    The Show was great!

I wasn't excited about seeing Jimmy Eat World or Cage the Elephant. I was very pleasantly surprised by both bands!!

This was my first "real" concert, and I was so excited going in, but I left disappointed. Civil Twilight was good, but their set was incredibly short -- I think they only managed 4 songs, if that. And the local band played early, so we completely missed them. Then there was Cage the Elephant, and it was horrible -- I know which band I'll be boycotting this year. Their "new songs" were barely musical at all, and were mostly drunken screams. It completely killed the vibe and was boring (and hard on the ears!). Jimmy Eat World was the best part of the show; I wish they had stayed on longer. I especially loved that they did a little Christmas tribute. It was very sweet. I don't know what was going on with the Smashing Pumpkins. It just seemed like they hated the audience (understandably; there wasn't much crowd reaction). They added so much feedback to their songs that it was difficult to actually identify the music, though the light display was pretty awesome. It was better after the encore, for some reason. It just did not seem like a very cohesive event overall.

    The Pumpkins Are Awesome!

by sirmon on 12/6/10Verizon Theatre At Grand Prairie - Grand Prairie

This was a great show. I was glad I got to see them play some of their oldies before they retire them forever. SP are a great band to see live. Plus the venue is one of my personal favorites. Always clean and easy to get into and out of.

The good. The Pumkins rocked. Every band keeped you focused. Great seats. Good arangement for these 4 bands. Cage the Elephant was a surprise. They performed much better than I expected. The bad. The opening band sucked. Why does every dallas band have to scream. Like Pantera?( may Darrell rest in peace, enjoying his crown.) $7 + beer that was flat and not cold.

    What Happened to the Sound?

by EdgeMusicFan on 12/6/10Verizon Theatre At Grand Prairie - Grand Prairie

Love the Edge Events but extremely disappointed in the sound for the opening acts.... what happened? Came to see a rock show, in what is one of the finest sound quality venues in town, and someone forgot to turn the volume up on all of the opening acts? I've been to almost all of the Edge Events and never once has this been an issue... really disappointed.
