Electronic music pioneer Howard Jones has been a constant presence on the international touring scene for the past four decades, playing live in a number of different configurations including intimate solo shows and dates with his full high-tech band set-up. He first burst upon the contemporary music scene in 1983, with his very English songwriting and pioneering synthesizers with "New Song". His first two albums HUMAN'S LIB and DREAM INTO ACTION were worldwide hits. HUMAN'S LIB reached #1 in 1984 in the UK and featured the hits "New Song," and "What Is Love?" In 1985, Jones released the follow-up, DREAM INTO ACTION, which quickly became a Top Ten Platinum album in the United States and featured the smashes: "Things Can Only Get Better," "Life In One Day," "No One Is To Blame," and "Like To Get To Know You Well."
Howard Jones has sold upwards of 10 million albums worldwide and continues to make new music and tour the world. Jones has performed on NBC's top-rated morning and nighttime shows respectively, Today and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. His ubiquitous hits can be heard in such high-profile television series and films such as "Stranger Things," "Breaking Bad," "Watchmen," "The Carrie Diaries", "Superstore" and "Bumblebee". Howard Jones' most recent album is DIALOGUE, which was released in September, 2022. DIALOGUE is the third album in a trilogy of electronic releases from Jones with multi-media project ENGAGE coming out in 2015 and studio album TRANSFORM out in 2019. DIALOGUE garnered serious coverage in outlets such as Spin, Stereogum and more.
So happy hojo is back touring !!!! He was absolutely amazing !!
Midge Ure called in sick so Howard took matters into his own hands. 3 sets, opened acoustic in honor of Midge. Ripped it up with a guitar and a Chapman Stick. He announced that set 2 would be full of friendlies and that by set 3 all bets were off. Count Basie Rocked, know body sat. Howard is an absolute Pro and a Storyteller extraordinaire. Love ya Howard!
Howard Jones rocked the Wilbur theater! He's just as good as he ever was in the 80's when I saw him. He didn't miss a beat. He sang a great variety of old and new. He was having fun just like we were. I wish he'd come around more often. I traveled from Northern NH to see him perform in Boston and it was worth every gas dollar. Loved his outfit. I did feel bad for his opening act who had covid but we were lucky enough to see more of Howard. Keep rocking it Howard!!! xoxox
The venue, The Wilbur Theatre, is a beautiful classic old theatre. Every seat would have been great. The acoustics are amazing, full and clear sound. The performance was spectacular and the biggest surprise was the bass player, Nick Beggs, who is fantastic and originally from another 80's band, Kajagoogoo. Overall, the songs played, favourites and new, were tight and sounded just as they did way back when! I highly recommend seeing Howard Jones any chance that you can. This was my 3rd concert in the last 12 years. Loved it!
Howard Jones puts on an amazing show. The opening act pulled out the last minute so Howard decided to be his own opening act. This concert was amazing from start to finish and I got the chance to meet him. It was definitely a night I’ll never forget.
Great concert in an intimate venue. Loved how Howard was kind enough to be his own opener when the opener couldn't play because of illness. Can't wait until the next time I can see him.
The opening band did not show, so Howard Jones and the Band came out promptly at 8:00 for them. They had an acoustic presentation at 8:00 that turned into a musical BLAST. The base player was amazing!!! I love Howard Jone’s voice, but especially his heart.
Terrific show! Blown away, awesome musicians! The Wilbur is a great place for a show, it made for a very intimate evening. He is so talented and positive! Please bring him back again!
HoJo always brings his talent to the stage great set with bonus acoustic opener..thank you for your great performance
As a casual 80's fan, I really got into this show. Howard is still a great performer, and I really appreciated the back-stories he told between songs. The electronic music was a great youth flashback, but the 3-piece, toned-down set was a real treat.
The performance was amazing. Howard Jones was incredibly true and sincere from beginning to end. This show is a must see. Only downside was the venue not having enough people to help you find your seats or help you get someone out of your seat if they took it. Another guest was a saint and gave us their seats because they recently had hip replacement surgery so they were sitting in the handicap seats. What an amazing person!
Howard Jones never disappoints! Amazing show and House of Blues is a great venue!
We had a great time- Midge Ure was amazing and so was Howard Jones. I honestly was not expecting much from Howard Jones but we were totally entertained and surprised by how much we enjoyed his show. Tip- when getting tickets for Humphrey's by the bay and you are over 6 feet and 200 lbs get an extra set, otherwise you are packed in like sardines.
The sound was fantastic, the show was great, the view of the boats, awesomeness
Howard put on a really great show. Also Midge Ure the opening band was great as well.
No traffic no hassle great small romantic bay for concert events
The show was all right, for a guy with zero personality. I went to see Midge Ure, who was the opener. Honestly, it should have been HoJo opening for Midge. DO NOT BUY THE MEET AND GREET! You get pushed through like so many cattle. HoJo looked miserable, but a cash grab is a cash grab. His manager took one photo, and made you leave. The exclusive merch package is just a small set of three metal pins. BOGUS.
It was very moving when they sang Do They Know It's Christmas. Only downside is people who somehow talk to each other nonstop throughout the show. I should have just watched from my boat.
Howard Jones always delivers! He’s a gracious artist. I’ve been to a show each decade of his career. His performance at Humphrey’s on June 23 was so much fun and sounded great. Midge Ure’s opening performance got the audience revved up and his voice is amazing. (I had never seen Midge before.) The event will always be a special memory for me.
Anyone who loved Howard Jones back in the 80’s, will still love him now! He sings all his hits and he had the crowd dancing and singing along all night! He still sounds great too, don’t miss it!
