my marijuana dress? 😂 Guess I was guilty in his eyes. Oh well it was still a GREAT show.
Exalent show love the chainsaw great jam had a great time
Awesome! The Factory is a great venue. Both bands gave energetic, entertaining performances. Can't wait to go back.
Took my son (He's 22), After the house lights came up, Drummer tossed my kid a stick in the 2nd row. 2-Drunk (insert word here/women) pounched on top of my kid. I asked politely once to get off my son. Only 1 listened. I asked again. She started swinging on me and got me 3-4x. I took her old drunk woman punches like a good boy right?? So the show was great. Security was uninvolved to say it politely. My kid has a story to tell my future grandchildren. Let me tell you about the time grandpa got popped by some big old drunk woman... I don't mind that at all..
The venue was very nice. Excellent seating. Beverages were very expensive. Stephen Pearcy band put on a very good show. Stephen’s vocals sounded great. I’ve been waiting to see Jackyl for many years and finally got the chance. Awesome performance!
2cd time I've seen Jackyl and they never disappoint. If you like it loud this the band to see
I saw 3 times now at the Reverb, 1st x I saw them was bike week, in Maryland or NJ? n once at Full throttle during bike week last year, stayed at Pappy hole it was awesome, From what I saw, Jesse is a hands on guy always seemed willing to do whatever, he sure seems really down to earth n does not act bossy at all to anyone. Then again a month ago I saw them. He saved me from a bouncer thank u for that Jesse! They r always great!! Great energy coming from the whole band always! Music is awesome n loud!!! Love everything about the band! Jesse always interacts with the audience, always a great time!!! Was going to see them again on the 25th but it got postponed, I hope everyone is alright! Will be going to see them again, I am sure!!!
They rocked out and didn't disappoint. Small venue and very, very loud. Loved it!
Band was fantastic. Very engaging and enthusiastic.. an extremely memorable experience!!
Jackyl was extremely entertaining, great band. HOB is an excellent venue providing great service and venue layout. Food was awesome as well. I will return again to HOB.
Jackyl played all their well-known songs and some newer material. Their set was about 1 hour 20 minutes. JJ Dupree did a great job of keeping the audience engaged with some comical call and response interludes. He can also really handle a chainsaw well, which he did in their encore song (The Lumberjack). As for the rest of the band, they offered a really BIG sound for just three guys - amazing. Altogether a great show. Tickets were not expensive, so you get a lot of entertainment for the price of admission. This was the second time I've seen Jackyl and I would see them again.
All fun all the time and the bad was super tight!!!
