    Funny, Engaging Play

by BJSG on 4/21/15Brooks Atkinson Theatre - New York

Sure the Jewish mother character is stereotypical, but Tyne Daly pulls it off beautifully. She and Harriet Harris play off each other well. Great cast, fun story, not a dull moment.

Tyne Daly is a Broadway Gem!!!

by chrisnf on 4/21/15Brooks Atkinson Theatre - New York

I didn't know much about the show before I went, and I think that added to my enjoyment. David Hyde Pierce wrote a great story, and the songs were quirky and very funny. The entire cast was a joy to watch. Having survived many family weddings, it was fun to see the truth played out on stage. Went with my sister, who is awesome, and I think between the two of us, we laughed so hard that those around us probably need to see the show again to hear it all!

It Shoulda Been Somebody Else In My Seat

by AnnieRei on 4/21/15Brooks Atkinson Theatre - New York

What a pathetic, lame waste of a Broadway theatre and many talented actors. The jokes are completely unfunny, the characters are stereotypical bordering on offensive, the music is utterly forgettable, the orchestra is weak, and the acting other than Tyne Daly is regrettable. No wonder there's no intermission: there'd be no audience for the second act.

    The critics got it wrong

by nannysandy on 4/19/15Brooks Atkinson Theatre - New York

This is a very enjoyable show. I was with 3 friends and we all loved it. The audience around us laughed constantly with strong applause. I don't know what show the critics were watching, but this show is VERY GOOD! I hope word of mouth keeps this show alive! It is a feel good show.

This was a light, entertaining show although it had its surprise moments. Cast was excellent. It wasn't Les Mis or Phantom- but not everything has to be!!
