KBLX Hot Summer Nights Bringing the 90s back!

by Anonymous on 9/11/14Concord Pavilion (Formerly Sleep Train Pavilion) - Concord

This concert was fun and the line up (Drew Hill, BlackStreet, Next, 112, Jagged Edge) was 90s R&B heaven (hello high school)! The good: Drew Hill, Blackstreet and 112 sounded really good and even had the dance moves of yester-year down. Definetly had the crowd turned up! The bad: Someone puh-lease tell the DJ (Pam the Funkstress?) that she needs to do some reseach on catering to her audience. The crowd was not trying to hear old-school soul from the 70s in between acts. I'm not that old! The ugly: WHY was the line to get in to the venue so rediculous!? And it was 1000 degrees! Everyone was miserable an slightly late for the concert after spending close to half an hour just trying to get through the gate. Please do a better job of getting that together in the future. I have never had that problem at the Concord Pavillion and have been to many shows there.

Parking and entry to venue was unorganized.

by EWills on 9/8/14Concord Pavilion (Formerly Sleep Train Pavilion) - Concord

It took about an hour and 15 minutes to get into the parking lot and then they ran out of parking spaces. Available spaces had to be created while we waited. When we were walking toward the gate entrance we were redirected to a gate that had more entrances available. Once we got there, we saw a crowd of people moving towards the entrance. There were no organized lines and no one directing people. Everyone just stood around and moved along as the crowd moved. By the time we got inside to our seats, we missed 2 acts! It was hot and we were very disappointed that parking and entry made us late.

I attend many concerts and this was by far one of the better ones. We enjoyed the groups as well as the DJ's. We really enjoyed that there were no intermissions. I hope they continue to have this concert going forward.

    Great time

by carlsbud on 9/3/14Concord Pavilion (Formerly Sleep Train Pavilion) - Concord

Concert was great! Hopefully gate check can be improved ,so lines will move faster. It took a while to get in. I was told later by one of patrons , people starting walking past security check because lines were moving so slow.I believe that was first sold out concert I had attended there.

All the performers were great. Loved every one of them!!! Sound system could've been better, but overall it was a great concert. It would be nice to have groups like these again for the next KBLX Hot Summer Nights.

    Too much fun..Great concert!!

by Jlow004 on 9/3/14Concord Pavilion (Formerly Sleep Train Pavilion) - Concord

The concert was fantastic! My friends and I had a blast and we will definitely go again. It was an extremely hot day and the line to get into the venue was ridiculous. I have been to this venue in the past for concerts, but for some reason it was extremely unorganized and frustrating. We parked in VIP for easy access, but then the line was all the way down the hill which defeated the purpose to park in VIP. It felt like we were a herd of cattle trying to get in the fenced area. Not a good experience. I'm glad the performers made up for that!! The VIP parking made it easy to get out of the park lot after the concert was over though. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves and glad we attended! Whoa hoo!! :)

    Reminiscing

by mindovermatter on 9/3/14Concord Pavilion (Formerly Sleep Train Pavilion) - Concord

It was a great time seeing these groups, listening to the music and reminiscing the memories that went along with it.My only complaint was the amount of staff that was at the entrance of the venue scanning tickets and checking bags. I feel the quick post down/check is not really efficient and the efforts to that could have been used towards scanning tickets. Other than that the concert was put together well.

The line to get in the event was insane and for some reason they were only letting small groups in at a time which caused us to miss the first act entirely. The remaining acts were great but I'm very disappointed about the dis-organization of getting people inside!
