About the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is the largest rodeo and livestock exhibition in the world. Also called RodeoHouston or abbreviated to HLSR, it is home to one of the richest regular season professional rodeo events. Since 2003, it has been held at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas. It was previously held in the Houston Astrodome.
It is considered to be Houston's signature event. New Orleans has Mardi Gras. Dallas has the Texas State Fair. And Houston has the biggest Livestock Show and Rodeo. The event is 20 days long, starting with the Downtown Rodeo Roundup held near Houston City Hall and the Downtown Rodeo parade. Also held is the ConocoPhillips Rodeo Run, a 10k and 5k walk and run, and the World's Championship BBQ Contest. The show features championship rodeo action, livestock competitions, concerts, a carnival, pig racing, barbecue, a wine competition, shopping, sales and livestock auctions.
The rodeo has drawn some of the biggest recording artists including Cardi B, Beyoncé, Selena Gomez, Selena, Fifth Harmony, Demi Lovato, Ariana Grande, Selena, Kiss, Dixie Chicks, Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan, Justin Bieber, Big Time Rush, Brooks & Dunn, George Strait, Janet Jackson, Garth Brooks, Willie Nelson, Kenny Chesney, Bon Jovi, ZZ Top, John Legend, Taylor Swift and Lynyrd Skynyrd, among others. The 2019 lineup includes Camila Cabelo, Luke Combs, Tim McGraw, Zedd, Kane Brown, Los Tigres del Norte, Zac Brown Band, Kings of Leon, Santana, Chris Stapleton, Cody Johnson Band, Brad Paisley, George Strait, and more.

ZBB put on a great show. Unfortunately the accoustics and/or sound system were terrible!
Excellent and a great experience. Would go again and sit in this general location.
The Rodeo never disappoints and Zac Brown was fantastic.
The Rodeo was GREAT!! The Band Perry was lack luster at the best. Sound was bad and show was a let down after seeing several other performances. The Finals of the Rodeo should end with a NAME ENtertainer!!!! Go Figure!!!!
Overall, the event was great. I would not recommend sitting in Section 749 because it is too far and you have to rely on the screens to see the rodeo and concert, but it's nice if you're not too interested in the rodeo or concert because you get a free meal, snacks, desserts, and soft drinks.
The band was just as good performing as they sound on the radio! Zac Brown Band is truly one of a kind. I could not stop singing along. We bought Standing Room Only but we're able to sit near front row because some ticket holders never showed up and the usher took us down to the seats! I would see this band over and over again!
These two guys were so enthusiastic. They really worked the crowd. But after 30 minutes of songs that all sounded the same plus a whole lot of talking...we left. I know they are RodeoHouston "newbies" and only have one album but was expecting a much better set.
Excellent concert, seats too far to see except big screen (which was fine). However the very loud and rude people behind us were awful and were moved twice as they were not in their ticketed seats.
All competors in all events were the champions at the top rodeos in the country which made for some unbelievable rides and high scores. The Zac Brown Band was sensational.
Zac Brown was amazing!!! Put on a GREAT show. They sound absolutely phenomenal! Harmonies are great and mixed it up just right! They had everyone up on their feet, guys went up first (LOL), little boys were singing along to Chicken Fried. Had the best time, saw 10 performances this year and this was definitely tied for the best...my other favorite performance was Luke Bryan. I'll definitely see ZB again!
Thanks for picking me for Eat and Greet it was my second one since I joined the Zamily in 2009. The Zac Brown Band are just down home good people Who make quite an impression on this old world! I love you guys! Keep on making people happy! Hope the Band comes back every year to the Houston Rodeo
Seems like Zac and the crew get better with every performance. An awesome live version of the Marshall Tucker Band's "Can't you See" Can't wait to see them again.
I had an amazing time from the first song to the last song! I literally sang, danced, clapped my hands, and stomped my feet throughout the entire performance! There was never a dull moment from stage performance to audience interactment! I loved the energy and upbeat music the Zac Brown Band brought to Rodeo Houston 2014... way to end our Rodeo season! I am totally looking forward to seeing them again next year so please bring them back!
My husband and I attended with our daughter and were surprised that we enjoyed the show almost as much as she did! The music is a great blend of country and pop and was very enjoyable. The band was very entertaining. They really tried to form a relationship with the audience and get everyone involved.
audio mix was off. not the right kind of venue for them. sound was awful ...half the crowd walked out early.
It's a great event, plenty to see and do. I wish the tickets had stated when the concert started vs the rodeo. I thought it was the concert start time and ended up on site a lot longer than I had planned for.
Zac Brwn is simply the best........A Must see! Third year in a row watching them at Houston's rodeo. Amazing!
The energy and dedication to performing what the crowd wanted to hear was fantastic. I have always liked this group, but after seeing the concert, I now love this group.
Zac Brown's concert was so good. He was very personable, played the songs we all know and love and was very interactive with the audience! Great, great concert!
