Ice Cube on Tour
These days, Ice Cube appears more in movies as an actor than as a musician putting down new records, but he still finds time to tour a stage show that's filled with some of the biggest hits in hip-hop history. Ice Cube's library of songs pulls from all of the projects that he's helped take to the top. The West Coast legend can mix it up with jams like "Straight Outta Compton" from his days with N.W.A., "Bow Down" and "Gangsta Nation" from the Westside Connection supergroup songbook and, especially, unmistakable cuts from his solo canon like "Check Yo Self" and "It Was a Good Day." An Ice Cube live show is like a trip through rap history's most pivotal moments, because Cube has been there for it all. Whether he's playing Staples Center in Los Angeles or a casino amphitheater across the country, this is gangster rap in its purest form, from the man who rallied a generation around questioning the sociopolitical system three decades ago — and he's still a damn fine entertainer on stage.
Ice Cube in Concert
In 1969, O'Shea Jackson was born in South Central Los Angeles. He formed the original gangster rap group N.W.A. in 1987 with Dr. Dre, MC Ren, Eazy-E, Arabian Prince and DJ Yella. They released their debut album, Straight Outta Compton, the following year and became arguably rap music's biggest stars. A hip-hop renaissance man to say the least, Ice Cube has gone on to release 10 solo albums (five are platinum certified), and he's sold over 20 million albums worldwide. As an actor, he's starred in films like Boyz n the Hood, Higher Learning and Barbershop, and he's produced and starred in the entire Friday and Ride Along movie franchises. He even coproduced the 2015 N.W.A. biopic with Dr. Dre. As if his stardom needed any more validation, in 2017 he received a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame.

Regardless the numerous movies, TV shows, etc... Ice Cube has not forgotten his true roots!!!! He will forever be die hard Rap/Hip-Hop. I grew up with NWA and listening to them and the numerous other artists back then. That is when Hip-hop was a true art form, Gansta rap was at its best! There has not been anything like it since!!! What these people are calling Hip-hop today is a bunch of garbage for the most part, because they aren't really talking about nothing! Cube talked about real stuff, and I love that he hasn't changed and is still true to himself as one of the BEST who ever did it!!!
I have been to over 75 concerts and Im going to say this was one of my favorite ones. Pitbull was great and I had a lot of fun.
I didn't want the show to end it was an awesome outcome. Pitbull and the rest of he performers were incredible. Best concert I have attended by far this yr.
This show was Great for Old school fans and new fans just like me. I was never reallly a ice cube fan but his live show proved that he is one of the most talented artist out there! Much love to Ice Cube and WC for doing their thang.
I would recommend going to see him it was better than I thought and I wish it would have lasted longer he was only on for about 45mins....
ice Cube put on a GREAT performance and took back old school!!!
The show he put on was great!!! He definitely got the crowd hype. I just wish it wouldve lasted longer.
We sat in our VIP seats for about 30 seconds after Ice Cube came bangin at 200% .....dub c was at 150:)
This was my first time seeing Ice Cube in concert having been a fan of his music and movies for 19 years or so. I had tickets to his midnight show last year but decided at the last minute not to go and sold my tickets. He did not disappoint. He came out hard and rocked the house from beginning to end. I danced the whole time. I had a VIP table and that was definitely worth getting since the place was very crowded. He took us through the decades of his career with his hits as well as others. If he comes to your town, be sure to check him out!
I've been to alot of concerts in my life, but this was like a must that I had to see Ice Cube once in my life. I'm not a star struck person, but when it comes to Ice Cube it would be a dream of mine to meet him in person before I die!! I invited my friend from high school, we have known eachother over 20 years, and back in the day when we use to go out, we use to bump his music. He is one sexy man.....
I've been an Ice Cube fan for over 20 years, but I believe that the opening acts were point less. I'm not sure if this had something to do with the promotion, but to have his fans waiting and standing for two hours and only receiving an hour of one of the best rappers alive; it disappointed me and the homie. Cube is a star and I'm sure he can get better opening performers then ones that were at the Grove last night. Ice Cube is an excellent performer, but I believe I would've enjoyed the concert more if Cube gave me more of his time.
it was awesome. ice cube always puts on a great show
I've followed Ice Cube since he first came out with NWA and he put it down. Him and DUB C had crazy energy that kept the crowd excited and participating the entire performance. Would definitely recommend and would also c again
After his sold out midnight show last year that I decided not to attend at the last minute, I couldn't wait for him to come back this year and he did. My sister and I got VIP table seating because we've been to HOB concerts before and always had General Admission. VIP was totally worth it and so was going to the show! I stood up the whole time once Ice Cube took the stage and danced the whole time that I was actually sweating! He performed all the good songs that I like and especially the old school songs, starting with the 80's to songs from today, by him and by other artists. I also like the fact that he thanked his fans for being there and said that we're the ones that keep him doing what he does. What I didn't like was that people were smoking cigarettes (which was not allowed) and weed (which is not allowed anywhere as we all know, LOL) and there were two cops just a few feet on the side of me and if I could smell it, I knew they could! You weren't allowed to take pictures but here are some for proof that the staff just didn't do their job. But oh well, I still had so much fun and will definitely go see him again!
This concert was all that!!!!!!! I love Ice Cube! He was great and made it a point to sing at least a portion of every song! He gets better every year!
Ice cube was a hit, and of course dub c was bangin too..... even tho it didnt last that long it was still worth the ticket......West Side baby.......
AMAZING SHOW..HE IS SUCH A HUMBLE PERSON.. REALLY CONNECTED WITH THE AUDIENCE..
Ice Cube was so amazing, performing all his hits through the years and also his most recent album, which is great!
As a long-time Ice Cube fan, I've got to say that being able to see him in concert was a dream come true. He had energy and flair, just as I expected. He sang his most popular songs and plugged some off of his latest album. I only have two critiques: (1) where were the other songs??? "Steady Mobbin", "Wicked", "True to the Game", "Pushin' Weight", "Until We Rich", anything from AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted, "Friday" (I mean, c'mon). Perhaps I'm being too critical here, but he spent time talking about the volution of hip-hop from the 80s on up... so why didn't he show more of HIS evolution as a rapper??? (2) why were other songs from the 80s and 90s played / sung??? Ice Cube and WC were singing Naughty by Nature's "OPP"... why??? I'm went to see Cube sing HIS songs. The time could have been utilized more efficiently.
