Il Divo In Concert
This classical crossover group smashes barriers and breaks ceilings in every genre they tackle, whether opera, pop, folk, or world music. Put together in the U.K. in the early 2000s as a result of a worldwide search by ‘American Idol' and ‘Britain's Got Talent' judge Simon Cowell, the four spectacularly talented, classically trained men of Il Divo quickly found their niche as classical-flavored pop stars. After releasing their acclaimed, self-titled album in 2004, Il Divo would quickly reach No. 1 on the United States' Billboard 200—as well as topping charts in other countries—with their breakthrough second album, ‘Ancora.' Their subsequent albums and collaborations—with Céline Dion, Juan Gabriel, and others—only found them further success. ‘The Christmas Album' remains a worldwide staple, while their 2015 masterpiece ‘Amor & Pasión' comprised Spanish-only songs in the styles of tangos, mambas, and boleros. The group's 2018 album, ‘Timeless,' features a number of rapturous covers, including "Hola," a Spanish-language reinterpretation of Adele's "Hello."
Their impressive touring itinerary started in 2006 with a performance at the FIFA World Cup opening game between Germany and Costa Rica; that event was followed by their participation in Barbra Streisand's 2006 North American Tour. Il Divo tours yearly, also performing at U.S. President Barack Obama's 2009 Purple Inauguration Ball and the closing ceremony of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. What makes their concerts such a spectacle is partly the colorful combination of their voices—a heroic tenor (Urs Bühler), a classic tenor (Sébastien Izambard), a baritone (Carlos Marín), and a lyric tenor (David Miller), the four blending into a fantastic tapestry of brilliant sound. Aspiring to the style of the Three Tenors (Domingo, Carreras, and Pavarotti), Il Divo gives immense pleasure with performances of well-known songs, trading off melodies and finding shimmering harmonies that only these four men's voices can create.
Absolutely Astounding. Hope to see them again on their next tour.
Terrific production packaging, gorgeous voices and handsome men, what else do you want? Okay, the demographics may have indicated deaf old ears, but I wanted the sound to be turned down about ten notches. It sounded so much better with my fingers in my ears - I could even understand what they were saying then. Somebody must have gotten the word out b/c the second act was somewhat less loud, though it gained in decibels during the evening. The graphics display at backstage was inscrutable most of the time, but I really enjoyed the dancing lady in the hoop skirt form. Light show repetitive but very enjoyable, loved the way it lit the audience from time to time. Canned dialogue was apparent - oh who cares, the guys are so good-looking!
One of the absolutely GREATEST concerts I have attended and I have attended more than 100 from Josh Groban to The Rolling Stones, U2 and more. These gentleman entertain their audience, have the most spectacular voices and genuinely enjoy what they do. Plus seeing them in the Fabulous Fox Theater in Atlanta was a definite plus.
The concert last night was unbelievable. It is rare that you attend a concert and find the act to be even better in person than they are on cd, dvd, or television. They were absolutely fantastic. Not only are each of the four men incredibly talented and personable on stage, but the stage set up with the screen in back was fascinating. Whoever did the filmwork did a wonderful job. I enjoyed watching it almost as much as them. Even the orchestra was great. The sound system was incredible. I just can not say enough about it. We drove 180 miles to the concert and then back home and I would do it again in a minute.
This was my first concert by the group and I was amazed at their talent. I had seen them previously on television and of course the internet. The show was everything I had expected plus! I would highly recommend them to anyone who truly enjoys good vocals and classic music!
Il Divo wowed the crowd at the sold-out Fabulous Fox Theatre in Atlanta last night! This was my 3rd Il Divo concert and they are as fresh and talented and amazing as ever! If they are ever in your area...make every effort to see them! Five years and going strong!
Lots of fun and beautiful voices. Not bad to look at either! My favorites were the Italian version of Knights in White Satin and Unchained Melody.
It was literally the best concert I've ever seen!!! Music was amazing and the song choices were AWESOME!
The concert was fantastic. The Fox Theater Atlanta was the perfect venue to spend "An Evening with Il Divo".
This was the best concert I have ever attended. These guys have the best voices in the world. Must GO SEE
These 4 gentlemen are fantastic. They have great voices individually and when combined into a quartet the sound is great!!
