About Huntsville Havoc
Huntsville Havoc at the Von Braun Center
The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) Huntsville Havoc are one of the most successful teams in the history of the league. They play their games at the Von Braun Center Arena in bustling downtown Huntsville, Alabama, adjacent to Big Spring Park and right off of the historic square. Downtown Huntsville is a haven for craft beer, coffee, dining and the arts, and a stroll through the square is a great way to start or end your Huntsville Havoc experience. Once inside the renovated Von Braun Center, championship hockey awaits you, with Coach Glenn Detulleo’s Havoc team led by players like top-scoring center Rob Darrar, captain Tyler Piacentini and promising right winger Isaac Johnson. Tickets for games are broken down into Bronze, Silver and Gold tiers, with the latter being just beyond the glass. Huntsville Havoc theme nights include a Star Wars Night, a Dog Race weekend, a St. Patrick’s Day celebration and two Alabama BBQ Nights. With well-attended games, the Havoc can boast the best average attendance in the SPHL, and that number has only gone up as the Havoc continue to raise the William B. Coffey trophy.
Huntsville Havoc Background
Entering the league in the 2004-05 season, the Huntsville Havoc are a fixture in the SPHL playoffs. The team won their first President’s Cup in 2010. And in 2018, the Havoc famously became the first fourth-seeded squad to ever win the title. They wasted no time following it up with another, when they swept the Birmingham Bulls in the finals for their second consecutive title in 2019.
The Havoc’s home rink is in the Von Braun Center, a multipurpose facility for sporting events and performing arts in downtown Huntsville. Along with the arena, the complex also features a playhouse, exhibit halls, and a concert venue that is home to the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra and once famously hosted a five-show run by Elvis Presley.
Enjoy watching hockey game. Wish the seats were much more comfortable. Way to cramped.
The atmosphere is incredible. So much energy going thru the stadium. Tons of fun.
Our first game was ruined by everyone else not watching the game. The family beside us got up to go to the bathroom and concession stand no less than 10 or 12 times. Everyone in or next to our section went up and down the stairs continously blocking our view of most of the game. Enjoyed watching what little we saw. Very fast paced.
Seats and people were great! Loved taking the time to walk around the arena and the game was amazing
Great game and atmosphere. Huntsville is a great place to enjoy the night life.
The Huntsville Havoc do the best job with non NHL hockey you will ever see- the product is more inline with NHL standards than its actual level. From lighting and sound, to events between periods it's top notch. I am told that even away players enjoy games at the VBC because it's NHL like environment. Not a better time in sports.
Never been to a hockey game before, I thought what the heck I'll give it a try. It was actually fun, the people were amazing and the stands and at the concessions. Music was pumped up, the announcer kept the energy level up. The lines at the concession bar and restaurant we're not too long, I will be going back again and am considering getting season passes for next season
Where to begin? There are so many frustrating things about the Huntsville Havoc and the arena they play in. First, if you have even a little fear of heights, do not bother with this place. The upper bowl won't work for you, and the lower bowl is all tied up with season ticket holders, meaning good luck getting them. The other problem is the lower bowl is about seven rows, meaning there are hardly any lower-level bowl seats to begin with. The seats in the area are also narrow, even for a person of an average build. We inquired about handicap tickets since my wife has a legitimate need for them but the price was $50 each. For an SPHL game? Get lost. I don't understand why Huntsville loves an SPHL team like they're an NHL team but then again, there's nothing else to do in the city.
The game was so much fun, seats were great, atmosphere was fun!! Overall a great night out with family :)
The Huntsville Havoc are a fun team to watch and root for. Will definitely be back, again.
This is the first Huntsville Havoc game I have attended since moving to Huntsville in February. My husband and I enjoyed watching the game and having a night out together. The team won so that was a bonus. We will definitely be going back to another game.
Havoc won! Really enjoyed the game! Will be coming back to watch more
Took my grandkids to watch their first hockey game.. they loved it and couldn’t stop talking it.
Loved being on the Ice. Been to several Havoc games and it was a nice "once in a lifetime event"to watch the game from the ice. Can't wait to go back and support my Huntsville Havoc team.
Fast paced, solid hockey. Nothing but a fun and energenic atmosphere. Dedicated fans and not a bad seat in the arena. We will be attending many more games.
My family and I have attended many havoc games this year. This one was out of this world. We are never disappointed with the level of play these men put out. A sudden death overtime victory though, omg.
The action of the game was awesome but the fun and games in between kept us laughing. Great experience!!
Even thou we lost, it was a good game! Support them 100%.
An easy apps to order ticket and easy way to had an online ticket
The hockey game was a lot of fun but the seating sucks. The seat rows are too close together and the seats are small. Arena needs a complete renovation and the owners should sacrifice a little bit of seating for more comfort or enlarge the seating area.
