    Disappointed

by MasonCity on 12/7/11Temple for the Performing Arts - Des Moines

The way it was presented in the advertisement as having dancing etc - there was one young man that came out once in awhile and danced alone but we could not even see it as he stood at the front of the stage where only those seated in the front row could see. The singing was mediocore at best - the accordian player was the entertainment. The fiddle player was entertaining as well. The harpist was fair. I would not go again. The venue was awesome.

    Irish Christmas was spectacular!!

by 91935 on 12/17/10Balboa Theatre - San Diego

Irish Christmas was a wonderful event that was heart warming and filled with good cheer. It brought home what it means to have family, friends and traditions surrounding us at the holidays. The music, dancers and singers brought so much joy to the audience. It was a spectacular performance!! Cheers!

More like a sleepy Irish Christmas

by Chrissy2010 on 12/15/10Balboa Theatre - San Diego

The dancers and singers were quite nice. However, I was expecting something a little more Christmas. Get some more Christmas Props; the band was dressed in Black...not very festive...the rest of the crew totally lacking in the costume department. Since it was a small cast, should have introduced them at the end and there was no introduction.

    Holiday enjoyment

by aussiedogluvr on 12/15/10Balboa Theatre - San Diego

When I ordered our tickets I didn't really know what to expect, since I had only seen concerts at the Balboa. The Irish Christmas was so enjoyable because it had a little bit of everything. The dancers were wonderful as were the singers. The story teller was a treat. But the button accordian player was AMAZING. All the musicians were great, but he was well... amazing. I also really liked that the cast was in the lobby as we left. It was nice to shake their hands and tell them how much we enjoyed the show. Thanks for bringing it to the Balboa Theatre.

Great show. Enjoyed it very much. I would like to take my grandsons to the show if it comes to San Diego again.

    Very Nice But...

by Niambh on 12/15/10Balboa Theatre - San Diego

This was a very nice show but somehow just didn't seem Christmasy to me. Yes, there were Christmas songs but no Christmas set or attire, even in the band. We were hoping this would "kick off" our holiday but it failed to do that. We've been to many Irish events/plays and this was just nice/ok.

    Irish Christmas Not

by Happening on 12/15/10Balboa Theatre - San Diego

I was disappointed...The group was very folksy...and not much Christmas...No recognizable Irish songs....Not worth the price! Sorry!!!
