About

Hootie & the Blowfish formed in South Carolina between four college friends in 1986. After landing on their permanent lineup of guitarist and vocalist Darius Rucker, guitarist Mark Bryan, bassist Dean Felber, and drummer Jim “Soni” Sonefeld, the group released their debut album Cracked Rear View in 1995. The album became a smash hit behind three Top 10 singles, “Hold My Hand,” "Let Her Cry" and "Only Wanna Be with You" and reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 on its way to becoming the highest selling album of 1995. Cracked Rear View, which has been certified platinum 21 times, remains one of the best-selling albums of all-time in the U.S. Hootie & the Blowfish won two Grammys, including Best New Artist, in 1996 and released their sophomore effort Fairweather Johnson later that year, marking their second No. 1 debut. Beginning in 2008, the band went on hiatus while Rucker pursued a solo career in country music, and reunited in 2019 for their sixth album, Imperfect Circle

    I've had bettter

by Jon on 6/9/24Pine Knob Music Theatre - Clarkston

There was a point where they played 4 or 5 songs in a row that almost nobody knew.

    6/7/24 Riverbend Cincinnati

    by Pechet on 6/8/24

Edwin McCain did a fine job Collective Soul was enthusiastic and loud, fun, just not my favorite songs Hootie and the Blowfish had some great moments (like Buffalo Springfield cover, and “Wagon Wheel”) and some not-so-great moments (Darius really seamed to struggle with “Time”, went flat, mumbled in a few songs). I’ve seen them a few times since bar scene before Cracked Rear View came out and they just seemed a little off last night. Riverbend Arena does not have the best sound quality, and traffic management was atrocious; on the plus side concessions and merch were reasonably priced. Weather was perfect.

    Flashback to the mid 90's

by Ric B on 6/6/24Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre - St. Louis, MO - Maryland Heights

Edwin McCain, Collective Soul & Hootie & the Blowfish were all great that night. Several nice covers thrown in thought the night.

    Too much country

by Soldan 83 on 6/4/24Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre - St. Louis, MO - Maryland Heights

IMO they played too much of his solo country stuff. Maybe they just don’t have enough songs. They were doing REM covers so could be. Was just average show

by SC travel nurse on 6/4/24Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre - St. Louis, MO - Maryland Heights

Show in St Louis was awesome this weekend. I would definitely recommend attending a concert on this tour. So much fun. Edward McCain and Collective Soul did a great job. Of course Hootie and the Blowfish rocked the house and put on a fantastic show. You will not be disappointed!

A passion for their music and a joy for their audience.

by BL_STL on 6/4/24Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre - St. Louis, MO - Maryland Heights

What musicians do matters, a lot. Thank you for letting me participate in the absolutely best summer party with 20,000 of your enthusiastic friends. Hootie and the Blowfish delivered and the team of other musicians were fantastic. I am still smiling. Edwin McCain an excellent musician and composer with such a fine voice. I have been streaming songs since I got home. Collective Soul Oh my, a real surprise for me. So creative and original I was unaware of their music although my frends certainly were quite aware. On the surface this is not my thing but digging deeper that is absolutely not true. I have always appreciated originality and well crafted music with an outstanding performance. Ed don't give up the pink suit. The audience loved it! I would also like to recognize Darus Rucker. The friendships and generosity of spirit he has fostered over the years with musicians, charities and communities is something to be very proud of. I don't know him personally, but the performance and assembly of talented these individuals is just one example of what happens when long time friends get together , play great music and let us join in. We all benefit from that and this crazy bunch of southern boys. As Abba would sing.... "Thank you for the music.. what would life be without it? "

    Awesome except chair rental.

by Lizzy on 6/4/24Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre - St. Louis, MO - Maryland Heights

Bands and set up were amazing! Came for Hootie, now can't stop playing Collective Soul! Thought we could bring a bag chair till we were on site. $20/person for chair rental due to "security"- aka making more money.

    Bad upgrade

by Kirk on 6/4/24Dos Equis Pavilion - Dallas

We bought tickets back when they went on sale. We looked two days before the concert to see if it was sold out. It was not and they lowered the tickets .76 and we were told you can only upgrade to tickets that are more expensive or the same price. We were not trying to get a refund for the money just wanted to get closer to the stage. Seems like a bad way to do business.
