About

Electronic music pioneer Howard Jones has been a constant presence on the international touring scene for the past four decades, playing live in a number of different configurations including intimate solo shows and dates with his full high-tech band set-up. He first burst upon the contemporary music scene in 1983, with his very English songwriting and pioneering synthesizers with "New Song". His first two albums HUMAN'S LIB and DREAM INTO ACTION were worldwide hits. HUMAN'S LIB reached #1 in 1984 in the UK and featured the hits "New Song," and "What Is Love?" In 1985, Jones released the follow-up, DREAM INTO ACTION, which quickly became a Top Ten Platinum album in the United States and featured the smashes: "Things Can Only Get Better," "Life In One Day," "No One Is To Blame," and "Like To Get To Know You Well."

Howard Jones has sold upwards of 10 million albums worldwide and continues to make new music and tour the world. Jones has performed on NBC's top-rated morning and nighttime shows respectively, Today and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. His ubiquitous hits can be heard in such high-profile television series and films such as "Stranger Things," "Breaking Bad," "Watchmen," "The Carrie Diaries", "Superstore" and "Bumblebee". Howard Jones' most recent album is DIALOGUE, which was released in September, 2022. DIALOGUE is the third album in a trilogy of electronic releases from Jones with multi-media project ENGAGE coming out in 2015 and studio album TRANSFORM out in 2019. DIALOGUE garnered serious coverage in outlets such as Spin, Stereogum and more.

    Always Great!!!

by SeanH on 7/26/22Buckhead Theatre - Atlanta

HoJo always puts on a great show! Played alot of our old favorites as expected and some new favorites to be... Cant wait till he is back next time! Midge Ure (ex-Ultravox) was his support band and was also fantastic! Still trying to work out why Midge Ure is a support artist, he should be a headliner!! Missed going to live events due to C-19, and was hesitant to go back, folk here behaved responsibly and never felt worried..

    Great, better than expected.

by Lucky John on 7/25/22Buckhead Theatre - Atlanta

Went for the nostalgia value and a bit to see if he still had it. He does, and then some. Voice not far off his prime, seemed to really have fun, great band, and his new electronica stuff rocks!

howard jones was good - midge ure was better

by bearkiss on 7/25/22Buckhead Theatre - Atlanta

show was good - they had the artist in the wrong order - midge ure should have been the headliner with howard jones opening up... howard turned WAY TOO MANY of his hits into "sing alongs" with the audience... completely un-necessary

Great Gig sad not to see more people

by Borderer on 7/25/22District Live - Savannah

Being from the U.K. Howard and Midge are to artists I’ve grown up with and enjoyed and was looking forward to the gig. Neither let me down and took me back to my early years and bought back many memories Thanks for putting on such a great show I’m only sorry that it wasn’t supported by more people. Thanks to you both and your band for coming to Savannah.

    Awesome concert and venue!

by LM on 7/24/22District Live - Savannah

We had an awesome experience at this concert. It was like attending a private event. The acoustics were great and the performers were excellent! There wasn’t a bad spot in the entire venue to watch them!

    WOW

by Trish la la on 7/24/22The Wilbur - Boston

We so much enjoyed this show! Our third time seeing HJ and all was incredible. We had VIP meet and greet that I wasn't even aware of until the day before. What a nice guy! Opening act was sick so HJ (not to disapoint!) stepped in. An added surprise- bassist/founder Nick Beggs of Kajagoogoo was playing bass and HJ sang Too Shy! Venue was intimate and staff friendly. Only negative was HJ's closing political comments about USSC decision on Rowe-stick to the music!

Amazing Show at the classic 9:30

by Jim on 7/24/229:30 CLUB - Washington

For an artist who first hit the scene in 1982, Howard has fantastic energy, has kept his sound vibrant and upbeat, and still loves performing live. If you have the opportunity, catch his show and be ready to dance.

Midge Ure & Howard Jones Were Spectacular!

by Eric Highsmith on 7/22/229:30 CLUB - Washington

I'm an '80s kid and I was looking forward to this concert, and it exceeded my expectations. Let's start with Mr. Ure. He sounds every bit as good as he did 30-40 years ago. His voice has been untouched by time and a pleasure to listen to. He sang everything I had hoped for except "If I Was", and perhaps it was silly of me to hope for "Do They Know It's Christmas?" in the middle of a sweltering July. I had "studied" for this concert and had heard everything that Jones and Ure had been performing. I was surprised how much of Mr. Jones' '80s catalog was familiar and I liked his latest songs off of the "Transform" album. When I saw on the opening song that he had a keytar, I was hooked at the start. The new songs sounded great live, in fact they were irresistible. But perhaps the thing that impressed me the most was how gracious and grateful he was toward the audience. He genuinely seemed to be enjoying our interaction with him and he was very playful. As an added bonus, his bass/Chapman Stick player was Nick Beggs, a founding member of Kajagooogoo, and so we were treated to a rendition of "Too Shy." Finally, I love the 9:30 Club as a venue. I would estimate the club was 75% full, so it was comfortable to be on the floor. There was no pushing and shoving as I've experienced at sold out concerts. I started the night with three people in front of me and ended with just two. It was phenomenal.

    Fantastic Performance!

by Raj on 7/22/229:30 CLUB - Washington

Midge Ure started the concert well. I was a fan of Ultravox in my teen years and his voice is still great. Howard Jones was fantastic and the audience sang along with him. Howard has a wonderful sense of humor and shared some jokes with the audience in between songs. His songs certainly stand the test of time and he sounded great. Altogether a brilliant evening.

    Feel-good event of the year

by Bas D on 7/20/22Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre at the Count Basie Center - Red Bank

The Count Basie theater is a beautifully restored small theater in Red Bank, and the perfect setting for an evening with Howard Jones. Unfortunately Midge Ure was too sick to perform that evening but Jones played an acoustic set with his bassist and guitarist instead which was very nice. Howard Jones has the ability to make you feel like he's playing for a small group of friends, with plenty of anecdotes and great stories and if course all the hits he is known for. His voice and energy haven't lost anything over the decades, it truly was a great experience.

Attended The Dialogue Tour in NJ and I have to say, he is still o e of the best artists around! His new music is upbeat and of course, his 80’s hits rocked the house!

Howard has been a favorite of mine since I first heard him in the early 80’s. His music is timeless and his talents are amazing. His music arrangements, lyrics, singing, and stage presence are what makes him a musical genus!!

    HoJo's positivity is infectious

by Jim9397 on 7/19/22Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre at the Count Basie Center - Red Bank

What an amazing show! Midge Ure was supposed to open for Howard, but was unable to perform due to illness. Howard and his mates, like the consummate professional that they are, did an amazing acoustic set --- and then after a few minutes of a break, came back out for a full set using the synths, etc. Such a fun and uplifting night. Howard is incredibly engaged with the audience - telling stories, etc. Awesome show!!! :-)
