Alternative hip-hop artist Hoodie Allen crossed over from underground to mainstream attention with his 2012 All American EP, which debuted at No. 1 on the iTunes chart as well as the Billboard top ten. The rapper and singer was born Steven Markowitz in New York City and grew up in a Jewish household in Plainview, Long Island, writing lyrics as a kid and rapping at friends' parties in high school, where he adopted his moniker from the childhood nickname Hoodie. While attending the University of Pennsylvania, he released 2008’s Making Waves mixtape and 2009’s Bagels and Beats EP and Pep Rally mixtape, which sampled Death Cab for Cutie, Flight Facilities, and Two Door Cinema Club, and generated internet buzz for its track "You Are Not A Robot", sampling Marina & The Diamonds. Hoodie has also wowed audiences on tour with the likes of Chiddy Bang, Das Racist, and RJD2, as well as headlining a concert trek across the United States. With pop-rap style in the vein of Asher Roth and Sam Adams, his multi-speed and witty lyrics coupled with his vibrant beats are sure to entertain ticket holders. His newest mixtape Crew Cuts featured contributions from Chance the Rapper, Chiddy Bang and Shwayze, and his 2013 fall tour took him through cities in Europe and the U.S.
Honestly, Hoodie and Jake Miller absolutely killed it and this was one of the best shows I have ever attended.
I totally recommend. I hope to go back! I wouldn’t trade this night for anything
This was my second time seeing Hoodie and he didn’t disappoint! He puts on a super fun show and is also really great at making sure everyone gets the best experience possible. At the merch table, the first 100 people got wristbands to get a picture with him after the show and that really made the concert so much more memorable for me. The underground is an awesome place for concerts, it’s a much more intimate setting than any kind of arena. Hoodie is great live and a great person, can’t wait to see him again!
I mean the show was good because he’s always pretty good but I feel like this tour he was just flying through his set list. He did shorter versions of almost all of his songs and he wasn’t even on for 2 hours. I guess afterward he was on vocal rest or something because we were rushed through a meet and greet we paid for by buying $50 merch. It was just snap a picture and leave he didn’t say anything to anyone. I’ve been to all of his shows in Charlotte for years and if he came back I probably wouldn’t go again. Sorry hoodie.
I will continue to go to their concerts! God did was amazing and I had never heard of him before. He was so involved with the crowd, he crowd surfed, raced a fan, threw water out, sat down and grabbed someone hand and sang to them. It was great! And Jake was spectacular, he was also involved and told everyone about his hometown and remixed the songs, he is not as well known as Hoodie but I definitely saw that everyone enjoyed him!
Hoodie is so fun to watch on stage. He was always dancing and taking off his earpiece so that he could hear the crowd recite his lyrics. As an audience member, I really felt like he was getting as much joy performing for us as we were getting from watching him. He also crowd-surfed on an inflatable and threw food into the crowd! As for the venue, I was very impressed. It was intimate, and the staff was very vocal about information sharing so that attendants always knew when and where to go. The bathrooms were clean, and they processed individuals into the venue efficiently. A great experience overall!
Great performance by Hoodie Allen at a nice venue!

This was my first time at his show, and it was the best night I’ve ever had in my life. I definitely reccomend 100000000000000%
Hoodie always puts on the best shows! King of the fans!
This is my third time seeing him and he's put on a great show every. single. time. Just a warning in case you've never seen him, during his song Cake he throws full sized cakes into the crowd. I think it's hilarious and fun, but my friend didn't think so when she got cake on her!
Absolutely love seeing Hoodie and loved this room!
I always enjoy myself at Hoodie Allen concerts. He puts on a great time and the extra stuff he does for his fans is unbelievable. It’s not expensive and he focuses on his fans. Awesome merch, picks nice, clean venues and doesn’t disappoint. I recommend him to all my friends. Will see him every time he’s on tour.
The best show I’ve ever been to hands down. There was so many exciting and new things I’ve never seen in a concert before and the music and opening act was outstanding
