    Howie Day is completely amazing

by JBelle17 on 11/21/11Duck Room at Blueberry Hill - St Louis

I was lucky enough to see Howie twice on this tour. WOW! I mean WOW! I am just blown away by his talent to begin with. His music and lyrics are so real and capture emotions that I didn't know I had. His performance and the venue were fabulous. It was like you were sitting hanging with a friend, except your friend is the most amazingly talent musician in the world. I cannot speak to the technical side of his music, I just know how it makes me feel. Thank you Howie, you are truly inspiring.

    Amazing talent

by Gbd0203 on 11/20/11Duck Room at Blueberry Hill - St Louis

This is the second time I have seen Howie Day. The first was about 4 years ago. He is a great composer and performs by himself by laying down loops and building songs to a creshendo. Both times I have seen him he has amazed me with his talent.

    Howie's Day

by JohnnyRL on 11/7/11Fine Line Music Cafe - Minneapolis

Howie Day has to be the most under-rated and under-appreciated artist out there today. I was really surprised that his show wasn't sold out. Poor marketing? At any rate, a lot of people missed out on a great performance. It was just Howie, his guitar and a stage full of mixing/looping equipment. He looped drum beats by banging on his guitar, harmonized with himself, etc. He expertly used the epuipment like a musical instrument. Bottom line - this was a great perfomance.

My husband and I have been to see Howie Day 3 times now and this was another amazing performance! He is so talented with the looping station and has an amazing voice! Can't wait until he comes back to the area to see him again!

Howie Day was as great as ever.

by Gp12560 on 11/6/11Fine Line Music Cafe - Minneapolis

Howie was great! Have seen him before and loved this just as much as the past. Nice sampling of older and newer material. Opening act sounded good as a singer but Gould have had a better dialogue with the audience.

    Cool performer

by Lincolnpark34 on 9/12/11Pinehills Concert on the Green - Plymouth

We saw Howie as an opening act to Edwin McCain and we really, really liked him. He did amazing things with sampling and overdubbing himself, so at times he sounded like a four-piece band. He got a little distracted by the technology at times, but overall I thought he did some great stuff. His songs are moving and his voice was very smooth. Great show, I'd go see Howie again.

Howie Day: good. Timing & venue NOT SO MUCH...

by tonkatodd on 7/11/11Showcase Live - Foxboro

Howie Day is an awesome performer. His show was great. Showcase Live, the venue, however, needs to work on their customer experience. Howie didn't hit the stage until after 9:30pm. That's after the opener started right at 8pm sharp and played a short set. Since Howie played solo, there wasn't much of a stage change. When I asked a staff member why it was starting so late he blamed Howie and I told him no, these days that's all in the contract. He replied with, well, the venue wants to make money so they keep people waiting longer so they eat/drink more. How nice. Speaking of, yes they have a decent menu for a place like that but the prices are outrageous. I had an appetizer, which was comped for free because of a FourSquare checkin, one drink, one entree, one dessert: about $40 before tip!!! Anyway...I like the size/space for a performer such as Howie Day but Showcase Live over charges for food and makes you wait too long. And the drink prices are outrageous, and the drinks are weak.

Definitely worth a 6 hour drive!

    by Krisslynn23 on 7/11/11Showcase Live - Foxboro

The venue was great, opening act was a little questionable. Once Howie came on stage it was amazing the set list had most of the old favorites from the first two albums as well as some of the newer songs including a track or two from the ceasefire ep. An amazing show.

Totally lived up to my expectations

    by sare510 on 7/10/11Showcase Live - Foxboro

I'd always heard that to be a Howie Day fan - you really had to see him live. His show was awesome. I couldn't have requested a better setlist - something from all his albums, older and more recent. And the venue made it feel very intimate, as well. I will be sure to see him again the next time he's in town.

    Go See Howie Day!

    by CindyLG8 on 7/10/11Showcase Live - Foxboro

I was the only Howie Day fan I knew when I bought four tickets to this concert. But I dragged my husband and two teenagers and they were total fans by the end of the show. Howie is a consummate professional; one minute he is speaking to the audience with his dry sense of humor, very low key, then the next he is stepping into the deep emotional well of a song, bringing the audience seamlessly with him. In addition to having a mesmerizing voice, deeply affecting songs and extreme guitar talent, Howie has a techie side which adds richness to his sound (no band on stage, just man and guitar) and an amusing element to the show. At first you don't realize what's going on, but he starts a song and slyly steps on a foot pedal, recording himself singing a phrase, then plays it back and harmonizes with himself while recording that, which he plays back and harmonizes with etc. This adds layers and layers of beautiful music to several of his songs. To the delight of the audience, a few times when these are playing back mid-song, he will scratch his nose, mop his face and take a drink of water, showing off. It's pretty cool and there's that dry sense of humor again to lighten the mood. There are four songs you have heard on the radio in his set list. "Perfect Time of Day," "She Says," Collide" and "Be There." My family was amazed that all of these are getting consistent radio airplay yet Showcase Live at Foxboro, a small venue, was not even close to being filled. It made it a great show for us, as we had the feeling he was just really grateful for the audience and happy to be performing, as opposed to doing us a favor. I am an even bigger fan now after seeing him live and hope his audience widens as he truly deserves it to!

    Crap

by Frrat on 2/21/11Showcase Live - Foxboro

This show was postponed for the second time. Is the issue with the venue or with the performer?
