I PREVAIL IN CONCERT:
Post-hardcore punks I Prevail haven't let up since they first grabbed fans' attention with their incendiary cover of Taylor Swift's "Blank Space" in 2014. The band sets itself apart from the pack with a unique mix of raw punk energy, catchy hooks, and electronic textures, and in concert it all gets turned up to 11 with mosh pit-inspiring standouts like "Crossroads", "Love, Lust, and Liars", and "The Enemy". Clean singer Brian Burkheiser carries the melodies on their calm segments before screamer Eric Vanlerberghe unleashes the beast on their savage breakdowns. It's a yin-yang approach that never fails to fire up crowds at their infectiously high-energy live shows. For their Strike the Match Tour in 2016, I Prevail is teaming up with The White Noise and My Enemies & I to bring their memorable choruses and hard-hitting tones to ticket buyers across North America.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Since they first came together in Southfield, MI in 2013, I Prevail has quickly gone from local favorite to viral sensation. The group – initially comprised of Brian Burkheiser (clean vocals), Eric Vanlerberghe (scream vocals), Steve Menonian (lead guitar), Jordan Berger (rhythm guitar), and Lee Runestad (drums) – immediately started recording demos following their first rehearsals. Things took off when they released their post-hardcore version of Taylor Swift's "Blank Space", which received over 20 million views on YouTube and was featured on the compilation Punk Goes Pop, Vol. 6. Their 2015 debut EP Heart Vs. Mind garnered more attention for the group, helping them land opening spots for artists like Crown the Empire, Hollywood Undead, and Pop Evil. I Prevail thrilled fans with the announcement of their headlining Strike the Match Tour in 2016, where they brought venues like the Tabernacle to capacity all across the U.S. and Canada.
It was a phenomenal experience. The opening bands were amazing and it was truly unforgettable.
I Prevail is one of the more hard hitting bands on the scene today and if you haven't seen them in these small venues, do it NOW because they are going to blow up and start selling out arenas and parks. They are incredibly talented, write music that stands out, and put on a heck of a live show. The lead duo of Brian and Eric going back and forth between clean and scream vocals is epic and they really know how to get the crowd going, keep them engaged, and provide you a night that will leave you saying "wow, that's one of the best show I've seen". Highly recommended. Plus, they are some of the nicest guys you will ever come across if you get to meet them before or after the show!
I didn't really hear of Justin stone but he was good. Issues really does good live as well as studio. And I prevail of course they do a bad a** show all of the three times I've seen them.
I, Prevail was an amazing show! They are great live and put on an entertaining show! Issues was also great live!
The sound is always on point and these guys nearly blew the roof off the joint right out of the gate. Awesome show and if haven’t seen I Prevail, go see them ASAP.
i prevail is the best ever. they are so interactive with the crowd and just rock out. the band issues that was touring with them was also awesome and so was justin stone!! couldn’t recommend seeing them more.
Love this venue! The Paramount is on the smaller side unlike MSG or Barclay Center. But it gives it a more intimate feel cause you’re a lot closer to the artists. The sound in the theater is also great & it’s got a pretty chill vibe. I missed Justin Stone while i was buying some merch, but it seemed like people enjoyed it. I wish Issues was on longer cause i love their performance. Tyler really interacts with the crowd to get you pumped. Deff a good warmup for I Prevail. They also did well at covering vocals for their former bandmate. I didn’t know I Prevail until now so i didn’t stick around for the whole show, but the crowd was super pumped for them. The few songs i did listen too were pretty good & worth looking them up after the show. All artist had some pretty good merch; i picked up a $15 Issues vinyl, some shirts & accessories!! The plus side to everything, tickets were hella affordable!
Great energy, great tunes, super nice band members. Would love to see the same setlist again! & I would come here for more events.
Justin Stone and I Prevail killed it!!! Issues...not so much. They have issues. Would go see I Prevail again in a heartbeat!!!
I had such an amazing time! I wish the night would have never ended. All three bands were amazing great. I’ve never been at a venue where the air conditioning actually worked and you could actually feel it. Great bar tenders. I’d come back again.
Justin stone opened for I Prevail and his stage presence and his performance was absolutely amazing! He knew just how to get the crowd rowdy and pumped up! When I Prevail came on it was like no other! I have loved them since day 1 and finally getting to see them in concert made me love and appreciate their music even more! They also got the crowd pumped up and kept it going! Will definitely be back to see them both again!!!!
These guys will pump up the crowd and keep the energy going for the whole show. They love crowd interaction and are all over the stage during the performance. The sound was also spectacular. Would highly reccomend seeing them
I thought the show was awesome lineup could ha e been a bit better but i prevail was who i was there to see anyway and they killed it!!!!!
Took my ex and his cousin with me to this show and we had an amazing time. Met some awesome people, the bands were badass, and the venue was awesome. I was especially thankful of the amazing security and the medics since I’m early in my pregnancy and got 3 people dropped on me that were crowd surfing. They got me hell immediately and made sure I was safe. Can’t wait to go back for another show!
The show was GREAT! It was my first time seeing all of the acts. They all did PHENOMENAL.... the fans though.... some of them were nice and some not so much. There was a lot of pushing and shoving to get where they want. Like we were pretty close to the stage (because we got in line EARLY) but some group of girls used some man to push their way through the crowd and get RIGHT IN FRONT OF US! That low key ruined my night.... like if you wanted a good spot you should have gotten in line earlier like the rest of us. Other than that it was great, the staff were super nice and quick to respond when two people fainted.
I Prevail put on an amazing show! I've never been to one of their shows that they didn't.
I've been going to shows for years and wow did I Prevail knock it out of the part. They were amazing live
This was my boyfriend and I’s first time seeing I Prevail and also my first metal show. Hands down one of my favorite experiences! I bought the tickets as a surprise to my boyfriend because he missed the guys a few years ago and I don’t regret it! I think they need a much bigger venue next time but I’ll definitely be seeing more of them in years to come. I give the band 5 stars but the venue 3.
Far too hot in the building. Not sure why it wasn’t outside. It felt like the air conditioner was broken
Great concert and performances by issues and I prevail. The staff kind of sucked— very rude. Drinks are overpriced. Overall, great time though.
