    A movie and a concert

by LSODM on 3/12/24Howard L. Schrott Center for the Arts - Indianapolis

The movie -- The Passion of Joan of Arc -- was beautiful and interesting. The Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra (plus the choirs of DePauw University) did a great job. I enjoy the Schrott Theater (on the Butler campus). It sounds good and is comfortable.

    It was wonderful

by Vickie on 3/14/23Howard L. Schrott Center for the Arts - Indianapolis

I took grandma, 11 & 12 year old boys & we all loved it including me who is in her 50’s. Combining the movie & the symphony is such fun entertainment.

    Terrible Seats

by Katie on 3/14/23Howard L. Schrott Center for the Arts - Indianapolis

The orchestra was wonderful. They played original music for the 1931 production of Frankenstein, which ran simultaneously on a screen behind them. The two—music and visuals—were designed to work together. However, although we had what we assumed would be wonderful seats (first row), our view was almost entirely blocked by the orchestra musicians. Given the nature of the performance, these seats should not have been sold.

I was touched in my deepest set of emotions watching and listening to all of the Orchestra’s gifted talented members. Thank you for using your gift and for sharing it with me last Saturday night.

    Wonderful concert!

by Organist on 4/26/22Howard L. Schrott Center for the Arts - Indianapolis

The cello soloist, Sterling Elliot, playing Hayden, was simply amazing and it was a joy to watch him. What a gifted young man! The members of the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra are superb in their own right as their performance of "Sound and Fury" showed. And conductor Matthew Kraemer showed his command of the precision and emotion portrayed by the orchestra in "Metamorphosen." A Wonderful concert!

    Always the best entertainment

by Cmoore on 3/22/22Howard L. Schrott Center for the Arts - Indianapolis

I've been attending the silent movies with the Chamber Orchestra for several years. Always a highlight for my sister and I. Orchestra and arrangements are perfection for the movie. They always make the movie better. The orchestra members are superb. We always get seats close to watch the musicians. Always recommend to people. Just wish they had more nights of the showings. I'd return to see it again.

Such an interesting and delightful performance! The opportunity to experience “Metropolis” was a unique privilege, but hearing the beauty of this fine orchestra was moving and unforgettable. Thanks!
