Howard Bison football is a great event. We attended the homecoming game versus Morgan State, and we were treated to music and dancing by both schools' bands. The home team prevailed in a close athletic contest, and the sell-out crowd loved every minute of it. We bought reserved seats, which turned out to be in the visitor's side, and we were guided right to where we belonged, across the aisle from the more-crowded general admission benches. Note that at the end of the first half all of the seats become open (this is announced by ushers toward the end of the second quarter), so hold onto yours. I will complain about a lack of sanitary facilities (port-o-johns under the replay scoreboard) but it's a small issue in my mind. Concessions were terrific and worth waiting in line for. I recommend that you take the DC Metro to the Shaw/Howard stop and walk up to campus, as parking is a challenge, but it's like that anywhere in the District. Highly recommended for college football fans!
The football game & atmosphere were great. The fish fry was delicious. Parking was terrible so I'd recommend using Uber or a taxi.
I will never pay again to attend a Bison football game. Very displeased and disappointed in the organization.HU is truly not what it used to be! I was also upset that the police department and campus police allowed con artists/street gamblers to pester/harass students and those attending the campus events.
First of all the game was probably one of the worst I have ever attended. If I didn't know, I would have thought NC A&T was the home team and they ruled the halftime performance. Next, I purchased 2 tickets at a higher rate because they were reserved seat and I thought I had seats that I paid for. I was totally wrong because there is no such thing as reserve seating at Greene Stadium. The next issue was with the rest rooms. I have never gone to a football game at the College level that had port-a-potties until the game I attended at Howard. I attend High School football games and they have restrooms plus I served in Iraq for 1 year on two occasions and I had a rest instead of a port-a-potty. In closing, the event had to one of most unorganized ones I have ever attended and I doubt I will attend another at the location..
I had so much fun even though it was raining. It was good to be back on campus and enjoying myself after graduating in 1988.
Excellent time at the game. Will definitely attend next year.
Wet and rainy but always a great atmosphere when I get to go to a game at Howard University!
HU and NIU played a great game. On the edge of your seat, type of game. I will go to the Howard University's homecoming next year.
Purchased tickets in advance. There was no "will call" at the event to pick up tickets. Everyone was allowed in the game FREE! Total waste of my $51.00 and some change. This is certainly not the way to sponsor an event. Very disappointed!!!
Took my 12th grade son to his first HBCU visit and homecoming. The game (along with the step show and Yardfest the day before and the parade on game day) was a great experience, but seating was a problem. We went very very early because I had read that the seats are oversold, and they were. People with tickets couldn't get a seat on the Howard University side and were not happy, lots of people had to stand, however we didn't. Overall it was a good experience, but my son did point out that the crowd didn't really seem into the game at all, until halftime.
The best Homecoming as always! Must attend every year!!!
Several hundred people were without a seat at the game. Most spots security was bugging us to move. Finally after halftime, which was spectacular, of course, we were able to sit down because people started leaving.
oversold tickets! no seats available! we left early
Good spirit and competition from years past to now, and it was good to re-live the hype.
The game was excellent! The energy in the stadium was great.
This was probably one of the most exciting football games between two rivals I've seen in a while. The Aggie crowd was pumped up on the visitors side and I really a great time. I look forward to next years game and the championships games before that.
The seating could have been better handled by the staff. Entrance could have been better handled by the staff.
I had a great time cheering for my alumni, NCCU Eagles.
It was a good game! Of course Howard won! And Laz Alzono was there...nuff said
