Il Divo In Concert
This classical crossover group smashes barriers and breaks ceilings in every genre they tackle, whether opera, pop, folk, or world music. Put together in the U.K. in the early 2000s as a result of a worldwide search by ‘American Idol' and ‘Britain's Got Talent' judge Simon Cowell, the four spectacularly talented, classically trained men of Il Divo quickly found their niche as classical-flavored pop stars. After releasing their acclaimed, self-titled album in 2004, Il Divo would quickly reach No. 1 on the United States' Billboard 200—as well as topping charts in other countries—with their breakthrough second album, ‘Ancora.' Their subsequent albums and collaborations—with Céline Dion, Juan Gabriel, and others—only found them further success. ‘The Christmas Album' remains a worldwide staple, while their 2015 masterpiece ‘Amor & Pasión' comprised Spanish-only songs in the styles of tangos, mambas, and boleros. The group's 2018 album, ‘Timeless,' features a number of rapturous covers, including "Hola," a Spanish-language reinterpretation of Adele's "Hello."
Their impressive touring itinerary started in 2006 with a performance at the FIFA World Cup opening game between Germany and Costa Rica; that event was followed by their participation in Barbra Streisand's 2006 North American Tour. Il Divo tours yearly, also performing at U.S. President Barack Obama's 2009 Purple Inauguration Ball and the closing ceremony of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. What makes their concerts such a spectacle is partly the colorful combination of their voices—a heroic tenor (Urs Bühler), a classic tenor (Sébastien Izambard), a baritone (Carlos Marín), and a lyric tenor (David Miller), the four blending into a fantastic tapestry of brilliant sound. Aspiring to the style of the Three Tenors (Domingo, Carreras, and Pavarotti), Il Divo gives immense pleasure with performances of well-known songs, trading off melodies and finding shimmering harmonies that only these four men's voices can create.
Absolutely divine concert. Il divo is the best. The talent they have is unmeasurable. The Christmas theme was perfect. Just perfect.
Outstanding!! The power of the combined voices was tremendous!
I was thrilled to know Ill Divo was presenting here in Montgomery. I am a huge fan. Thank you to whoever made this possible!!! Keep these wonderful artists coming!!!
It was great to see IlDivo again. I've been to 4 other concerts of theirs. The others were hard to hear because of all the screaming in the audience. I'm glad they love IlDivo but it was difficult to enjoy when it was hard to hear. This concert was wonderful (no screaming LOL ) but so enjoyable. The sound and balance could have been better but it was just so good to see them together even after such a hard loss when Carlos passed. We all mourned that. Stephen is SOOOO good however. Love, love love his voice and on stage personality. I hope this helps.
The music was beautiful but we still miss Carlos. The group is still strong, talented and charming.
il Divo puts on a fantastic concert , as usual, even with David suffering a bit from some throat malady. I am willing to drive quite a ways to hear this ultra-talented group.
The concert was magnificent. It was truly a great experience to see this group and experience their music in person. I do, however, think the sound system was not quite in tune with good sound. I'm not sure what was wrong, but something was out of balance. A couple of the singers, the tenors I believe, were struggling with their voices that night. I'm wondering if the smoke in the auditorium was irritating their voices. And one last thing. I really wish the seats were more comfortable. The foam is completely worn out, and sitting was very uncomfortable.
A spectacular show by this quartet. Beautiful sound, terrific band and drummer. If they are at a venue near you make plans to go and enjoy them.
Such great voices! Everything was spectacular and very entertaining.
Seemed too loud. One member seemed to have layringitis and was limited
I saw this group in Montgomery, Alabama. The most amazing group I have ever seen and so personable. I just wish they would promote themselves more in the states so I could see them again, especially the central states. Everyone I spoke to has not heard of them. They could sweep this country with a little publicity.
Very good show. They gave us all they had. We enjoyed the experience and would do it again…..sometime.
I bought tickets for my Mother for a Christmas gift and we were extremely disappointed. The concert was so loud that the sound sounded like it was all running together. The orchestra was so loud that it was over powering the singers. The only singer that was clear was Steven LaBrie. The rest sounded off key and not clear. My Mother was really looking forward to this concert and requested to see it. She has seen them in the past and loved them. She describes them as singing like angels. Needless to say she was extremely disappointed and so was I.
Wonderful program as always!! Have seen them several times Always great. Hot last min tix center stage 5 th row!
Beautiful music-Handsome Men! They put on such a wonderful performance.
These young men are great. Their voices are outstanding and the song selection was tops. I have seldom seen so many standing ovations.
Excellent presentation, really beautiful. We enjoyed this amazing show
Il Divo was superb! Their voices are phenomenal. They worked with the audience.
Il divo was fantastic. Started the holiday off wonderfully . Their voices are exquisite . Warm to audience . Spread joy throughout the audience . Thank you so much for coming to The Ocean Casino .
il Divo is an absolutely amazing group with the most unique sound. The Holiday Tour was my fourth time seeing the band. The show was a perfect mix of Christmas music, a few of their classics as well as two of their recordings from the XX album to be released in February. They are so talented and entertaining, giving their all in each and every performance. A wonderful experience!
