The glitz of Sin City meets the razzle-dazzle of Broadway in HONEYMOON IN VEGAS, an uproarious new musical with a book by Andrew Bergman, music and lyrics by Jason Robert Brown, and direction by Garry Griffin.
HONEYMOON IN VEGAS tells the story of Jack Singer (Rob McClure), a regular guy with an extraordinary fear of marriage, who finally gets up the nerve to ask his girlfriend Betsy (Brynn O’Malley) to marry him. But when they head to Las Vegas to get hitched, smooth talking gambler Tommy Korman (Tony Danza), looking for a second chance at love, falls head over heels for Betsy. Bet the house on this insanely funny new musical full of skydiving Elvises, sexy chorus girls, red-hot romance… and really cold feet.
We laughed and laughed. The staging was fantastic. The dancing superb and acting fantastic.
Very good play, all of the cast were incredible. Tony Danza was spectacular & gave an amazing performance. Very entertaining & awesome night!
Really enjoyable show. Cast and music were excellent. We go to the theater 20-25 x a year and we will avoid the Nederlander as the seating has never been updated and is extremely tight and uncomfortable.
Great show with a wonderful original score. Tony Danza and cast were outstanding.....
Let's face it the story isn't Gone with the Wind, however, Rob McClure shines in the lead and he is a naturally physical comedian. I personally would give him another Tony nomination. Tony Danza was not good for the first act. I could not understand him very well and thought it was a sound system problem. Thank goofiness he perked up for act two. Actually in act II the whole show exploded with joy. Everything perked up. Score a big A+ for the flying Elvises. Rob McClure also gets an ace. - Cheers!
Great show, up close and personal with row F! Tony looking fit and trim.
While Tony Danza is the performer name most of us know, the entire cast deserves praise for their performance Friday night January 16 2015. The show might be slightly longish, it however is a winsome fun musical! Well done!
Have to hand it to the creators of Honeymoon in Vegas. They've given Broadway a bona fide, old-fashioned musical. When was the last time you went to a musical that opened with an overture? An overture with a large orchestra? When was the last time you heard original music and lyrics written by a Broadway veteran (Jason Robert Brown)? Tony Danza can sing and even does a respectable soft shoe. The plot is based on the movie of the same name, and is a bit predictable and hokey in places. However, the overall experience is quite enjoyable. Hope this show makes it through Broadway's dark winter months. Hopefully, with the strong reviews it just received it will make through to the spring and a few Tony noms.
Such a fun night at the theatre! Great performances, great music - everything you could ask for!
Fantastic - high energy, entertaining - incredible. Great laughter - so well done. Danza does a great job - credible, enjoyable - he can still do it all. Other actors were more than fantastic. Would love to see it again - and again!
Excellent, enjoyable show with great stage changes. Love how the show was performed and the transition from Vegas to Hawaii and back. All the Actors were excellent and so was the band. Musical as well as acting.
The cast was perfect, and very funny. We had a great time. Bravo !
A wonderful score and lyrics, great performance by Rob McLure, really enjoyable. Must see!
