About

HUEY LEWIS AND THE NEWS IN CONCERT:

Following their successful 2013 Sports Anniversary Tour, '80s pop rock icons Huey Lewis and the News thrilled fans with the announcement of additional dates in 2014. Renowned for their stellar musicianship and the charisma of frontman Huey Lewis, the band has become a live favorite for their rollicking sets of upbeat '80s classics.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

“Huey Lewis and the News is still the heart of Rock and Roll. Huey still manages to have the crowd on their feet and sounds absolutely the same as he always does.”

“Huey Lewis still has the energy and passion that he had in the 1980s…No frills, just the music. Huey engages the crowd nicely. It was a magnificent show!”

“They rocked a packed house for a good long time…A great mixture of vocals, guitar, horns, and harmonica. They played all of the favorites, along with some new ones, and kept the crowd on their feet the whole show.”

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

After their songs “The Power of Love” and “Back in Time” were both featured prominently in the 1985 sci-fi classic Back to the Future, Huey Lewis and the News were all but assured a place as one of the most defining acts of the decade. They delivered on that promise, topping the album charts with Sports in 1983 and Fore! in 1986 and racking up some of the era's seminal hits with “I Want a New Drug,” “Hip to Be Square,” and “Stuck With You."

    Huey Rocked the Valley!

by LVFan on 7/15/09Penn's Peak - Jim Thorpe

First time Huey played at Penn's Peak and so glad I didn't miss it. The concert was fantastic and Huey did not disappoint the crowd. Great energy to keep the crowd dancing on their feet. Most of the songs were ones that had the most radio play but they were crowd pleasers all the same. Loved the a cappella set! Huge fan and would definitely go to see him again especially when he's so close to home. Penn's Peak has a pleasant ambience and almost any seat is a great seat - very relaxed atmosphere and breathtaking view from balcony!

Huey and the guys were fabulous as always!

by Oldsguy on 7/15/09Penn's Peak - Jim Thorpe

My wife and I have seen Huey live 23 times. His voice isn't quite the same as 20 years ago, but he has not lost his showmanship or his charisma. The show is fun, clean and a great time for the whole family. Penn's Peak was awsome. One of the most enjoyable venues we have ever been to. We love HUEY and will see him as long as he is performing. Hope he comes back to Penn's Peak real soon. The NEWS are the Heart of Rock and Roll!!

90 minutes of nothing but Huey Lewis and the News was my wife's dream come true. It was great to be able to rush the stage and get that close. Glad to hear he is doing new song, even though the old songs are the BEST!!!!!

Huey still is the Heart of Rock and Roll!!!

by tbomania on 7/15/09Atlantic City Hilton - Atlantic City

Having Seen Huey Lewis and The News before, its still amazing how tight the band is after all the years. Captivating the audience with those great classics from the early 80's with a peppering of some of their new offerings. They deliver that same rock feeling that touches young and old alike. Can't wait to see them again!!

huey lewis and the news = incredible

by austrianoak22 on 7/15/09Penn's Peak - Jim Thorpe

This was a great show. Huey is at the top of his game. His songs are so perfect for a concert because they all have a great beat and after a while everybody in the hall was up dancing and singing along. It was just a big party and he was great.

by booperfarmington on 7/15/09The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - Windsor

I have seen Huey Lews and the News several times in different venues and this was probably the best show I have seen of theirs. Did a lot of their hits and a couple of new songs.

    Huey Still Has it!

by SkinnyCC on 7/15/09The Avalon Ballroom Theatre At Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort - Niagara Falls

Huey and the band were great! They did a lot of oldies, some new stuff and some acapella. Sounded as good or better than they did back in the day! Great show all around!

    The music never gets old

by mrqetwrior on 7/15/09The MGM Grand at Foxwoods - Mashantucket

Huey Lewis is an incredible singer and performer and it just appears to come so naturally for him. They did all their best songs with the exception of Happy to be Stuck with you. The band was tight and it is great to catch a glimpse of real San Francisco rock and roll.

Huey Lewis And The News - Good Time Classic Rock

by pmd0619 on 7/14/09The MGM Grand at Foxwoods - Mashantucket

Huey Lewis And The News still know how to have a great time on stage - and know how to get a crowd going. Huey's voice sounds the same and the band plays just as good as they did in their heyday! Fun music... albeit, I now have to accept the fact that they have fallen into classic status. But listening to all those songs and seeing the band on stage brought back all of the great 80's memories! I loved the fact that the venue allowed people to stand and dance because about 1/2 way into the concert, no one could resist.

    Huey was simply AWESOME

by Steelie on 7/14/09The Avalon Ballroom Theatre At Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort - Niagara Falls

My wife and I have seen him everywhere and the Fallsview was our second time watching Huey Lewis and the News. We now have a 2nd generation that loves him! Our seats were amazing- in fact there's truly not a bad seat in the house. Your up close to all the action, the sound if perfect and the light show is great. He played continuosely for a long time with a break in the middle. It's heart pounding with hit after hit!

Huey was right on as usual the guitar player ruled

by Bobkat on 7/14/09The MGM Grand at Foxwoods - Mashantucket

Being a local musician I have to say the band was great and the show was great. The room sounds amazing. But what was Huey thinking by coming to Connecticut and not playing the HEART OF ROCK AND ROLL, for an encore! I've seen the band several times over the years. In Lake Placid 20 years ago with Tower of Power horns. Also in Waterbury at the Oakdale theater and now at MGM. Each time about ten years apart. All the shows were excellant. Sports of course was the big album. I was glad to see him play a variety at this latest show. But no HEART OF ROCK AND ROLL? To me that is the biggest club and dance song. I mean the beat is solid and it is probably Huey's most popular tune. I like the Acapello performance, shows a band can really sing.

    Amazing but.....TOO SHORT!

by HLFAN on 7/14/09The Avalon Ballroom Theatre At Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort - Niagara Falls

The show was excellent. They are tremendous performers and its evident that they enjoy being on stage. The only downside was is was far too short. Considering we paid nearly $100 per ticket, I think they could have put on a longer show - they certainly have enough material to cover.

    disappointed in the crowd

by 1980sguy on 7/14/09The Avalon Ballroom Theatre At Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort - Niagara Falls

Huey Lewis and the News were very good. I wshed the crowd was more 80's in their dress and Heuy too. The "remember part" of the concert could have been supported by band "period" picutres on a big screen. Perhaps supported by one or two of his videos. I came to remember being a kid.. and left feeling like I just saw a Jazz band. No disrespect intended ! We had fun. Thomas
