  • Kids Loved It

by queenswoman on 8/8/14NYCB Theatre at Westbury - WestburyRating: 4 out of 5

Overall, a very entertaining performance! It was great that they let the little ones know that the Giant was just an actor so as not to scare them. The children's favorites were the giant and Jack, especially when he was making fun of the mayor. The actors involved the children in the performance, as well, which always makes it that much more fun for them.

  • Delightful show...clever,witty, and charming

by Anonymous on 7/22/13CSUN - Cal State Northridge - NorthridgeRating: 5 out of 5

Being a former high school drama teacher, and (I'd like to think) knowledgeable about productions with middle school and high school students, I have high expectations. I am happy to say, therefore, that I thoroughly enjoyed this production of jack and the Beanstalk. The acting, writing, directing, scenery, singing, props, makeup, and costumes all blended together to create a show that would charm the most hard-to-please critic (that could be me). My congratulations to everyone involved...you have a production to be proud of!

  • Teen Production Wows

by Anonymous on 7/16/13CSUN - Cal State Northridge - NorthridgeRating: 5 out of 5

This musical play is a total romp--the teenage singers/dancers/actors all had such a good time it made all the audience have a good time, and the writing is new, clever, fun, and really diverting. Staging, costumes, the whole shebang was awesome. The best teen musical theater summer program in Los Angeles.

  • What a great show for children!

by mulliat on 8/9/11Charlotte Lane Dominick Theatre at the BJCC - BirminghamRating: 4 out of 5

My children, 4 and 3, talked about Jack and the Beanstalk all weekend long after we saw it Saturday morning. I took them for my three-year-old's birthday, and they had so much fun. It kept their attention the whole time. They had a blast! We will definitely try to continue attending the Children's Theatre as we can.

  • Disappointing - but, kids enjoyed

by ATJx2 on 8/5/11Charlotte Lane Dominick Theatre at the BJCC - BirminghamRating: 3 out of 5

Growing up in Birmingham, we went to Children's Theatre 2 or 3 times a year. It was held in the concert hall (much larger). That accommodated the large school crowd, but the productions, too. This particular production would have been LOST on that large stage. I was truly disappointed in the quality of the show. That said, the kids enjoyed it. But, being a native, I feel the caliber is much less than it formerly was. For $32 I expected much more.

  • Entertaining!!!

I took my 3 year old son to Jack and the Beanstalk and we really enjoyed the performance. I thought the acting was excellent and the set design and costumes were perfect. My son really seem to enjoy the show and stayed focused on what was going on the duration of the show. He loved getting to meet the characters afterward as well.

my daughter enjoyed the show immensely. She was laughing loudly and hiding behind me when the giant came out. It was really nice to get to take pictures with the characters after the show. This is something that we can do as a family and I am looking forward to the next show.

  • Absolutely wonderful!!

My granddaughter, Kellis and I really enjoyed Jack and the Beanstalk. It was ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!!! All of the characters were great, my personal favorite was the giant. Of all the plays I've seen this was my favorite and Kellis' too! As always the play was age appropriate. We can't wait for the next event!!
