It was a great experience for myself and my child....we love the movie hocus Pocus and watching it at sheas made the movie more interesting, I even jumped during one of the scarlet scenes, even though I’ve watched it many times! I’d love to do something like this again with my family! Thanks for the experience.
Good movie & people, we had a good time. Everyone enjoyed the movies as well as the refreshments.
Would love to see as an annual event but the whole costume thing needs better staging. The announcement at the end left us confused. Who were the winners ... we needed to see them as we didn’t know them by real names only appearance. Thanks ... one of my fav movies!
I definitely enjoyed seeing Hocus Pocus at the Ohio Theater. The only issue I had was that the audio was a bit muffled during scenes - it was difficult to understand what some of the actors were saying in the movie. Perhaps it was because of where I was seating - in the balcony, I'm not sure. Either way, I'll definitely be visiting the Ohio Theater again for a movie, play, or another type of arts - I enjoyed my experience.
I loved going downtown and going to dinner, got ne out of my zip code. I didn't like not being able to sit in the seat I purchased, caused confusion and people fighting over their seats. I sat next t a woman and her child, a man walked up and politely asked her for his coats. The lady became argumentative right away, the man politely stated again that he would just like coats as he had left them to save his seats. The woman became more angry, he asked one more time before she finally handed him his coats. Then wanted me ta agree with her! Ive never seen her before in my life! It then led to the lady behind me keep blowing my hair , im assuming I was in her way....who knows but I liked the seats I picked and wasn't able to sit there. I believe people would act better if they had to sit in proper seat and someone would know who they were if really needed to... the movie was great and loved going downtown and grabbing my kids for a fun family dinner after!!
Hocus Pocus is a classic and it was really fun to experience it communally like that. Only two flaws I could see: the windows yet ask bar stayed up during the cartoon short, which was distracting, and the intermission transition was really jarring.
My husband and I make it a tradition to come to The Palace to enjoy a Halloween movie each year. This showing fell on his birthday and Hocus Pocus is one of my favorite childhood movies. But this experience wasn't super great because EVERYONE was talking throughout the movie, as well as taking pictures of the movie screen and using their phone flashlights... It very well could've just been the area where we were sitting in the balcony. I understand these movies that are shown are favorites and most everyone has seen them dozens of times. So not everyone's first thought is to enjoy the movie quietly... But it was super distracting hearing two full conversations going on next to me. I didn't see any ushers anywhere, but maybe that'd be a good idea for next time? This was the first year there has been an intermission, but the theater lights suddenly being turned on was quite jolting. This experience wasn't enough to ruin The Palace for me though. I still look forward to coming back and enjoying more events!
we had vip tickets, so we got to meet her and get a photo with her. she was warm and friendly at the meet and greet. she did a Q&A before they showed the movie, and she was incredibly down to earth and so funny. she is a talented woman and we had a great time.
The venue was perfect. Just the right size and set up. I enjoyed a happy hour cocktail before meeting Kathy Najimy. She was very friendly and welcoming. The Q&A was the perfect length and combination of questions, stories and audience questions. The evening culminated with a screening of Hocus Pocus on 35mm film. Perfect!
Was highly disappointed! I would never pay what I did for a movie. I thought I was going to see a theater play. Never again!
I love Hocus Pocus, the movie portion was great. Unfortunately the sound system at the FM Kirby theater was terrible. We could hardly understand a word being said by Kathy Nijimy or the interviewer. We were in row S so we weren’t that far back. Everyone around us was trying to figure out what was being said. This was the second time I was at this theater and the second time the sound was terrible. I won’t be going back.

Kathy Najimy was wonderful! My only complaint was that the Kodak Center did a terrible job with the movie sound. Many unhappy customers.
